  • Honestly? He sings what songs were meant to be. A true story driven straight from the heart.

  • One of the most emotionally honest ans sincere bands in existance. How is it that bands like these guys are the exception and Brittney fucking Spears and her fake kind are the norm. Got ot hate commerical radio

  • Aces guys xx

  • I met Justin when he worked at SMTC and he is a very talented artist. I really relate to this sone. I have weight of the world tattooed across my shoulders. I really love the music he writes

  • HA, All of you Nay sayers shall be struck down, anyone who does not like this will be given a severe beating, one that shoves pure emotion in your face, just like Blue October does, Hince, thier awesomeness!

  • Anime does not have feelings d:

  • This is an amazing song!

  • just listen to the cheers.......

  • This song is not just about drug addiction, Justin Furstenfeld has schizophrenia as well as bipolar disorder. Classic schizophrenia symptoms are visual and auditory hallucinations, i.e. 'voices there to dare me', and 'the little boy who'd argue with a tree', as well as delusional or psychotic thought processes, i. e. the monster he sees in himself and the belief he carries 'the weight of the world', that things that happen over which he has no control, he believes are his fault.

  • Love the acostic

  • i can so relate to this. like many others, blue october says what i am feeling and explains what i have been through perfectly!

  • i fucking wish there a was 'LOVE' BUTTON NOT JUST A STUPID LIKE BUTTON!

  • This song is my life. I lived it since I can remember...and it continues everyday....

  • wow i just relized i spelled that rong rofl

  • im annoyed know one my age knows the most beaitull music in the world... blue october :)

  • lol my fathers here 2 scare me :D lol

  • love your videos richard71a, you seem to even do blue october justice

  • This version is SOO much better than the original..

I Love this song so very much.

  • I guess this basically means when he sez voyces ther 2 dare me he means he feel mental and when he says fathersd her to scer me he meens dads gonna abuse him

  • @AustonyCentral I could be way off base, but my personal interpretation is that the voices are inside telling him he needs one more fix. These could also be peers that are pushing him to continue when he really wants to quit. These voices dare him to do it again. Maybe his father reference is most likely an intervention by his parents. It seems that at one point he woke up from a fix with his parents there. His mother was crushed and his father tries to use anger to scare him straight. IDK

  • Love the raw emotion in this song

  • i love this song!

  • Don't like the video,like the song ;D

  • despite what some think or think they know, music can change, save,or even produce life.i know it has gotten me through some shit.all im saying is to me...MUSIC=LIFE!!!!!GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

  • @WeBelieve2008 I know it isn't curable, demean me for spelling? sorry i'm not as anal or predantic as you are..

Whereas it isn't curable, it's manageable, and in my mind it's better than what i was like, well what i was told i was like.. so go choke and open your mind to a bit more of a leanient (sp?) outlook on people's lives - Thanks :)

  • Great song, terrible video. 'nuff said.

  • the reason blue October are so good?-because they sing the words that everyone else is too afraid to :)

i shall forever be a fan of them :)

  • I cry because some people think that like and everytime are spelled with a y.

  • everytym i hear this song i think about cutting and i hav done tht b4 and i cry lyk evrytym

  • Srry, just had to login give u the scary red thumb xD

  • Cutting...no one should go there. It's not a good thing. Good luck to anyone still stuck doing it.

  • not the best of blue october but still love them

  • umm good for u, richard?

  • this song is my anthem..i love blue october...

  • I fucking LOVE Blue October and I have from the very beginning. Their music is honest, real and touching. It has substance & soul. It is so awesome to finally see them get the recognition they deserve.

  • @lickmysackdotcom hipster

  • Nice well done video! I love this song i own the cd its a very deep song...... thanks for sharing an your story behind the making of this video as well.......*****

  • i cryed the whole time when i first listend to it

  • So... so deep.

  • a haunting song... drugs are fucking shit..!

Execute all dealers. Vigilantes will stand up one day and massacre the fucking lot of 'em and the bent cops and politicians too..! Your card is marked.!

  • Your fucking wierd. "Yay perfect world! or a better choice of words Yay Communism!"

  • The world isn't gunna change from youtube comments, vigilantes(sp?) will never get anywhere, it's too paradoxal.. I like what you're saying though, nonetheless - it came accross a bit Hitler-ish

  • no matter how hard we try drugs and dealers will never be removed from this world....its somthing we cant stope. we cant stop war, gangs, murder, terrorism o why would we be able to stop drugs

  • "Execute all dealers" is your solution to the problem of addiction, paully1969? Srsly? That's your reaction to this song as of 2009, with all you might have learned from history by now?

I call troll. If you've got an actual case to make, go for it. Otherwise: ha ha, very funny. Next!

Agreed with you on the "haunting song" part, though.

  • yes, killing all cops makes sense doesn't it. get a life. you don't know what you're talking about

  • I like the live version a lot better.

Justin puts so much emotion into his live performances.

