i had a lt250r quadracer project i sold it to my cousin for 300$ i only had 200 in it but why did you/him pull in the clutch and try to run back wards i wouldve worked my front brake but you we over at the edge all most side ways i think you could have avoided it but when your on the side of the hill its hard to thinks so props for just trying :) ive never been there but looks steep and fun
@Pitbull450r you mean pull all 3 clutch, front brakes, and rear brakes, then either try to turn around without flipping(DUH) or go down slowly backwards, always works for me, well execpt for time i was riding the POS with no brakes. well it still worked but i didnt want to go down the hill that fast backwards, i bet i hit 30mph going backwards
@250rman79 Alright first off I give you some props because a 250R is a bad ass bike.....but to say that it will even hold a candle to my or any other LT500 your IQ is obviously equivalent to your shoe size. Second of all the Monster as well as all of the other hills at Elson St. are gone the whole place is logged out, so obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. I disagree hillclimbs are all about handeling, what good is all that horsepower if you dont get any traction? The 250 R is the best handeling quad of all time, and it doesnt take much to open up the motor to make it a screamer. I have seen a couple good hillclimber Suzukis though but still id give the edge to the 250 R.

good news ( i used to ride patrol for elison st.) and i just talked to roger today date is 4-4-09, and elison north should be opening in a month or so (just what i've heard) and i guess its 400 acres off of rt.800 so keep your fingers crossed, and maybe we will have another place to ride, i'm hoping to go scout the area in the next few weeks i'll try to keep posting whatever i find out

hey man. i just went to elson yesterday and it is being logged then stripped mined. the trees on the hill climbs in the main parking lot have been cut down. and a bunch have been over by the mud pit with the sign that says "deep hole". there are oher places all throughout the park cut down to. it really sucks the guy gave it a couple of months till it closes so ride while u still can.

Its kinda hard to explain over a computer. Its sort of east and slightly north of the first / main parking lot. Best bet is to ask a few people when you are there if they will show you.
You cant see the bottom of the hill unless you drop in to a good size ravine but you can see it from the top. Hope this helps.

i live near where the iron man gncc race is held every year i can here the quads from my house and the woods i ride in has hills way bigger that the one's in the iron man. plus if your 500ho as in scrambler you know what the gen 3 polaris's can do my polaris can do any and everything.i climb hills so steep i can't walk up them. my trail blazer is almost stock it has a k&n air filter and orgional tires from 1999 so as soon as it dries up i'll post a ton of video's
and i dont doubt u can climb steep hills. i like polaris bikes and thats y i own one. but with as short of a run as this hill offers, there is no way a trailbalzer 250 could make it up.
he had a good run for the hill and if i knew where this hill was and gas wasn't so expensive i would go and climb it. if you listen he get's going a good bit before he just jumps off

I did that hill on my kx250 back when this place was still called the waynesburg strip mine (I ride tracks now). Its much easier on a bike then a quad, I would never try it on a quad, lol. Props for trying.
dumb ass quad guys dug the hill out and dug out the stumps (me and mikey d.) it just used to rut out so fast because of the water run off, trust me i had like 4 sunday's about 16 hours worth of pick axing to make it climbable

That "weak ass incline" as you call it is at about a 60 degree angle and the difference in height from to to bottom is at least 75'. Nope wasnt in neutral. Just gravity pulling it down. The bike was fixed the following weekend but now currently its down for a frame off restoration, I will be back for the Monster this summer.
The bike probably took off so fast because it is a 60+ degree hill. I would like to get all the guys together who say they have climbed this hill and see them do it.
I did that the hill on a King Quad 700 w/ ITP Mud lites. And I will say this, THAT HILL IS AN SOB to climb. I relied more on low end torque than speed, plus 4wd is a BIG HELP.
Before any of you comment on him wrecking, try the hill yourself. 95% of you won't have the NUTS to try it in the first place!
yep, we're talkin the "same hill". You can't hustle a 600lb + machine up a hill like that, too hard to handle it. It's more about the 4wd on the big quads than the speed & handling of a smaller one.

Monster/Widow maker is a mean ass hill and damn near impossible on a quad. Although some have made it up it. We were just there this weekend it's a crazy ass hill this video angle does it NO justice.
From the sounds of the engine. he was in the wrong gear and he was not in the power band.On those two strokes you got to be in the power band and stay in it or it will leave you sitting on the side of the hill.

Well put. The thing thats hard to see from the video is that there is about a 15 foot drop into a ravine and then the hill is right there. Dosent give much of a run or time to even see where you are going. You basically are going at it blind with as much throttle as you can get.

