  • Buddy was nothin but a sandbagger... guess he couldn't find the gas pedel

  • Diesel engines weren't made with speed in mind... but pulling power. I'd rather put the money in making a nice sbc 355 or 377 and put some good gears in the rearend. The floater rearend is a good rearend, but moser makes better axles and I'm guessing the gear in that floater needed changed. Most floater rearends already come with good derby gears in them and some don't.

  • what a waste of time and a waste of a good car.... plus the guy driving looked like he was scared to hit anything!!!

  • redneck weekend.

  • So did the Cummins win?

  • Did everyone get home before the sunami? because it looks like the camera man was filming this on a earthquake.

  • fcukin cars beating each other at 5 an hour

  • Been sitting for 2yrs just fired the ol car up still runs like a champ

  • ...the motor that will never die :0

  • A diesel in my mind would be a terrible engine for a derby car just because of the weight, all costs aside.

  • @dan0champ 1-Weight in big cars is good, 2- deisels run cooler, meaning it takes longer to over heat.

  • good derby car.. but the driver cant drive worth shit. thanks for wasting my time.

  • so who won

  • click play to see a stupid video

  • i'm shocked he was alloued to enter it with that engin it was bad ass don't get me wrong but still most derbies don't allow engin changes

  • @scottrjmatmsncom you must not know much about derbies then because almost every derby car has a diff motor in it and now days most ppl are dropping racing motors in theirs cars... Just saying... you'd be surprised of what ppl are allowed to do

  • retarted.

  • waste of a good condition old car.

  • crazy!!

  • yeah what a waste, put that cummins in a truck and do some work

  • awesome car but it was a big waste of time

  • bunch of sand bagging is all i seen wheres the hits??? that car wouldnt have lasted first 2 mins where im from!!!!

  • BAD ASS!!

  • the things a pieace of shit

  • @fattkattz55 THIS CAR WAS ALOT OF THINGS BUT A PIEACE OF SHIT WAS NOT ONE OF THEM

  • WHERE DEM BIG BITTY WOMEN AT!?! GOT SOMUH DEM DER TATER BISQUITS!

  • i wold have given him at least 2-3k for a good one

  • We know diesels are about torque, but they got to "hook up'. Not enough weight in the rear, and too much in the front. AND he can't drive.

    "

  • The driver fuckn sucks soo bad what a waste of a engine and car

  • such a waste of a cummins, shoulda just gave it me

  • @kawasakimx110 yeah i wish he would have gave it to me.

  • @will3x5 i think its a waist too but its still sweet!

  • Can't beat the smell of diesel fuel, last minute welds, and funnel cakes. Ahh I can smell it now.

  • NEWPORT

  • The car gods have reserved a special place in hell for anyone who destroys classic iron seen here

  • poor cummins

  • i dont really like cummins there good motors but that fuckin car is wicked

  • This stupid fucker can't drive a car for shit he fuckin sucks you don't use your nose like that an you don't need a cummins a bone stock 350 will do better than that cummins in a derby car an his car is a piece of shit he could have used a sedan an fucked them up

  • waist. what a fucking waist. nice fuckin job buddy, ya just ruined a classic. nice fuckin job.

  • I AM NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL. All this is is a bunch of driving around. That big hefty diesel made like two hits and with the front end. In my opinion these derbies suck. These dumb derbies arent exciting at all. All they do is spend a crapload of money and then pussy around the track. Go watch a real redneck derby where the cars actually perform smashing for you.

  • is he dumb for using the engine? or dumb for using the car? looks like both would have been worth some money :(

  • wow thats not even fare lol u have a huge ass cumins in a derby car when every body else has weak ass engines

  • @mrclaytonio, live aint fair, Chrysler imperial in a demolition derby will kick all the other cars asses, because its way stronger. there is no fairness, if you have the money why not build a derby car with a good engine.

  • i like how we are watching old crappy cars, and in related videos, Commodore Series II is there :L

  • what kind of car is it

  • @bafaro17 61 WINDSER

  • @k73mrviking Newport i was wrong

  • thats stupid to waste cars and engines like that, really stupid

  • 1500 motor in a hundred dollar car....the word money mus mean nothing to this guy,

  • goog thing about running a diesel in a derby is that you dont have to worry about them over heating if the radiator breaks

  • QUE HORROR, me gustan los Derbys, pero esto, se parece a las 24 H de Lemans, dentro de poco habrá F1 Diesel, puafff.

