  • Theres not a lot of jobs out there that people can honestly say they love doing because what they mean is I can totally tolerate the work I do for the amount that I get paid. I love my job and not just because I get to play music. I do that for me. Thats why I ended up getting good at it. I love my job because I love to see people get up and dance and have a good time because of me. That's why I DON'T play jazz though I have in the past because that was the gig.

  • I play in a house band 5 days a week I know how to hold an audience and read an audience I play at least 5 sometimes 9 different instruments in one night. If you scroll down you will notice where I said Coltrane and Parker are NOT what I choose to listen to. You know why I came to this video? To learn the song for work. I Do the whole Space Odyssey intro and everything. No I'm not really a fan but we have a solid impersonater who plays with us and the crowd loves it and I get paid.

  • was this the man that died on the toilet eating a big mac?

  • @Synthematix Yes the stimulation of the vegas nerve (lol irony) about 6 inches in the anus against the posterior wall of the anus will lower your blood pressure as it connects to your heart and can cause orthstatic hypotension, syncope, or in extreme cases especially ones where the person is on a cocktail of drugs can cause death.

  • Electrifying performance from the king!

  • I don"t care if Presley wrote songs or not. Apparently you don"t know to much about music.Presley was and is still the best entertainer of all, no one will ever come close to him.I"m pretty sure those song writers were very glad that Presley sung their songs. He work his tail off up on stage, don"t put down a good man. There is no entertainer that will ever be remembered like Presley after 34 years. You have right to be jealous of Presley, he had it all and after 34 years he still has it all.

  • @TheSugarburger I think your a little late to our conversation. I gave him credit for the things you said. My opinion is that I would rather see the show live than hear the recording. You're coming off bias and subjective. I get what your saying but my objective statements are true.

  • @TheSugarburger Also I am a professional musician and talk with musicians about musicians and work with famous musicians from time to time as well as study music history and musician biographies like nobodies business. You might not want to have this argument with me.

  • My problem with what you said is because I can say without ego I am one of the best guys in town for any music project performance or production and I am entertaining as hell to watch but it's because I work my ass off to do it and now to sound like an amazing tool, I have been called a musical genius many times. I'm not. I put in a LOT of time and effort into what I do and it sucks when after all that work somebody who is only singing and didn't write his material gets called a musical genius.

  • @richsumbitch Wow I feel like I have to go over this a lot. Elvis did not write his own music. No musical genius applies. He was an exciting stage presence and had an original sound to his voice for the time. The thing is there was not as many musicians back then to choose from so by default he had more eyes on him. I feel I go out of my way to know as much as i can about every music genre I can and for whats out there to say Elvis is above genius is an gross overstatement and...

  • @LaughingOTI80 No Elvis did not write his own music but a lot of the song writers of that era were climbing over one another in the hope that Elvis would cover one of their songs. No one could put emotion into a song like Elvis Presley..He often chose songs that reflected what was going on in his life at the time too. When he sang you felt what it was he was singing about. There hasn't been another performer since that could even match him for stage presence so the fact that..

  • @LovinElvis63 Subjective.

  • @LaughingOTI80 So Elvis is not a musical genius, based on your logic, because he didn't write his own music. Just curious, but Sinatra didn't write his own music, either. Should he be held to the same standard? Interested in hearing your response.

  • @vidnut67 LOL Okay Sinatra... I really dig the rat pack, Sinatra kinda "talk/sang" and he had a great voice for it and like Elvis it was between the look, the persona, the unique style and the right music that made the end product good. Nah I don't think Sinatra was any kind of genius and honestly being a genius or making genius compositions doesn't really mean that it's going to enjoyed by the masses. It takes a sophisticated ear to really get into Parker and Coltrane. They're geniuses ...

  • @vidnut67 But they are never what i choose to listen to.

  • @richsumbitch I would assume you have not made an effort to find out what kind of music is out there.

  • @LaughingOTI80 You assume wrong. Do you really think that Elvis is the only artist I've ever heard or whose albums I've bought?? I actually play music, although I'm sure you wouldn't call it music because it's not complicated enough. You must be a jazz or classical musician to say the things you've said. That's cool if you are, it's just that most of the time those with so called "knowledge" are completely out of touch with what people actually like.

  • You confusing musical genius with perhaps entertainer. Elvis was a great entertainer and what sex appeal was in that time sure he had that. Unique look and maybe the first well known white guy to take a blues style vocal and go rock and roll with it ehhhhh maybe the way he did it sure, to me Lois Prima is the first rock star but that's my opinion I guess. Anyway If you look at what I said it's actually pretty close to what you said. It was even more or less a compliment from a non fan.

