One of the most perfect movies in film history. Everything, the acting, the directing, the story, the music - the entire package! They don't make movies of this caliber anymore.

I mean this movie is ridiculously good ! Its a grown ups movie ages 40- up and with impeccable screenplay verbal conversations and articulate action pack thrills that make you wish you were in it. Seriously the only other film i think of in the 90s featuring LA is Face Off 1997, thats second to this of the best thrillers of all time. Most of the other hapy horse shit flicks are stupid and forgettable but its the
I know its a well known movie but it really doesnt get the credit it deserves .. From the score , to the shootout scene to the amazing acting ... What a fucking movie
"America's Two Most Electrifying Actors....." The trailer says it all! Such a compliment has never been paid to two actors starring in the same film. Ever.
The movie is straight up a masterpiece. I don't know if I will get to see movies in my life again in this caliber. Fucking movie that I will watch when I will be 50!!!
one of the best, great shootouts but i really love the personal lives of both de niro's and pacino's characters, especially pacino's. de niro's character was great, meticulous, ruthless, and ultimately dedicated to his philosophy
i swear. this will always be my favourate movie of all time. saving private ryan, we were soldiers, pearl harbour, goodfellas, black hawk down, and all the rest would still be second to this
i swear. this will always be my favourate movie of all time. saving private ryan, we were soldiers, pearl harbour, goodfellas, black hawk down, and all the rest would still be second to this
This is one of my favorite films of all time, along with Training Day. Heat deserves to be on the AFI 100 movies list. Great film, great director, and great actors.
I remember buying this movie (Heat) and another called "Negotiator" with Samuel L Jackson and I still do not regret spending money on these movies. Two of the best movies I watched.
On the comment that took the most negative votes... Deer's Trail in Calgary is near the airport. And as freezing most of the time, pavement is pavement even today... a paved road and all dirt and nothing else... no concrete, no asphalt. :-)
I slept most of the time with the 4 hours HEAT(Al Pacino,Robert De Niro, Val Kilmer, etc) movie at Megamall back in the 90's. All what I have seen in the movie was the first 15 minutes and the last 15 minutes. Thanks to YOUTUBE, I may have the chance to "bridge the gap" about the movie! No, I slept all through the movie not because it is lousy. I was all so "boozed" the night before on a "Sabado(Saturday) Night" splurge! :-)
The best modern crime drama to this day. Hands down. I absolutely love it when I talk about this movie to people who have never seen it...one viewing gets them hooked.
Robert De Niro's Best Performances: 1. Raging Bull (1980) 2. Taxi Driver (1976) 3. The Godfather, Part II (1974) 4. Cape Fear (1991) 5. Awakenings (1990) 6. The Deer Hunter (1978) 7. Heat (1995) 8. The King of Comedy (1983) 9. Mean Streets (1973) 10. Casino (1995)
i'm done comparing De Niro and Al Pacino...one is like Steven Spielberg, the other is like Stanley Kubrick respectively! I love them both and I hope Scorcese signs up Al Pacino for his new film which De Niro has already signed up for. Lucky to be in a generation with both actors I'd say.
@charms71 BAD EXAMPLE OF COMPARATION....SPIELBERG IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO KUBRICK...I PREFER SCORSESE VS KUBRICK....IT IS A LITTLE MORE EVEN BUT STILL KUBRICK IS THE BEST OF ALL!....SCORSESE IS THE BEST FILMAKER ALIVE!!!!
@Gaston088able Spielberg has directed far more movies than most directors alive today, just like De Niro has appeared in a lot of films. Kubric has had fewer movies but every one is gold, just like Al Pacino's few acts [7 academy nominations, 1 win] are gold standard. See my logic? All I'm saying is both actors are great in their own ways. As far as best directors go, I'm also with Scorcese.
Great movie, but was hour and thirty mins too long. The director should have cut it down some what. But i dont like watching action movies or thriller over two hours long cos then you end up with transformers.
~ A guy once told me, "Do not Have Any Attachments, Do not Have Anything in your Life you are Not willing to Walk out on In 30 Seconds Flat if you Spot the Heat Around the Corner."~ Neil McCauley . Deniro & Alpacino Legends ,A Masterpiece of Michael Mann
Of all the actors who let himself go in terms of profession and personal life. That actor is now fat fuck Val Kilmer. He currently looks like shit. Probably around 601 and weighing in at 230 lbs. What a fucking lose with no discpline.
Heat now and always will be my favorite movie of all time. i remember when i was a kid i thought it was boring then when i started liking movies i still didnt like it but when i started appreciate the art of film and story i thought it was EPIC MASTERPIECE Michael Mann is my favorite director with scorsese. No film will ever compare to what HEAT does. I the scene i hate the most though is when de niro says hes home free and then exits the freeway always pisses me off. I LOVE HEAT.
@mickeymic1987 brother, I had the same "relationship:" with the movie like you, first watched it as a kid and never liked it until when I was more mature, and we about the same age ;)
A story-plot written as if by a 15 year old - and certainly for those for those with the mind of 15 year old or less.. And then all the rave "oh, what a great movie""....
A demonstrative case how low the standards in cinema have degraded.
Wow this trailer sucks big time but the movie was amazing!! I guess it's true that trailers back then were crap but the movies aren't. Now, exciting trailers but bad movies.
One hell of a film but did anyone notice the biggest blooper? @Brady2k10 I don't think too many people will actually argue with you, but they are likeable characters. But Pacino was good in the Godfather, I thought.
@12OclockLow yeah dont get me wrong, they are good actors, but i think a tad overated, its like when people think of the best actors in the world these two come into mind, and sure they are very good but "best" i dont know, i think pacino is a better actor than de niro but thats me, i find a lot of actors who have done theatre work are better than film actors because they dont have the chance to mess up and do a re take, they do it infront of a big audience whilst these two dont
@LAExcitement I respect your opinion but I would definently say that Robert DeNiro is just as great an actor as Pacino. Its difficult to say which is better Of you can argue which is better but hey DeNiro has put in legendary performances in his roles. And in Heat they both gave equally legendary performances.
One of the most perfect movies in film history. Everything, the acting, the directing, the story, the music - the entire package! They don't make movies of this caliber anymore.

@LAExcitement I respect your opinion but I would definently say that Robert DeNiro is just as great an actor as Pacino. Its difficult to say which is better Of you can argue which is better but hey DeNiro has put in legendary performances in his roles. And in Heat they both gave equally legendary performances.