  • Looks like 36 is a pro sandbag'r

  • This is so crazy, cause i think that a car with a Diesel engine in it should not run well in a demo derby.

  • I would like to see a renault 19 rammed into dust by these dinosaurs. you americans so fortunate you have these beasts on junkyards we only have these european rusty soda cans on wheels.

  • i like all the people on here thinking its worth money when its not maybe my 6pack cuda i drive around in or my dads numbers matching 6pack 4spd super track pack plumcrazy superbee. and my dads buddy who does c-body restorations only wanted the power window tracks and motors and window vents And its a NEWPORT not a windsor. And actually iam putting a cummins in a 58 windsor as a driver. but for next year i will be useing a 58 desoto with factory fuel injection its 1 of 4 ever made

  • @440dart1 Man you have some sweet rides!!!

  • sounds like alot of bull shit to me!!!

  • it actually wasnt a waste at all it still fires up and runs. ctd forevver!!

  • wow.... wait a waste of a cummins..

  • @redroan99 yup

  • yea if i was a car this is how id wanna go out, with a big ass bang and crash

  • @jokermiester hell yeah!

  • better to hit in reverse that wat your whole front end doesnt break causing lack of steering driving motor running abilities

  • i hate demo derbys were they take out the shocks

  • thats sweet

  • i like demo derbies, but pre 1980 should be left alone and restored.

  • @NathansBackwoods I AGREE TO A POINT. THERE IS STILL ALOT OF 70'S UGLY OLD IRON OUT THERE. 60'S AND OLDER SHOULD BE SAVED IF YOU CAN.

  • @k73mrviking, 1975 would be a better cut off for cars, 1980 would be good for trucks, i have a 78 ford and i hate seeing those in demo derbies, i like some of the mid 70s Chryslers too, 75 would be a good cutt off.

  • that dodge would be a cool cruiser on the street

  • I LOVE DERBY!

  • @watpwns I know.... But it ain´t an excuse.

  • oilfield quit bitchin an we aint hillbillies were rednecks

  • Why waste a ´61?

  • everyone knows you should use the back of the car not the front

  • This is the worst derby video i have ever seen. I have been driving for years and i hate pansy drivers like this.

  • @chelseaduckett333 it was not about the driver. don't even know who he is. it's about the cummins in a derby car.

  • how could you do that to a 1961 chysler windsor....oh yeah your mentally retarded!!!

  • @Canadianstacey66 61 newport

  • @k73mrviking your still retarded for doing that to such a car....it looked great. easily sold for a few grand if you didnt molest it. tens of thousands restored. they are hard to find and damn hillbillies like you make it even harder

  • @oilfield666 Again this was NOT my car! just filmed it!

  • @oilfield666 thats right! it drives up the price so you trailer queens can sell them for more money!

  • @oilfield666 you kno its ppl like you that piss ppl like us off you get on someones video and bitch about shit if you cant deal with us "hillbilies" as you say i think most of us are rednecks a bit of advice quit bitchin

  • @oilfield666 Its a big turd theres a reason there arent many

  • @Canadianstacey66 it would be just as easy as a Monte Carlo :)

  • dude really needs to learn how to drive that dam thing....

  • @phillips0788 first time demo driver

  • wow what a waste of money.

  • @hondaman072 The guy said that the motor and car was free.

  • there is a guy from ohio had same thing cummings and one tons

  • good motor old 50s car, what a wast, did look cool though

  • i wont be building one this year gotta go to school, but i will be picking up my imperial very soon

  • @440dart1 bummer i was looking forward to watching you run the cummins in the imperial this year

  • that is one DEADLY Dodge!

  • big car

  • Maybe I should put a diesel in my derby car.lol

  • looks littlebit like my model

  • That is a badass car..but if you ever want to watch a good derby, type in Pleasant Hill IL Derby and watch any video. Some of the best built cars and motors that you will ever see. We also had an Imperial run on propane last year and that car was awesome. Last year there was a guy that cut the middle out of a limo and welded it back together.

  • @85Mopar I have watched some of them Bad ASS!!

