I find it so much easier to control on the PC, yes. You can map the Dreamcast buttons anywhere on the keyboard so you can make a layout you're comfortable with.
I also prefer emulating it for the graphics, too. My PS2 version looks awful on a HD screen but it's really sharp on the PC.

how do you switch to disc 2...I beat the 1st disc, pressed open and inserted disc 2 but all im getting is a message saying its the wrong disc?

I don't find the switch that difficult, to be honest. Maybe because I've played this about a hundred times more than RE5 and 4 put together xD