  • I am not an Elvis fan nor do I find genius in the content of his vocal technical abilities and composition or the musical composition however I will give him credit for his innovative and exciting fanfare and performance. Just like Kiss. Fun music fun show. Id rather see the show live then hear a recording of it. Anyway I'd say he was the first to bring theatrics of relevant magnitude to a concert and paved the way for Kiss MJ Lady Gaga and GWAR. MJ would be truer to the word genius.

  • @LaughingOTI80 You're not giving him enough credit. He was, at least in my opinion, a musical genius. I guess it's just not your taste, but given the facts presented before you; of his success, his electricity and remarkable creativity you should be able to recognize his genius even without enjoying his style. Although, considering the artists you've mentioned, I'm guessing you're not looking for genius nor true talent, you're more into the mainstream icons created by good marketing, yeah?

  • @HanSomKan1 Funny thing about that, Elvis wrote a song called something like a train ride. That's it. He actually wrote none of his songs but that one. He is only credited with writing some of his hits because his manager made a deal with the actual song writers that Elvis would sing their song if he got a shared songwriting credit. Writers would agree because even a split royalty on an Elvis song made more then if somebody else wrote it. As far as genius is concerned there is none...

  • @HanSomKan1 Now my personal opinion aside, speaking as an objective professional; I forgot to mention that I am a professional musician, Elvis music that he didn't write was not complex music. There is a reason bebop jazz, which is one of the most technical music genres to play, is not more popular. Have you ever tried to hold a conversation with a genius? People don't get it. It's to mathematical. Elvis music was simple but it was fun...

  • @HanSomKan1 Also I cant believe you would make that crack about "you're more into the mainstream icons created by good marketing", WTF do you thing Elvis was?! Are you kidding me?!?!?! You might not like who MJ was, yeah he was out there but as far as his music goes he DID write his music and he micro managed every aspect from the bass lines to the dance choreography and lets face it he was an amazing dancer. MJ was more dynamic and used way more vocal tools, used eclectic multi-tibred sounds..

  • @LaughingOTI80 Sure, I can withdraw my statement slightly to not include Michael. He was a good entertainer and, in fact, a musical genius, just like Elvis.

Now, as you call Elvis' music simple, you say it like it's a bad thing. You seem to have forgotten what matters, what it's all about: happiness. Making people happy, entertaining them, and no matter how it bothers you that Elvis didn't write songs (personally I couldn't care less) you cannot deny that Elvis entertained and influenced ppl.

  • @LaughingOTI80 Part Two. And if you succeed with that, entertaining, in such a grande and mind-blowing way as Elvis did in the 50's and 70's - doesn't that make you a musical genius? To know what the audience wants and give them even more, delivering it with impeccible style and voice. If there's any other definition of musical genius, I'd like to read it - because, to me, it's more than just knowing a lot of vocals (although elvis was very versatile). If u think elvis just walked up on stage-->

  • @LaughingOTI80 Part Three. ...and improvised you're dead wrong. Just like MJ, Elvis was extremely picky and manufactured every song, made it into his own and told the band what to do. I consider myself an Elvis-Expert, you can either take it from me or look it up yourself by studying the data but either way you'll find that when it comes to the highly diffuse word "Genius" a picture of Elvis should/could be featured in the dictionary.

  • ABSOLUTELY DYNAMIC!! GOOSE BUMPS GALORE!

  • i believe he was never alone on stage. spirits helped him. Twin brother?

  • The band start off in white and then they,re in black. The opening is from a different show.

  • elvis never even wrote any of his songs, haha

  • The Original. The Only. The Best.

  • The mighty king.

  • SHOW MAN !!lov u elvis

  • they should played the star trek theme

  • Put me Elvis on the room and I dont care about the others, nor the Beatles, nor Kennedy nor Washington. Elvis is the maximun expression of charisma.

  • Elvis was the absolute definition of cool ! I saw him in concert in march of 74. I was 14 at the time. When he bolted onto the stage I was shaking so hard I couldnt hold the camera ! He put out so much energy when he was on stage you could feel it go through you. For that breathtaking hour time stood still. Elvis was in the house and absolutely nothing else mattered . There has never been and never will be anyone ever again who comes even remotely close to what Elvis had and what he gave us fans

  • @deannamarie29 I saw Elvis in concert about the same time. He was in Indianapolis, IN and you are right, he was simply amazing. My cousin and I about killed each other trying to grab the binoculars. He still had his form and voice and it's something I will never forget. saj

  • there will never be another one like him

  • God da-----m lord have mercy

    That was my favorite song

My wife is a fan to

And I painted him as a ghost with a tear

    For his fans

    From r.Olson

  • The one only Elvis Presley - the showmanship, the charisma, the voice, the looks - NEVER has been or will be duplicated. He gave homage to other entertainers - and they gave it to him. The man that captured millions of hearts and still does.