  • wow those cars have some nasty engines in them jesus some oh those have to be making 500hp easily and they turn some r's

  • my buddy ran a 76 buick riviera with a 455 in it and got 2nd place in the heat and 1st in the feature....he took the motor out and only runs 70's buicks with the same engine every time...!!

  • @quadGOD12953 I have ran the same 383 in the last 5 derbys.

  • u dnt kno how to drive

  • @dipasqualet44 It was his very first derby! One hell of a car for a first build.

  • @k73mrviking how well thats is one hell of a car good luck with the derby

  • i thought diesel engines wern't allowed for demo derbys

  • nice! thats somegood extra weight! you need like a 3.08 gearset in a 9 inch ford to get some reverse speed. Are they going to let you run it this season? I would like to see you bring it to nebraska. we have a pretty damn big one down there. We had a few guys from gillette (coalwhiners) come down for it lastyear

  • Damn dude, sick derby car.

  • Now that's a derby car

  • @dieselpower4ever that's what i thought

  • 64 imperial is a full framed car the car i had last year is a subframe car

  • the sub frame is what makes a imperial a imperial. it mounts to the frame and motor. you can take them out and put them in a Newport like the cat that won last year. i was just wondering if you were still going to be able to use it with the cummins.

  • cummins power!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome car! 5/5

  • going to run some airshocks on the front of them imperial to combat the weight and maybe turn the pump up some more to make it really rip now that i get to hit with the front with the imperial

  • @440dart1 can't wait to see it. are you going to be able to run the sub frame with the cummins motor? hope so.

  • yes i broke a tierod end a torch some reddy rod and a welder good as new lol the only downside to the cummins at least with that car was i couldnt go as fast as other cars could in reverse but it ripped forward but i didnt want to hit hard with the front because it was so weak but i could get into 3rd gear easy but i had the front suspension solid so no movement because i was worried about breaking the torsion bar from cranking them up and the extra weight of the engine.

  • bad ass!!!!

  • im all mopar and that is one of the coolest things ive ever seen in a demo but he needs to learn how to drive. i use to demo here for over 6 years just got to be to much work for 20 minutes of fun.

  • the driver said that this was his first derby. He got better as time went on.

  • thanks for the props guys tradeing my 68 valiant for a nice 64 imp. going to run some high 320ish gears, turn the pump up some more maybe, going to put a custom valvebody and call it good. as long as the car holds together when those chevy 350s are running 275deg plus and barely run my cummins will start to shine

  • bad ass. can't wait to see it run!!

  • Excellent 5* !!!

  • nice shots

  • That's redneck right there!

  • Very cool build, but it really pained me to see that '61 Chrysler destroyed, they are one of my favs.

  • amazing car dude... i have always wanted to run a deisel.

  • dude tht was awesome. tht was a good build. i cant wait to see ur next one.

  • huge waste of time and money why not sell the diesel, buy chevy sb and 375 and a decent car and try again i dont know where in the hell this is but catch up

  • wow i did know other parts of the country were so much more advanced than us here in Montana and Idaho! not. The motor was free and so was the car. It was his first derby and the motor is going in a imperial next year. I thinkl it was a hell of a build for his first one!

  • not being smart ass just real he could sell that drive train and get some good shit

  • cool. I guess the guy and his family own a mopar salvage yard and have plenty of the old cummins lying around. The car was a cast away from a place that restores old mopar and he was told it was not worth restoring. The cummins did pretty well but the car did not hold up.

  • And some of us WOULD consider a Cummins and a 1-ton axle "good shit". How about you build what you want, and we'll build what we want. If we all only built with what you consider "good shit", things would get kind of boring pretty quickly. There are other engines besides the dime-a-dozen Chevy smallblock, and I think that being original is a lot cooler than doing the same damn thing as everyone else. But you can feel free, and maybe someone will be impressed enough with your car to post it on YT

  • Drum wheels in the rear?

  • @Thinker669 A DODGE I TON AXLE!

  • Grate video man I got your Email and waiting for my YOU TUBE check to send stuff out

  • unbelievable all that time to build that thing only to wreck it, lol..and it was a classic too I could have used those angled headlights for a custom car too!!! great vids keep'm coming!!

  • Now thats a derby car!!! Wow!

  • cummins power

  • hell yeah!!!

