This is real sad, this poor bear who should be roaming millions of square KMs is confined in a cage 1/millionth the size he needs, he is going mentally ill this is the cause of this behavior.

There is nothing funny about this, the Sad part is humans who have posted on this video thinks it funny.

This poor animal is just like all trapped animals in Zoos around the world, it's FREAKING Animal Prison!

I think there's a name for this type of behavior that results when an animal loses its sense of purpose and is bored out of it's mind. I saw a polar bear in Calgary that would pace endlessly in the exact same place for most of the day. Sad really.

You call it moonwalking, others call it captivity illness. What this polar bear is doing is known as sterotypic behavior, which these animals will engage in if they are denied the stimulation they normally receive in the wild. I know you probably did not know this when you posted the video but to laugh at this is the same as laughing at a mentally ill person.

i thought the exact same thing. what human would like to be stuck in a 10x10 foot room for the rest of their life. they'd go insane. you look at animals in the zoo and you cant help but feel sorry for them the look in their eyes is just heartbreaking. my opinion zoo's should be banned. most animals cant breed in captivity, also life expectancy decreases too. only good thing is that endangered species are protected.

Uh... you may be right in some ways, although i don't agree, but it's not sterotypical behavior. That would be someone acting in such a way that is stereotypical of them in some way. Forexample, a nerd hacking a computer, or an arab being a terrorist, or a girl in a mall being airheaded. It has nothing to do with bears doing the moonwalk in a zoo. First thing you think when you see a girl in the mall is "Oh she's an air head" If she really is, then that's stereotypical behavior.

Firstly, not hypocritical. It would only be hypocritical if I kept a polar bear in captivity myself. And secondly, not bitter either. I feel compassion and therefore do not find animal suffering entertaining. But I guess you have to be an evolved human being to feel compassion.
