I just got this phone yesterday. it's pretty slick, but I'm surprised at how slow it reacts to most applications and key presses, compared to my older 6126.
There are a number of things I really do not like about the phone. But there are also a number of things I love about it, so I guess it's even. I know in time, I'll just grow to get used to it.
Another thing to note. This will also run "Mail for Exchange" for most standard work email accounts, the customers IT dept. will likely have to do some intervention but it works with the right info. Nokia Maps 1.2 works flawlessly as well and gives good directions. IT can be downloaded from Nokiausa if you use the E70 DL link.
I found the GPS, Internet, and Camera keys to be VERY annoying. So, i remapped them using MagicKey.
hmmm.... sounds like it might take some troubleshooting. I recommend bringing it into an at&t store, and/or calling customer support. try the Nokia support hotline @ 888-NOKIA2U
is there a way to get a digital clock on the cover display and also on the display when you open the phone? instead of having to click on the menu to see the time
This is a fantastic tutorial video. I have a quick question, I plan on purchasing this phone and getting rid of my iPhone(cant pay the $30/mth) I was wondering how I could setup a yahoo and gmail account and if they are push instead of pull. Do I have to use at&t clunky mobile e-mail or is there a built in e-mail client?
I've been looking for a new phone for about a month now. I have firmly decided on this one. I was caught off guard by all the features. I'm looking forward to using it. I'm also getting rid of my iPhone to get this phone. I have been ridiculed quite a bit for it but I can't get over the iPhone's lack of picture messaging and video. I am a very tech-savy person and I don't take decisions like this lightly. So for me to do something like this says a lot. Keep up the good work Nokia.
Thanks for your comment! I actually used your comment in a recent presentation I gave to a sales group to show them that even some people would rather have a 6650 than an iPhone!

My sales of this phone have solely been based on the Media Net/Navigator bundle. Now that I've seen this tutorial, not only do I know that more customers will be more intrigued by the 6650 but I want the phone for myself (whether I win the contest or not)!
I think you did an outstanding job explaining how easy it is to work the phone. Being able to set your shortcuts right on the display and fully utilize it is a very nice feature as well, but best of all the large battery. The device also has the built in GPS which everyone is looking for now in days, overall great product. Thank you for taking the time to put this tutorial together for us to use with our customers
Jaspreet Brar (Jay) Reston Town Center (w137)I like how you can personalize the devices keypad by changing it's color to multiple colors such as red, blue, green, yellow, white. best OS and sharp,GPS and its easy to use.

If you choose not to sign up for a data plan, you can/will be charged 'pay-per-use'... About GPS through at&t nav, they offer a free 30 day trial, but i believe you will not be able to access the applicatiaon w/o a subscription.
About the camera/external UI... You can lock the screen by simply quickly tapping the left, then right touch keys consecutively, beneath the external screen.
Hey thanks for the info, one more quick ? can you have mp3's for ringtones, I know they have to be a certain length on the other att phones if they can be on this one do they have to be that length also. Thanks again.
