First: when u made the buckets, hold Shift and click on it, it automatically goes in ur inven. Second: u could pick up the water when u were standing, u didnt have to go in the water. Third, u can just hit the block on fire and it goes away. :D

Dis has happened to me! I made A GIANT base over eh i would say 2000 trees, almost 4 months work! I was proud It had my house (made of wood) A Bakery, A bank, A town hall (luckily made of brick so it just kind of floated mid air) a library, a grocery store, a weapons store, 4 portals to teh nether, anyway I decided I dont have an incinerator I should build one! My being a dumbass didnt put a roof, One haywire firbale and BOOM into flames my base went. R.I.P Wolfeh teh wolf. :(

i fucking hate fire i just putt a wood block on fire 3 block away froum my house just 4 some light and my whole house was on fire the next sec it all ended good all the way when i was going to get all my stuff out of my chest cuz like normaly i had a lot of water in my house so it was all under water i had tp look tongs and take tings out of chests and i died 2 times and because all my stuff got splitted aorund in the sea cuz i builded it all on a island so thats my story :D

Man im suprised you battled the fire that long and kept up untill the end. what you had to do was block that lava and fast. then worry about the wood. if you try to save the wood all it will do is flare up again. you should have had those buckets already made you would have had more time to contain the fire. But dame im suprised you battled it that long.

just so everyone knows, its kinda stupid :P. when you see the first fire just hit it and it will go out just like that. problem solved. if you go to get water it will spread and destroy EVERYTHING! heres 2 choices.. 1. simply punch the fire 2. run to your chest, grab some iron, run outside, jump into water, fill your buckets, go back inside, poor the buckets of water(they dont really help that much), watch your house burn down. easy awnser..... -.-

lol my home got burned down as well.it was mostly dirt and stone but i was making a study/librairy and a fireplace along with wood sounded great.my stairs were wood as well.at the end i saved 5% of my study's floor,0% of my bookshelves(easily replacable),and luckily 0% of my stairs.but for me its more risky sicne i had a lava lab(a place were i experiment with lava) under my home.after stoppign the fire i lost my experimental underground lavaplace(fireplace but with lava) i used all my character

I don't get you guys, I've seen tons of people having a fire crisis like you and they put the water block directly on the fire, omg if you put the water block on the ceiling it spreads out alot and basically covers everything, also if you didn't think of that you could've just destroyed the wooden blocks to which the fire was going to spread so if wouldn't burn all the rest.