Its kinda hard to explain over a computer. Its sort of east and slightly north of the first / main parking lot. Best bet is to ask a few people when you are there if they will show you.
You cant see the bottom of the hill unless you drop in to a good size ravine but you can see it from the top. Hope this helps.

wtf i watch this all the time and can't get over how much this rider sucks. i literally climb bigger hills on my polaris trail blazer 250 about every day. what happend to kill switch and brakes. GET OFF OF IT IS NOT AN OPTOIN FOR ME unless you on a 350ft long hills that has a 6ft ledge at the top and your on a 350x 3 wheeler and your helmet fell off at the bottem and it's 1991

i live near where the iron man gncc race is held every year i can here the quads from my house and the woods i ride in has hills way bigger that the one's in the iron man. plus if your 500ho as in scrambler you know what the gen 3 polaris's can do my polaris can do any and everything.i climb hills so steep i can't walk up them. my trail blazer is almost stock it has a k&n air filter and orgional tires from 1999 so as soon as it dries up i'll post a ton of video's

and i dont doubt u can climb steep hills. i like polaris bikes and thats y i own one. but with as short of a run as this hill offers, there is no way a trailbalzer 250 could make it up.

me and mikey d. made that hill, (used to ride patrol at elson, before it closed) and i doubt a trailblazer 250 could make it down that hill, it was alot cleaner the year before this video, that guy's got balls for even trying it.

I did that hill on my kx250 back when this place was still called the waynesburg strip mine (I ride tracks now). Its much easier on a bike then a quad, I would never try it on a quad, lol. Props for trying.

i hate when the do that 2 places i used to ride got shut down and they knocked down trees so we couldnt get back there...well we found a way in and now its compleetly flat. i live in maryland and is hard to find a good spot oh well the streets are almost as fun!

Yeah cant really argue with that. I have a dirt bike also and they are fun but I am a quad enthusiast at heart. The main reason I like quads better is when you stop on the trial or in a nice field to drink beer you dont have to look for a tree or something to lean up against. LOL!!

That "weak ass incline" as you call it is at about a 60 degree angle and the difference in height from to to bottom is at least 75'. You can talk all the shit you want when I see your grossly fat ass climb it. If I were you I would stay in your back yard on your piece of shit tricycle or 3-wheeler or whatever you call it. It looks like the bike might have been in neutral when you jump off? I have kicked my bike in neutral when I have tried to shift on a hill! The reason I ask is the speed that your bike took off backwards was pretty fast like it was out of gear? I live in New Philadelphia oh. I have an 01 raptor 660 with mods and have climbed this hill. Nope wasnt in neutral. Just gravity pulling it down. The bike was fixed the following weekend but now currently its down for a frame off restoration, I will be back for the Monster this summer.

I did that the hill on a King Quad 700 w/ ITP Mud lites. And I will say this, THAT HILL IS AN SOB to climb. I relied more on low end torque than speed, plus 4wd is a BIG HELP.
Before any of you comment on him wrecking, try the hill yourself. 95% of you won't have the NUTS to try it in the first place!

yep, we're talkin the "same hill". You can't hustle a 600lb + machine up a hill like that, too hard to handle it. It's more about the 4wd on the big quads than the speed & handling of a smaller one.
been riding (mini bikes, dirt, motocross, crotch rockets, street bikes & quads for over 35 years). I've got it down pretty good........

Monster/Widow maker is a mean ass hill and damn near impossible on a quad. Although some have made it up it. We were just there this weekend it's a crazy ass hill this video angle does it NO justice.

From the sounds of the engine. he was in the wrong gear and he was not in the power band.On those two strokes you got to be in the power band and stay in it or it will leave you sitting on the side of the hill.

Obviously, if he had been in the gas more...it would have flipped before tumbling down the hill. (once the front end is in the air and the bike isn't going where you want it to...more gas won't help)

Well put. The thing thats hard to see from the video is that there is about a 15 foot drop into a ravine and then the hill is right there. Dosent give much of a run or time to even see where you are going. You basically are going at it blind with as much throttle as you can get.

I also saw your snowmobile video and I think Matt was giving you credit when he call it lame ass because I didnt think it was even that good My 6year old daughter was pulling longer wheelies in our driveway on her bigwheel this morning The hill Matt was climbing is about a 70 degree angle(almost straight up and down in case you dont understand angles)and the top of the hill is about 75' above the bottom Go try it yourself but Im afraid that your skirt would grab lots of air and slow you down