  • the greatest entertainer ever! luv u elvis!!

  • Thanks ElvisRomnia, this was a great upload of the king, he's all magnificent and pure magic here not to mention the face that launched more than millions of hearts and is still doing so from the grave! Long Live the voice and man, Long live Elvis Aron Presley The ONE And ONLY King there ever was and will ever be! The man shall live on and on and on.. in future generations for being the powerful voice and performer there ever will be. God broke that mold the day Elvis was conceived you bet!

  • The Powerful vocals the charisma the feeling that Elvis generated even before coming on stage or to the city is something that can't be described. There never will be another and The Elvis Concert proves this.having seen almost every performer none come even close. Just imagineThe excitement at The Elvis Concert´so what must the real thing have been! And keep in mind so called "!livin performers" were around while Elvis has been gone for YEARS SO That should tell you the power of Elvis!!

  • thumbs up!

  • Paul McCartney called Elvis the greatest, and Robert Plant said no one could beat Elvis on stage.

  • @thinthin54 ... Except for maybe Led Zeppelin ... LOL

  • probably one of the best performer

  • ELVIS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fantasic

  • SENSATIONALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • brilliant

  • If you´d play Beethoven´s 5th and then mix it with the entrance of any other entertainer, single or band, you woundn´´t get the same excitement because either the music, or the presence of the entertainer would disappoint. It worked with Elvis because the 2001 Space Oddissey matched his presence the moment you saw him. At 6 feet 1, he wasn´t too tall, or too small, At his peak, even better looking than 100 movie stars and professional models put together. That´s why it worked...

  • He was such a sexy guy for his time. I was 6 when he died and my mom introduced his music to me. I thought he had such a strong stage presence.

  • You must be a king to have this attitude !!

  • PURE ENERGY AND MAGIC ON STAGE...VIVA ELVIS FOR EVER!!! <3

  • Now where is your God? Well...here he is!

  • Happy belated BDay King! Miss you! Yourvoice & songs will always be with me. RIP

  • Happy Birthday Elvis 1/8/2011

  • I can't imagine what it would have been like to see Elvis. He was and will always

be the King. Powerful voice & showman. 20********************

  • Inoubliable intro...Génial !

  • This is played every morning when i walk into my office !

  • Elvis was a great singer saw him when in 5th grade he didn't live much longer after that.About him being a king he was not and he made that clear. At a concert some girls held up a sign you are the king.Elvis stoped and said their is only one king that is Jesus.Enjoyed the post God Bless.

  • Nervous as hell, but no other entertainer could get away with that entrance! Only Elvis could, and not look totally ridiculous!

  • the best of the best

  • dont overlook ronnie tutts contribution to this

  • Not impressive of the late great Elvis.

  • your right elvis is one of a kind i was 6 years old when he died too bad i never saw him live

  • I grew up with acdc, the doors, u2, the stones, beatles, acdc and the doors my 2 favorite bands. Elvis Presley is the King of music. Elvis is my no.1 and always will be. There simply has never been anyone like him before or since and i dont see anyone ever coming close to what he had. I had the privilage of seeing elvis live in Evansville ind. oct 1976. I was 10yrs old. I have been to many concerts since and have never seen anything like the king. And that was at the end of his life. to c 1970.

  • This is Elvis the Great King of rock and roll

  • The 'REAL KING'.....

  • Fantastic job

    10 stars

  • great upload thank you

  • im a huge fan of elvis and ac/dc. rock n roll means a lot to me, in my eyes, elvis was always the king of rock, after that, angus tried to pick that up, ac/dc and elvis kept rock (n roll) goin!

  • @bramnokia

HAVE YOU EVER HEARED ABOUT JERRY LEE LEWIS???? HIS THE REAL KING! ACDC ARE FANTASTIC, I SAW IN UDINE AT MAY, AWESOME

  • how gracious elvis was to aknowledge roy orbison as the gratest singer in the world. elvis wasn't just saying this to be nice, it was a view shared by almost everyone in the music industry, and still is.

  • superhuman exactly, a presence never seen before! or ever again.

  • took me 2hrs to find this...lol

  • The way they constructed these shows EG The build-up music, the costmues, lights etc.. is nothing short of innovative. Not only was Elvis an amazing preformer, he knew how to be one step-ahead of the pack.

  • Elvis was a deconstructionist .. this fact is of equal importance to his vocal range...

