I think the pilot may have likened it to the the F-15E because the F-15I is an E model with some custom Israeli-made avionics. Also, even though the F-16I Sufa is practically an F (Block 62) model, it also has a number of "home grown" equipment inside. So even if the F-15 is called an "I," it's really a customized "E." Regardless of what it's called though, it's still cutting edge technology that Israelis use to kick ass.

The F-15I Ra'am is the Israeli version of the F-15E Strike Eagle.

it's the same model like F-15E , but it has been changed a little by israel and thats why it called F-15I.