  • I absolutely agree, I think Justin sings with pure emotion even on the albums, but when you her him live, its so much better, cause he sings it with out interuption from a director saying lets try that agiank, when he sings live he can get into that emotion he is singing about and stay there, and thats why think its better live,, I have seen them 6 times and cant wait till May 3rd, wehn I can see them on their tour for the new album "Approaching Normal"

  • I too agree. I just saw them this last month for their tour for the first time and I think they are amazing both, in concert and on CD. Theres so much emotion both ways from all of the artists in the band, Justin and the instrumentalists. They're very talented and the music is just amazing :-)

  • man can i relate to this song....yes i grew up in the 70's and i put my mother thru hell with my addictions...he's been singing songs i lived and felt 30 yrs ago keep it up justin, great band, and awsome live too seen them 3 times, and seeing them may 16 in michigan....gl

  • this song made me cry, because it fits my brother and how my family was...it fits so much,...

    =,(

  • it's amazing acoustic.. thanks for putting up this video =]

  • I don't do drugs, but i feel like i can relate to it anyway...

  • I can relate also to this song made me cry half way threw, I am also a recovering herion addictt clean 8 years.

  • Yes I have heard it , and I think it came out very good,, I have the new album and the whole thing kicks ass as far as Im concearned

  • Yeah i agree wih you

  • It's called guy liner, a lot of rockers use it.

  • Good job to all of you guys who are tryin to turn ur lives around and gettin over all these difficult issues, and good luck to those who are still workin on it be patient, ull make it.

  • thank you, my hard times are over but still

  • okay sorry tried to reply on someone but something went wrong (A)

  • These vids that use games and anime to go with the song really kill the experience for me.

  • Then dont watch, just listen LOL :P

  • @Richard71A Do you know when they're going to make a new album? That would be amazing

  • AWSOME SONG AND AWSOME GAME

  • but i'm not hitting holes in the wall and i don't take 15 to 20 oxycontin's a day =)

  • nice dude/ette (whichever the case may be) It's nice knowing you conquered a mountain at some stage in your life, sorta refreshing right?

    -peace

    x

  • lol deffinately, my personal metaphor would be as if I was half way up mt. fuji, and with one mindless mistake I find myself falling towards the bottom where aokigahara waits to claim my life as well. one more thing, what does the random (sp?) you do mean?

  • this reminds me of when i realized i too had a very bad drug problem, there were holes in every single wall in my house and every door smashed or broken in half and once i slammed my head through a door, kicked 2 dead bolt locks open at 2 houses, i was on ice, powder, OC's, xanax, klonopin, valium, seroquel, which i still take, i also still take valium and xanax, and lortab, percocet, oxymorphone, fentnyl, any pill that would do something and weed which i still do..so i guess i still have a prob

  • I really hope that you get better...

I've never gone through addiction, but almost my entire family has and a lot of my friends too, so I've grown up around the pain.

Even though you might not believe or really like this, I'll pray for you. (I really will, I don't just say it to be polite.)

  • thanks that means a lot to me :)

  • this reminds of late 2005-mid 2006

  • good luck man, I know how you feel :)

  • this song reminds me of a dark stage in my life, when i became a Paranoid Schitzophrenic (sp?) and once came round with blood and glass in my kunckles, and a guy at my school laying on the floor with my skin under his fingernails.

Now that's behind me, i can move on, and i think that's what the song's about, recognising you done something you didn't want to do conciously.

  • whats paranoid scheitzophrenic? *ps: srry if i didn't spell that right*

  • uhm, you obviously weren't Schizophrenic, you don't know the spelling, and Schizophrenia isn't curable. Quit being a liar.

  • lol you are retarted xD First quit being a smart ass, second he never said he was cured, he just said is was behind him... EVER HEARD OF MEDICINES? x] Third don't attack people on there spelling, first go watch the faults in your own life....

  • =] ty for the defense :)

  • excellent, I couldn't have described the song better myself, of course this is all speculation, but was that person at your school a good friend?

  • This song has really helped me as well, Same thing happened when I OD'd on sleeping pills trying to get high. Now I've got 11 months without any drugs...

  • Congratulations on being drug free for 11 months now, thats awesome!!!! :)

  • well if your the reading type, read Tweak by Nic Sheff. Its his memoir about his lifeas a drug addict. And the companion book by his father: Beautiful Boy (David Sheff)

  • this song is almost perfect...

but my mom would be the 1 scaring me adn my dad crying.... *sigh* yeahp

  • this song is amazing

  • Blue october is the shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song reminds me of my struggle with eatingdisorders. :( Some things always relate to the music you listen to, this songs beauitful. I lie too much too. Time for a change.

  • Is There A None Live Version To This?

  • There will be when their new album "Approaching Normal" Arrives.

  • Cool. Thanks! (:

  • Blue october has many songs that I can relate to, But this song describes alot of what I went through. This band is great. Thanks for posting man.

  • Blue October is my Favorite band, if you see all my videos I have posted you will see that. Most of them are of Blue October songs. and your welcome for the posting.

  • GOOD LUCK ON THE DRUG ADDICTION

  • This song has so much meaning to me. I tried taking my life several times and yes liars they leave a guilty trail....god knows how many hearts I broke because of my issues. Thanks for posting this.

  • I know what you mean, in my own way. I was about to take my own life, cause I lost everything due to my drug addiction.I lost my house, my car, my friends and family. I was walking the streets homeless, and listening to Blue October to help me with my depression, and the song, Chamelion Boy starts to play, I relized then, thats me, and then this song, Weight of the World plays, and thats when I relized, taking my life was not the way, I didnt want to hurt so many others, after I already had.

  • I thought it said wires? :S *listens carefully*
