I forgot to add... you can tell if the shoulder is correctly turned into the off drive/cover drive because the bat HAS to come from behind the body to create the correct shape. As the front shoulder turns, the bat direction alters so you can hit straight and not "in to out", or with only the back shoulder. Pause this vid on the drives at the top before the hit and see. A shoulder turn into the shot is KEY for making a world class drive consistently
Jemile.. you might want to make sure his back foot doesn't rotate round too far as it seems he is hitting with his back shoulder instead of leading with the left. You can see if you freeze the vid, that he is pushing hard with his bottom hand and slightly into the leg side... this is usually a sign the right shoulder is too dominant. Also explains why he likes to cut and play off his legs :) Also... on YOUR demos.. be careful you still LEAD with your left shoulder by turning it into the shot.

you guys need to checkout the batting technique i use. i call it the powergrip, its all about holding the bat differently, which stops your footwork being out of syncronicity with your shot. its all about balance and power and timing, needless to say im designing a bat with the balance required . this footage is on youtube under "goodwin powergrip" . you will enjoy the fact that i havnt had to copy anyone, cause the past is over, leave it where it belongs !!!!!!!
young guy and his front foot shots - The guy is playing the ball inside out...notice his bat at end of the shot. His backfoot at the end of the shot is bend...which means he needs to straighten it to go over the ball...he is also moving after playing the shot means lack of balance..
Young guy and his backfoot - Some of his square cuts are played to far away from the body and his head not going towards the ball after the shot....he is also trying to slice the ball....
@pureprotea1 it is not a good idea to change his trigger movement.....trigger should giv the batsman rhythm.....he needs to learn first how to play from the base before mastering trigger...he needs to learn how to play each shot correctly first, then judgement of length and then quick hands, feets and reflexes and then trigger...
the 2nd person is tryna mke a foool outa us fr him ihs a bowling machine ih goes whereeva u wnt it to so dts y he didnt move his legs he gt into position. he knew de balll is alwais going dere
guys the reson we see the batsman plays the shots so accurately is becuz they are told before the ball is bowled to play a straight drive or a cover ... so obviously the shots look good
@TheCricketSchool mate your only good shot is the first one. .you say 'I practice what i preach and play straight'. WTF most are cuts and clips off the pads. learn the definition of straight nob head
i don't know why you guys are being so tough and complaining. Yes it is important to get the technique right, but in a match if you think to much you'll just get out and it is important to make solid contact.
I agree I think he's touching on the fact you go square onto the ball whereas most players stay side on and play away to their body I think that's right but yeah your head position is good.

captainhookhand 2 years ago
the last guy, has played first class cricket with an average of 40+ are u sure he does not know how 2 bat ?
TheCricketSchool 2 years ago
yes i'm sure. because he doesn't move his feet and he stands so still
captainhookhand 2 years ago
He's showing you the arms/shoulders motion of he off drive, not the leg movement.

I like your cover drives but technically the rest aren't great.
No balance
You have a closed stance which means you're shutting yourself off balls that bounce on the leg stump.
I dunno wtf u were doing for the last 5 secs
naren147 2 years ago
@naren147 -the stance is not closed

i agree, the stroke on 10 seconds, the follow through doesnt look good on the eyes , but the flick off the pads the ball before was brilliant
