Joeb0 - regarding spelling and grammar. Hey folks think about it! Is it acceptable to play the wrong notes (spelling) - or play the chord progression out of order (grammar) and then expect your listener to "know what you meant"? Music is language (a universal one, actually). Shouldn’t we be as careful in our spoken and written language as our musical language?
I have this amp - it is beyond my needs and I will be selling it shortly.
Jimmy, there's spell-check now in every browser, therefore people can now correct their spelling and grammar. Also, the reason I stress on spelling is to ensure that people understand what people are saying. We have to remember that this is youtube, and people will want to read the comments in their own language. if there's spelling mistakes or abbreviations , some words will not be translated at all with a translation program like Google translate.
@joeb0 You used incorrect grammar. You said "if there's spelling mistakes or abbreviations..." Your sentence should have been capitolized, and instead of typing "there's" you should have put "there are" because "there's" means "there is" but since the sentence is plural, that's incorrect. You're a hypocrite.
@joeb0 Did you ever stop to think that all of these comments which are not related to the video could be more confusing than grammar? When someone decides to watch a video, why should they be forced to read a bunch of petty comments about grammar and childish personal attacks? You are talking about spelling being confusing. I don't think spelling is the problem.
1 question dude...that guitar you got there, could you compare it with a rr3 or rr5 jackson? im just thinking of buying a marshall 100dfx with a rr5. please reply...
I've been wanting a Marshall MG100DFX Combo amp to play out in a band with, but wasn't sure if they were loud enough or even sounded that good like those older Marshalls!!!!
@TheBGrogan they really do, it's amazing, if you crank the volume amp the amp sounds even better :D at least it's been a really great amp to me, never failed in power or tone, totally recommendable to buy (Y) ;)
I just got the Marshall MG 250 DFX today, and I can't seem to get a heavy sound like the guy in this video does with the MG 100DFX. I also used a BOSS MT2 Metal Zone with my 250 DFX, but still i couldn't get that heavy rock n roll metal sound. Should I get the 100DFX? Keep the 250? Get a better distortin pedal? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP
@fritosofdoritos the advantage of the mg100dfx is the variety of tone and efficiency, so if you want a better tone, then sell your amp and buy the mg100dfx. On the other side you got a sensation of more power with the mg250dfx, because of it being bigger and having a dual system, although the amount of watts remains the same...
Anyway... i'd strongly recommend you to buy the mg100dfx... at least i did :P
@fritosofdoritos He's probably just playing throug something else, lol...can't really tell if he's using the marshall for REAL or not...these vids of people trying to sell their shit is only so they can sell whatever is in the vid...nothing ever sounds the way they portray it to be...line 6 does the same thing, its bullshit and a lot of consumers fall for that crap...I'm sick of it.
@swon171 i think its just improv, but songs that sound similar to what hes playin there would be save your love by great white. another song similar to that would be is this love by whitesnake
Rob Math should just do all gear demo's from now on. He's so versatile!
Also, I'm sick of people talking about how "bad" this amp sounds. I played one in a music store the other day and I got some pretty darn good tones dialed fairly quickly. It just goes to show that technique and knowing how to use your gear can let you sound good in any situation.
And that's what Marshall amps are all about - superb sounds, superb playing. What a great amp and not a tube in sight. Thanks for the great demo buddy.
And that's what Marshall amps are all about - superb sounds, superb playing. What a great amp and not a tube in sight. Thanks for the great demo buddy.

