  • solo not loud enough

  • I always thought the studio at " the whistle test" was small !!! So how come the claps !!!!!

Manhattan Transfer was arguably the best signing quartet of the times. They're just an outstanding A Cappella as well. Two of my favorites of theirs are Twilight Zone - just superb... (remove the space in the URL before the .com)

  • Laurel is good but Cheryl Bentyne sings circles around her. Cheryl has so much more of a jazz feel in her vocal dynamics than Laurel did.

  • Man' Transfer have got to be one of the most under-rated groups ever. God only knows why! l've had a vinyl LP for more than 20 years now and l treat it like gold!

  • @crankbv1 I thought I was the only one still hanging on to their vinyl LPs!!!!

  • @46619TAB Many thanks for your reply; but hell no,you aren't. At my age vinyl is about all l have left to hang on to and to start building a CD collection now would be financially prohibitive, even if l could still find the stuff l like, examples being...Man'Transfer, Leon Russell, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Billie Holiday, King Oliver, Mills Brothers, but to mention a few. Plus the sound quality of good vinyl exceeds that of CDs. No thanks,,l'll stay with it, as l suspect will you!

  • @crankbv1 I will never give up my Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith, Led Zepplin, Moody Blues, Beach Boys ET AL as well as various classical composers that I have on vinyl! I've converted a few to CD for the car but there's nothing better than a good sterio system, a glass of wine and a hot summer night on the deck listening to good vinyl and looking at the stars!

  • @46619TAB Thanks for that. Sounds good to me..A man after my own heart. lncidentally, you list Fleetwood Mac,.As it happens,l have an original 45 of Albatross. lf that wasn't written with a view to crashing out with a few cans l don't know what is...Stay good !

  • They are so groovy and such cool cats. You think . . Thanks for posting this on You-Tube. They have been around for quite a while. They were here many years ago in D.C. Their voices and style are to die for. You think. . .

  • Watched them perform last night at Thousand Oaks. Man! If I can sing half like that in my...uh, now, I'd be happy! B-)

  • @adduxe

  • I love Manhattan Transfer and love this song! Thanks!

  • Terrific! Funny, but this sort of became their signature song, and probably came as a surprise to them!

  • Love it !!!!

  • Just added this to my 1976 playlist !. I have an hour of music for each year 1950-1975 and each of the past 100 years will play for over an hour.

It's all quality harmony and orchestral pop like this. Manhattan transfer and 200 more atists each have their own playlists as well.

Thanks for this upload and to all the uploaders who make music happen here.