  • brilliant!

  • All one has to do is listen to the power in his voice in 77 doing hurt, unchained melody and how great thou art to realize his voice did not "GO" BY ANY MEANS.

  • king king kinggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

  • THE KING!!!!!!!! *********

  • you say you have no friends....yt is all fake...yes you had me.... a real one..bút as you said it ur self....

'your my only REAL FRIEND RUBEN --BUT I DESERT IM SORRY....'

BUT IF YOU LOOK AT IT THIS WAY ALLSS...WHY DO YOU THEN HAVE SOME OF THE MOST FALSE AND FAKE PERSONS ON UR LIST...AND NOT ME....IM NOT THERE CAUSE OF THAT FACT....I CHOISE IT MY SELF..N WHY BLOCK ME INSTEAD OF TALKING OF THINGS IN A NICE MANNER COME TO ME!..ALESS FIND ME WHEN UR READY AND WE TAKE IT UP IN A NICE WAY...

  • Fantastic Video With a Great See See Rider From The Greatest Entertainer Of This Century ! Thanks for posting !

    TCB DANNY

  • How old was he in this film, 37? Heck at 38, I could still hit 380 ft homers in softball. But when I hit 40, 41, 42 and on, my bat slowed cause I didn't take care of myself. George Foreman's power never left. Elvis' voice woulda' never gone either had he taken care of him self and not let all his "boys'" and Parker kill him. But like Ali, he couldn' turn his back on the attention. Of all drugs he ingested, fame and noteriety were the two "pills" that killed him the most.

  • The only thing that happened to Elvis was age. You guys don't like to compare him to Mike Jackson, but the comparison is there. Michael hated getting old. The older he got, the more he hid.. Elvis didn't hide, but he got old and he tried to keep it together, but even the best drugs can't keep you young. Your body really starts to betray you after 40. Elvis toured to much. His diet sucked. He shoulda' fired The Colonel, the "mafia," and layed low at G-land. His voice still had 10 years left.

  • Brother, I understand you're point. Really. I've been hearing & reading about the "similarities between him & Elvis."

BUT, Elvis is in a league of his own.

Elvis NEVER claimed to be The King. The title was a result of his incredible ability to reach millions.

Michael Jackson became the "king of pop" as a direct result of his obsession to be recognized as the best of all time. He gave himself the title.

    THERE"S ELVIS & THEN THERE'S EVERYBODY ELSE.

  • @Phoenix7878 Some time another I heard someone call him king but, Elvis said himself that there was only one King.

  • @roquey44 Also michael jackson play-backed alot on stage, Elvis never faked it on stage.

  • The King. Amazing. RIP Elvis.

  • This is from San Antonio on april 18th 1972...great version!!

  • @shitbollocks Hi can you please confirm or not if when Elvis enters the stage it's at the Florida show.If you notice the band are in white at the start, then black.

During the film when Elvis is in the back of the car which is after the Florida show he seems to be wearing the same suit as here, which to me means they filmed the Florida show. They also filmed in Buffalo at the start of the tour {April} but without sound so as to get used to Elvis's movements.

  • The greatest !!

  • Could someone tell me whats the name of the intro song?!

  • space oddasy 2001 from the 1968 film of the same name

  • Also Sprach Zarathustra (Theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey

  • very good men

  • elvis is a genius

  • Elvis did research in museaums for the design for his jumpsuit somebody asked the conductor zubin mehta what he thought about elvis opening his concerts with 2001 by richard strauss he said he liked the idea [ zubin did a tv special about classical music influences on rock music ] .

  • Superb!!

  • elvis looks nervous has hell

  • wouah, fantastic !

  • When Ronnie Tutt gets down on those drums and Elvis hits that stage.......it's still hot after all these years!

  • haha tht drummin kinda sounds like beginnin of hot for teacher

  • go elvis

  • Elvis is a genius

  • Fantastic...

  • part of the video is rare but most of it is from the movie elvis on tour

  • No, this version was never included in Elvis on Tour. They used the Hampton Roads (Powder Blue suit) version of CC Rider.

  • This is how a KING enters.

  • I like that. "This is how a King enters". So true...

  • He is more than a king.

When you look at him with the others on stage, he seems superhuman in comparison.

I can't think of anyone who has or had more charisma.

  • @maryquant1967 there are a couple of people that have more charisma jim morrison and gg allin

  • @maryquant1967 your are damn right.

In 1972 I saw him in Madison and a few weeks later I saw John Lennon too.

Though Lennon was good Elvis was like a God, a supershowman with a powerful voice. Lennon looked like a school boy compared to the king. I dont mean to offendJohn but that is what I saw.