it's a realy great Amp i like it alot and i might even buy it, but i don't know why people say it blows. the Od channel is pure awesome and the clean is just beautiful
i have 3 freinds who have bought this amp, they all regret it. i almost bought it, im glad i did not, i bought a peavey valve king and am changing the driver for a eminece legacy. the fact that its marshall means nothing. play many amps, tube, hybrid, solidstate, b4 u think about buy this
do everyone know what pickups the player in this video has? I have this combo and i havent so great sound :-( I use preamp digitech rp7 and I think that will use just this amp. And is it possible turn on and off delay in this combo with some pedal? with original it cant.
I bought this amp a couple of days ago, and I get a great atmospheric Gibson jazz-blues tone using my Epiphone Flying V Goth, neck pickup, very low drive setting, and 40% of digital reverb. Instead of using pedals, it's going to become my main amp with blues and hard rock tones, and I'll use a AB footswitch with my old cheap Delta amp, because the Delta have a great-sounding vintage fuzz setting on it. No effect pedals, everything on footswitches, I have a great range of 6 tones at my feet.
I baught the Hdfx, i was just wondering, why would they put delay/chorus on there, like there is already delay and chorus, they could have put a better effect there, but i can't really think of any other effects to put there :P
i love how my mg100hdfx sounds no where near as good as this. i think i got a faulty one because everyone i know who has the same head as me gets great tone
i have this amp but it doesnt sound anything like this, It sounds all messy and the fan is very loud. I play an epiphone Zakk Wylde custom guitar and its a prettie good guitar.
Is my amp broken in some way? Because it really does not sound half as good as what it displays in the video.
i like how on the first video he plays master of puppets n on this one he does cliffs of dover wit the delay...i am so excited i just bought the head of this amp n i def dont think ill regret it...unless it comes broke...haha no jinx now lol
It's in the Frequently Asked Questions of the website:

yes but i would like to know if it can be so loud as well, so when my brother plays drums, i could hear my guitar *i mean 50 w amp... what you think about that?
Dude, I have the 50 watt amp just like that and it will take your head off. I also have a 100 watt all tube amp and it is not that much louder. As a rule you have to triple the wattage to double the volume -- it is a physics equation that I will not post here!

Half Stack you can put in huge speakers that you can stack, this is a combination of the head and 2 small speakers. The half Stack you can put a stack speakers under the head yourself. The exact specs of which speakers you can add on you'll have to see on the Marshall Amplification website.
this is a nice demonstration. i checked this demo before i bought mine. now i play my guitar without any gadget because of this awesome amp. you may also check my "guitar only" videos for additional demo of this awesome amp :-)
Tubetubetube blah blah blah............Some of the best players, with the most full, saturated and lush tones have played through solid state amps. As far as I'm concerned it's entirely down to the player, their own individual touch and how much you're willing to practice to make what you can get sound professional. I don't have any issues with the dudes tones here and I'm sure if need be, I could gig with this amp. It's no substitute for what I've got, but sometimes you have to make due.
thank you, some people don't realize that what one does with a guitar is with practice, nothing else even if they want echo or sound effects but thats a bonus. it's about the playing, not the amp. if someone practices on a well made acoustic guitar they can sound as good as on an amp on clean mode.
LOL i brought one today it is seriously the best amp even kicks the all mighty 212 100 watt fender amp i love marshall! screw it rob math is awesome too
i play classic rock-ad/dc-mostly so i use less overdrive, but sometimes i like to play harder, like megadeth or john-5, then i use second step (overdrive button in) for me is enough and i'm very happy using it i mean price/quality
zakk wylde epiphone or gibson you can drop c it and drop g it as with a floyd on most ibanezes you cant do that, plus teh wylde lp has emg actives and cool paintjob on teh zw lp
dont get this amp. i modded mine and just used the panel as a preamp. fair enough wen i dun that it sounded gud but i coud hav had a half stac 4 the price it cost me
Aw man sounds bomb. The guitar and the the amp can play so many varieties of music. This is next on my 'To Buy list'. I just bought a Ibanez Grx20 series next its this amp then another Ibanez acoustic guitar.
its must be the cable or your guitar maybe cus i got that amp too and is great ;D u too must know to controll the excess of gain with palm mute or just dawn the volume
I have this amp but for some reson it gives me crazy feedback, how does he keep so clean is he plugged in to the amp directly? or is he using some pedals with it? I plug my guitar straight to the amp but theres to much feedback and it sounds terrible, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
the main causes normally in solid state amps for lots of feedback can be the guitar. Id check the pickups through another amp with the same gain level .. thats what happened with a friend of mine. If thats the problem, take it to a good guitar shop. Also if your playing live and thats when it only ever happenes then think about turning the gain down as the amp produces its own gain as the volume increases. Most noise supressors wont stop the initial feedback and only gets rid of buzz ive found.
i love it how he just takes off with that incredible solo and then realizes he's in an amp demo, and like steps back shy. this guy is really amazing. and the amp is kick ass.
0:30 and so on sounded to me like Petrucci's :) you know, when everyone shuts up and let him do a solo without drum or even bass, it sounded to me like that. I am SO getting this amp!!!!
they are both 100 watts. the mg100dfx has 1 100 watt celestion speaker and the 250 has 2 50 watt celestion speakers. the mg100dfx is better though because the fan on the back of the 250 gets really anoying :)
I have to record these amps all the time, and in the right hands they sound fine, but the top end is fizzy and horrible. I just put up with it, or re-amp later.
Hello, I had a little question. What is the difference between the Marshall MG250DFX and the Marshall MG100DFX?
Also, what price range should I expect to find these two amps in normally?
NausherwanSaleem 6 months ago
@NausherwanSaleem
MG250DFX = 2speakersx50 watts.. which is 100 watts
MG100DFX = 1speaker which is 100 watts...
DFX stands for Digital Effects