  • i take it you havnt been around to many "GOOD" diesels yet

  • I plan on running a ton truck rear end under my 80's and newer fomoco vehicles.

  • Only thing about diesel is when they die it's hard to get the engine going again.

  • @CoachWagner09 uh no they ain't....turn the key and it fires back up

  • Never seen a newport with a 1 ton truck rear under it. I spied that massive rear within the first two seconds of your video. Nothing like a good demo derby.

  • What kind of old car what that?

  • 1961 newport.

  • nick look over here

  • That was a nice looking car!

  • i would of drove that to school

  • Oh man It would be my daily driver. This almost pisses in my corn flakes.A waste the car is now front heavy and useless.

  • rumor around the shop there could be more than one ctd's next year

  • Sweet!!!!!!!!

  • were a mopar famaily and a good friend of the family restores c-body chryslers multible nats winners and he had no intrest in the car.

AND THE CUMMINS WAS FREE THANKS DAD IT WAS FUN AND FUN BUILDING IT

  • iam the owner iam 22 never built a demo derby car b4 learned alot and obviously wasnt doing to good it was the only car that i had i was willing to use. i really didnt get over the chicken shi$ mode until late in the second round. by the way the cummins ran with no water in it the second heat and will be back out next year if i can find an imperial with some healthy braceing like the other cars

  • If that was your First derby car build you kicked ass!!! Glad you found the video!!! can't wait to see it next year!!

  • This is major SAND BAGGING!

  • How the hell is that sandbagging? He was hitting cars and dodging others, not sitting in the corner waiting. I don't get how the car starts out, and is soon a wreck, but then the video goes back to the car being in good shape again. Bad editing. And during the last half of the video, the right front wheel is about to fall off, but during the first part, when the trunk is all crumpled, it looks okay. I don't get it...how does the wheel fix itself?

  • @justforever96 the video is just clips of the car. its not in any order, just footage of the car during the derby. relax it's ok. and for the rest of your comments not sure who you are directing them too.

  • I wasn't trying to complain about the video really, I just was curious about the wheel that looks like it's falling off, but then is okay. I doubt that that's really what it is, but it looks like the wheel is okay when the car is wrecked, and like it's falling off when the car still has it's whole trunk, etc. I love the car anyway, although it's too bad to see such a nice old machine getting wrecked. As for my other comments, "sandbagging" is to "shutty935", and "Cummins" is to "ddoubled8129".

  • @justforever96 cool. the car ran two different heats and he might have done some work on the tire between heats. I agree he was not sandbagging. it just was his first derby and trying over come the awe of it all. he lost his drive line right before he made it to the main. a good showing for a first timer.

  • this thing is beast

  • that car is sweet. had a 81 olds run in our this year taht had a factory desiel. car was horrible but it ran awesomely

  • Like watching paint dry, absolutely slow and boring,if you want to see some fun racing look up Banger Racing videos from UK.The cars you just pointlessly wrecked should be in a classic car show not being recycled into Hondas and Toyotas.

  • that was a good motor choice. Diesels dont make too much heat compared to a simlar size gas engine, and i bet that thing could run a long ass time with no coolant seeing how it wouldnt start knocking or pinging...it basically runs off the heat it makes.

  • I agree, but my derby budget doesn't have a extra 3 grand to burn. But it still is cool to watch.

  • well that would apply with any diesel engine....hell even getting a beat to shit diesel jetta for the 4 banger class would be tight. And i know the feeling. I went in one demo so far, with a free toyota corolla and i didnt do anything right, my battery broke, and the fuel pump burned out cuase it was sucking air (the tank was messed up),....if i ever do it again though, im doing it right..

  • I wonder what it would have done in a good car? Who told him that car would be good and who told him the front would be hard?

  • He would have done better if he would have just replaced the stock bumpers with some shock mounted bumpers from 70's mopar.

  • cool stuff.

  • Only us Montana derbiers...

  • Nice video, I have never heard of anyone running a diesel in a derby, but why not.

  • awesome!! thanks for sharing. I've always wanted to see a turbo diesel in a derby car

  • What a waste of a rare, finned Mopar.

  • I would have to agree with you. I love to crash cars but some you just have to save and this is one of them.

  • That car would've been real tough had he changed the factory bumpers. They look like chrome skins and that's it. I guess when you're running against IMP's too.
