who the fuck gives a shit, if you live in pal regions you grew up with 50hz and its fun to you ,and if you grew up in ntsc regions you grew up with 60 hz and its fun to you, who the fuck cares about tiny borders on pal!
@MLGRacoons Dude, I grew up with PAL and it sure as fuck isn't fun for me, the skewed aspect (it's not just tiny borders) is pretty annoying, but it's nowhere near as bad as the speed difference in gameplay and music (Sonic the Hedgehog in NTSC is a completely different experience, and undeniably superior)! SEGA are assholes for putting absolutely zero effort into localising most of their games for PAL, at least Nintendo were much more thorough in this regard.
btw i ve played ntsc street fighter edition and is so stupid , everything goes so fast , if u used to be a pro on pal u are a pro in ntsc , u just win a bit faster but acerall thats so lame , blanka jumps 3 meters up and down in 0.3 secs... japs need to learn about physics
same thing on wipeout the pal version rocked for its handling , in jap version the antigravity effect was looking more like a glitch rather than effect ...
PHYSICS makes the game look real ALONG WITH THE RIGHT COLOR !
PAL has better picture quality because NTSC has fewer lines and the signal leads to colour problems. many have heard the "Never The Same Colour" this comes from when signal quality was bad the colours would change from time to time, which explains why NTSC tv's have a tint control. PAL has no colour problems but games often have borders and slower music and gameplay.
@matthewwood2010 Am I correct PAL is Phase Alternate Line which is every other scan line being opposite in phase to the previous line to cancel noise. SECAM being (French to English) Colour Sequence With Memory giving better Colour quality in France, Eastern Europe, parts of Africa etc. In either case the mains frequency is used to lock transmitter and receiver in sync.
@Nivicoman yep, the colour phases alternate every line. i dont know about the mains frequency locking though, the H-hold and V- hold controls lock the synchronisation, mainly because the mains is never exactly 50 hertz and would cause problems. This is why you can play a NTSC system on a PAL TV by adjusting the V and H-hold controls (but the colours will all be wrong).
PAL provides more colour information due to more lines but NTSC has a slight higher frame rate. Compare 625 lines/50Hz to 525 lines/60Hz. And that means IRL 576 lines visible and 25 frames. NTSC 486 lines and 30 frames. So NTSC looks a bit "pale" for us used with PAL or SECAM.
they changed it because any intro that begins with a blonde, blue-eyed "cool guy" punching out a black guy was considered racist... lol but the japanese decided that, white people had nuffin to do with it.
what the fuck are you talking about? if pal-games are not reprogrammed to run faster they DO RUN 17% slower than it´s ntsc counterpart. And pal does NOT have better colours. the only thing where pal could be cool was it´s higher resolution, but again nearly all companies refused to reprogram the games and the results were that huge black borders that had to fill the lines that the pal-norm had more than it´s ntsc counterpart. In other words, in gaming PAL totally SUCKS.
im sorry about my words, but wikipedia says, dat ntcs was earlier then pal, and that pal cause it was introduced later, better was.
It says to that pal and ntcs only can control the colour, and the speed is under control of another system where pal and ntcs are linked to.
and the reason I prefer pal is because i life in a region where we have pal. so sorry about that, i use the DVB-C method thats the digital signal thats used in europe. i heard that is was atsc in america, so, there both crap
what really sucks is that during the 8 and 16bit era and also throughout the PS/ Nintendo 64 era nearly all games were sooo inferior to it´s ntsc original because the mother companies always were from ntsc regions and they did not bother with going the efforts of giving PALs the same quality. Even PS2 games like Devil May Cry are so fuckin slow because of the 60hz/50hz difference. Believe me, once you see the original ntcs version in action you will understand. I got used to importing my games.
don´t be bitter, mod your consoles. for example the Mega Drive is really easy to mod. you have to pay only a few bucks and you can do it yourself and all the Mega Drive games run in full screen, full speed.

He is playing the PAL version at 60Hz, the game is running too fast.
If you play the actual NTSC copy of Street Fighter II Champion Edition at 60Hz it doesn't run much different than the PAL Version does at 50...

Pal is getting better here in the uk in 1996 with the nintendo 64 the differences were about %1 slower on my system than the ntsc counterpart
the Gamecube is barely even slower than the ntsc even at 50 hz and with loads of games there supporting 60hz
the wii is 60hz in pal, same with all the gameboys, ds, and the psps

Yep. PAL versions get RGB!!!
zedrein18 2 years ago
NTSC versions get RGB too if you have an RGB cable.
HRVDNT 2 years ago
Yeah, but you have to hack the cable together yourself and you need a monitor that will do RGB...those things are easier said than done.
zedrein18 2 years ago
Not really. I bought mine from a store. Works fine with NTSC games.

@svcxac soo wat oe is better? 50hz or 60hz? please reply
skaterz500 1 year ago
@skaterz500 The original frequency that was intended by the developers is better, which is 99% of the time 60Hz. So 60Hz.
svcxac 1 year ago
@svcxac more 60-55% since america and japan aren't the only countries with game studios :)
