Man when I saw this the first time on TV when I was like 7 or 8, I didn't even know English yet, and I was only watching TFs for maybe like half a year without knowing what they're talking about. I remember watching Prime die ON TV!!! I ran to my Mom who was in the other room sewing, and dropped to my knees with my face and arms in her lap, crying like crazy! Telling her that Optimus Prime died. Oh my God, that was so horrible to me. I was upset a good couple of months. :*(

Optimus fought off 3 Decepticons in the Forest Battle in TF2. He fought Grindor, Starscream, and Megatron. He ripped Grindor's face in two with the remains of his swords (they became hooks). He ripped off Starscream's Arm, and Megatron got badly injured but survied along with Starscream. Megatron came up behind Prime, stabbed him, then shot straight through him. Optimus died and Starscream and Megatron got away. At the end Sam uses the Matrix of Leadership to bring Prime back.

I think he means the scene almost in the beginning when Optimus foughts against several Decepticons(without any tuning). He was alone and kicked their asses without any problems buat in the first movie he had many problems to beat Megatron.

In the original Movie Optimus died from his wounds from the big fight between him and Megatron. In a two part story at the end of series 3 a madness plague was found in space at the same time Optimus's ship was and using Optimus's body as bait the plague was unleashed on the transformers and in no time spread to everyone, Optimus was brought back to life as those left unaffected needed a leader and at the end he unleashed the wisdom stored in the Matrix to destroy the plague once and for all.