XxinvadeXtradeXx 2 years ago
Half Stack you can put in huge speakers that you can stack, this is a combination of the head and 2 small speakers. The half Stack you can put a stack speakers under the head yourself. The exact specs of which speakers you can add on you'll have to see on the Marshall Amplification website.

It's no substitute for what I've got, but sometimes you have to make due.
arod1989 3 years ago
thank you, some people don't realize that what one does with a guitar is with practice, nothing else even if they want echo or sound effects but thats a bonus. it's about the playing, not the amp. if someone practices on a well made acoustic guitar they can sound as good as on an amp on clean mode.

hey would you recommend it for small-medium sixe gigs?
fredericiscool 3 years ago
i use this amp with epiphone g-400 at home.
i play classic rock-ad/dc-mostly so i use less overdrive, but sometimes i like to play harder, like megadeth or john-5, then i use second step (overdrive button in) for me is enough and i'm very happy using it i mean price/quality
grzegorz206 3 years ago
i don't play metal, but maybe i can buy it because it's the only mARSHALL Amp 100watt at 368euro, it's the only marshall not expensive
RobertItaly92 3 years ago
That's some funny stuff man, you totally know how to play. Hope to get there someday. Cool.

do pedals [i.e big muff] sound better when put in valve amps???
tiddlywinks98712 3 years ago
depends on the pedal - with the big muff along with many other distortion pedals, it certainly does sound better with a valve amp.
Blompcube 3 years ago

Gusiworms 3 years ago
I have this amp but for some reson it gives me crazy feedback, how does he keep so clean is he plugged in to the amp directly? or is he using some pedals with it? I plug my guitar straight to the amp but theres to much feedback and it sounds terrible, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
kimsterjimi 3 years ago
the main causes normally in solid state amps for lots of feedback can be the guitar. Id check the pickups through another amp with the same gain level .. thats what happened with a friend of mine. If thats the problem, take it to a good guitar shop. Also if your playing live and thats when it only ever happenes then think about turning the gain down as the amp produces its own gain as the volume increases. Most noise supressors wont stop the initial feedback and only gets rid of buzz ive found.

g4nk5t4 3 years ago
at 6 seconds in the vid, do you need a wah pedal to do that??
foxracing150 3 years ago
no. it's a pinch harmonic
g4nk5t4 3 years ago
he's good! which is better... the 250 or 100?
slojo88 3 years ago
i love it how he just takes off with that incredible solo and then realizes he's in an amp demo, and like steps back shy. this guy is really amazing. and the amp is kick ass.
pabloguitar1 3 years ago
0:30 and so on sounded to me like Petrucci's :) you know, when everyone shuts up and let him do a solo without drum or even bass, it sounded to me like that. I am SO getting this amp!!!!
takujei 3 years ago
is this louder than the mg250?
ThisIsWar257 3 years ago
they are both 100 watts. the mg100dfx has 1 100 watt celestion speaker and the 250 has 2 50 watt celestion speakers. the mg100dfx is better though because the fan on the back of the 250 gets really anoying :)

pareja3 3 years ago
0:30 to 1:05 sounds really cool!
Can anyone tell me, to which guitar player this style of playing refers to?
At the beginning some kind of blues here, and then it sounds like Steve Vai, isn't it?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers, from Austria

I have to record these amps all the time, and in the right hands they sound fine, but the top end is fizzy and horrible. I just put up with it, or re-amp later.
