played my way through some this on an emulator a few years back, and i was really impressed. wish i had bought it back in the day. it's just lacking a good tune though.
I didn't realise you had to throw a load of skulls into that pit, then a beast would appear that you have to throw fireballs at. This game is awesome.
nono, thats not it I am afraid,.. i still got the game in my collection but i have to look for the cassette. Hope I can find it again and tell you the title.
Thank you the feedback. It was important in my childhood too.. This game was magic, I dreamt about it.. Other one that was magic for me too was Rex.. someday I´ll make a longplay of it...
This was my favourite Speccy game (48K) back in the day, I played this for hours, usually not getting anywhere much! lol I remembered that there were subtle differences between the 48K and 128K versions (a friend of mine had the 128K +2), but no music in this game at all! They had to do that to do all the cool animations, which I still love today!! Got to love the colour bleeding too! :)
amazing game ,the spectrum version is the definitive version and uses the spectrum to its limits ,i love playing this on my speccy emulator on the wiz ,totally reminds me of my childhood ,last boss battle is still very cool
Although the grfx look pretty cool in this, I'd say the Commodore versions are faaar superior, & tbh this game is nothing like any of those versions, either Amiga or C64. Not quite sure what's going on in this tbh, it does look like a completely different game entirely to the other Myth's I know & have played. Where's the sword for a kickoff? & what's all the kicking everything to get the items? I suppose they just wanted different ways of playing on the many diff versions. Looks nice anyway.
gameplay over graphics, how the different ports are completely differntgameplay wise compared to nowadays. nowadays the worst format just has a worse graphical copy of the game which makes it instantly inferior
I just uploaded a segment of "Myth" on the C64, having been a huge fan of the Amiga version I was only made aware it was on C64 recently. And now I see it was even on the ZXSpectrum. Man it's amazingly smooth, the graphics are super, they really made the best they could from it.
The animation is suberb! When I saw the C64 version I became disappointed, because the gameplay isn't the same and the graphics are worst. The amiga version is very cool, the graphics are great, but I still prefer the Spectrum version 'cause the gameplay is perfect!
COMMUNITY! LET's MAKE A REMAKE OF THESE TWO VERSIONS!
I agree! I have this game in my vast collection of Spectrum games, and as yet I have not completed it.I think I have come close to doing so,but I must try again after watching this great video.
Wouldn't it be good if they did do a Remake of this classic game!!
I was a C64 user at the time but this version is fucking beautiful :) Shows what the Spectrum is capable of in the right hands! :)

@daystate12345678 And is unbelivable the fact that the stages uses only 48KB of memory to run... It´s less than a picture in the web!

@daystate12345678 Oh.. I forgot, the medusa appears in Stage 2. I have the video showing it.

anyone remember another mythology game on the spectrum which was sorta like a maze? (still a side scroller)
InfindecimalSlice 2 years ago
Maybe you´re talking about Athena. That´s the only Mythological Title I remember to be side scroller and maze game.

This game is magic! It´s very addictive. I think it´s perfect to be ported as a cellular game.

The Amstrad CPC is an exact replica of the Speccy version albeit with slightly different colours.

Versions for other machines are much worse. This is the best.

I agree! This version is very innovative.

Very impressive, seems more like a sequel or remake compared to the other versions, it's so different. I wonder if this was made later.
