  • I saw em a couple times godzilla

  • this song's about Jack Del Rio.

  • i like the chorus

  • this is one of those albums that got a little over ambitous, thank god for that

  • Fantastic song. Blue Oyster Cult is the hard rocking, most lyrically gift, BEST sounding rock/metal/bluesy shock rock band EVER!!!! Long live Eric and Buck!

  • Damn! I love this song!

  • sounds like their saying dorits

  • Why are BÖC soooooooo underrated???

    The whole Imaginos is AWESOME

  • @SP4LFe Having growing up in the 70s BOC was confused with

devil worship. Plus the bikers didnt help with their image.

  • i have this vynil :) It is special to me

  • Weak Song? The only weakness in this Album is that BOC didn't record all of it. But Del Rio's Song belongs up there with the best of them.

  • This is probably my favorite song on Imaginos. it just puts me in a good mood!

  • @GeminoSmothers --ditto, can't stop playing it

  • No, cb, the Leo I'm referring to is my old buddy that we became friends through music, especially BOC, and hanging out drinking, going after hot 80s "rocker" chicks, nice cars, etc. Oh, and by the way, BOC has been for about 40 years!

  • It's LEO's fault! (Old damn Leo)... lol

  • ok im dumb, LEO? a few to many drinks on new years.. there all good...its BOC not RATT or POSIN or some crappy band that live for 2 years..are thy saying that BOC got there sound from SAMMY HAGAR / VAN HALLEN give us true BOC fans a break thy stole the sound from BOC...BOC has live FOR OVER 20 YEARS ..HAPYY NEW YEARS TO ALL BOC FANS!!!!!!!!

  • This song has a lot of Sammy Hagar / Van Halen in its sound ... can anybody else hear it?

  • @ghostAurora I'd say a bit more Bob Dylan in its sound. Try singing along with "Hey Mr tambourine man play a song for me..."

  • @ghostAurora but it was before Van Hagar-----get it?

  • I like it

  • The only weak song on Imaginos IMO... it doesn't really fit.

  • there are no weak songs on this cd

  • I still live upon the edge of chance...for 20 years or more!

  • BOC was all my dad listened to in his truck when i was a little girl,,, I know every lyric from every BOC song ever made. Now if they would add more BOC songs to Guitar Hero I would be a happy kitty.

  • i heard from someone they are making a version of guitar hero with some of the songs from the first guitar hero games, including godzilla

  • same here

  • I think they've had two BOC songs in Guitar Hero if you count the cover of "Cities on Flame".

  • As TOMMY/QUADROPHENIA was with the Who, DARK SIDE OF THE MOON was with Pink Floyd, IV was with Zeppelin...IMAGINOS was with Blue Oyster Cult.

  • best fuckin ever!! imaginos is genius!

  • I've been a longtime BOC fan and seen them over 15 times...but sorry to say I just could not really get into this album. I left it in my car cd player for a month to make myself listen to it/like it as much as the others.

Eventhough the musicianship is good...I'd definitely rate it near the bottom of all their other albums.

This song here seemed to be the best in my opinion but this album doesn't touch the others.

  • Did the band make any videos using any material from this LP?

  • sorta. a video for astronomy, without any footage of the band in think, aired in great britian. pretty sure it's on youtube if you're interested.

  • As the verse kicks in, try singing "Hey Mr Tambourine Man, play a song for me...." :-)

I love this album. Great to listen to on headphones, whilst high (not that I do that anymore).

  • @DKH1103 How the hell did you come up with that?

  • My fave band of all-time. Own their whole catalogue - wonderful.

  • F'in Great song. It rocks with the best of them. It's really too bad they don't play songs like this live. This would be a great live number.

  • Although this LP is a bit of an acquired taste/elusive delicacy for even long time BOC fans; the sheer talent, musicianship & studio "Generalship" of these experienced "Veterans of the Psychic Wars" shines through. Eric Bloom's distinctive vocals really resonate on this catchy, slick number. Although it would be interesting to hear this with less 80's style percusssion & a heavier mix,the addictive chorus/vibe of this track is mesmerizing, esp. after repeated loud listens on a quality stereo.

  • @SPAZZOBOXER agree w/everything, but i kind of like the 80's style it has

  • "Imaginos" may have the longest/most convoluted genesis of any "Theme" record in the History of R n'R. Lack of A&R support, MTV oriented/greedy/trend obsessed Execs., contractual/personnel issues, content objections, & all manner of production/marketing disagreements, probably doomed this "Concept" project from Commercial success from the start. It subsequently became the Oyster boys' last Columbia release. If they were going to market a single from this; "Del Rio's Song" should have been chosen.

  • @SPAZZOBOXER well arent you an encyclopedia of facts? :) thanks for the info - but for a single, i always thought "blue oyster cult" was very catchy and maybe coulda made waves on rock radio of that time, as well as "astronomy:. this particular song is the most cheerful, thats for sure.
