  • make ur own opions, but it's a foul..haha :)

  • IMO that should always be a no call, he gets fisher in the air and runs into him on purpose, nuff said.

  • Joey Crawford officiating... any suprises?

  • Irrelevant discussion, because Barry traveled first.

  • Common knowledge: Refs don't like to call fouls at the end of games. You wouldn't see Kobe trying to draw a foul with 2 seconds left, he KNOWS he's going to get fouled so he takes the best shot he can.

  • BTW LOL at this dude in the end, the Suns got robbed last year in the Spurs series? Oh really? Tell the jackazz players to not get off the bench and onto the floor during a feud! That will keep them from getting suspended! Better yet don't get your azz whipped when they all come back in game 6 lol. Suns never played D so no title, sorry dude on the video you do hate the Spurs, but you are right here Barry was fouled.

  • yea n d rox vs la 08-09 playoff series d were foulin yao for basically standin there and takin a perfect charge feet to the floor n hands on side

  • Its Sad to see how reffeere call can change the result of the game or make the people questions about it

One of the reasons that i like the basketball and noo soccer is because in the soccer the referee can change the game in the last second, and this is suck

  • I guess the refs made it up to spurs fans when they didn't call the foul to give the mavs had on carmelo anthony in game 3 of the 2nd round in the 2009 playoffs.

  • probably the refs did not want the spurs to take their first-ever lead at the buzzer to win the game. the spurs never led the entire game (no lead changes), tied it five times (4, 43, 45, 65, 67), four chances to take their first lead (43 - 43, 45 - 45, 67 - 67, 93 - 91), and wants Lakers to get to the Finals quickly.

  • i hate this douche bag he think he knows about basketball but he doesnt all he does is make himself look gay and that was a continuation and some times they dont call continuation so get over it

  • First of all, that wasn't continuation, and second of all, he traveled first. Good no call.

  • I would of been soo pissed

  • ...and a heartbreaking game if fisher did not guard barry if barry swishes a 3-pt at the buzzer to give spurs their first-ever lead and a win. Spurs almost trying to have similarity to the Game 4 of the 2002 WCF when horry swishes a 3-PT to give lakers their first-ever lead since their first basket of the game at the buzzer to win vs the kings.

  • if their was a foul than fucking call it or their was a travel thank FUCKING call it god damn the nba is nothing more than a greedy faceless corporation the nba is sad

  • barrys a dumbass shoulda jumped into fisher in the air.

  • Yeah that would be logical, he could have easily gotten that damn call, but he did not sell it at all and tried to dodge it.

  • @garrett2828 so u dont call a foul unless the player flops?? ur being the dumbass

  • lol..that was a foul but barry traveled after the foul commits..

  • look, im a lakers fan and have been since magic and kareem and YES fishers shot hit the rim and YES fisher also fouled brent barry and YES the spurs shouldve gotten free throws and they probably wouldve beaten us that year after that game. david stern DID NOT WANT the spurs in the finals, he wanted a lakers/celtics matchup and the politics were on OUR SIDE. i admit it, we didnt deserve that win against the spurs and YES im a laker fan.

  • I respect ur opionin but nba is not that rigged/planned its not supersimple to say "i want lakers to win" and expect the refs to do dat cus nba is a proffesional sport not wwe..i mean wat if the spurs were beating the lakers by 37...think about dat

  • Maybe we wouldve won, maybe we wouldve lost. I just hate it how we get the royal treatment just because were the Lakers. I think If Odom doesnt come back, then we will be losing by 37 to the Spurs come playoff time.

  • the play before that, fishers shot just barely glazed the rim and they didnt reset the shot clock for us. the spurs wouldve been forced to intentional foul with only about 5 sec left with the lakers having the ball, and this play right here would have not even happened. therefore justice is just served by them not calling a foul fisher on the last play of the game.

  • Spurs should have won the nba championship... and they arent cheaters they are the best team in the nba

  • i mean the spurs. mybad i was thinking of the celtics

  • the celtics even cheat in live dude. i was going for the game winning layup with iverson i made OBVIOUS body contact and there was no call. and i missed the shot too.

  • fuckin retard. you guys dont know shit.

if brent barry pulled up and was in the air while derek was in the air then it would've been a foul. ur not suppossed to take a step after the opponent comes in contact with you.

  • lol, didn't know you were racist...remember me?

  • but that guy is a lakers fan, at least its a non biased argument

  • fisher hit the rim on the play before that. the refs called air ball. the barry play was a non-issue. nobody wants to admit that. spurs are pussies.

  • it was fucking foul my spurs would have won

  • im glad they didnt win otherwise no one would watch the finals, it would be fuckin boring -face it

  • common... like this caused the Spurs the series... they lost 4-1 man... geeze peopule... move on...hehehehh

  • Talk about the ball hitting the rimm with d fish shot. then the spurs would of had to foul kobe.

  • besides, kobe got only 12 free throw attempts in the series on 120 freakin shots! duncan, parker & ginobli combined for 77 FT attempts on 240 shots. they only had twice as many shots as kobe yet got over 6 times as many free throws! heck, one time kobe got fouled while he was UP IN THE AIR taking a shot, yet the refs didnt call it a shooting foul. that's ridiculous, esp. the way post refs today call continuation

  • dude, I replayed it on tivo like 4 times. odom hit the layup into the backboard (it hadn't touched the backboard yet), & the shot hadn't started to fall either, therefore, no goaltend. & I know players travel all the time in the nba, but duncan's was blatant. picked up the ball & walked in all the way from the 3 point line. & if you watched the game at all, & were unbiased, you'd realize the spurs were getting all the calls, esp since parker made sure he hit the floor on every drive.

  • LAKERS WON GG NOOBS

  • these guys need to get off the spurs dicks. they keep talking about the no-call like it mattered. are these assholes blind? did they not see fisher's shot hit the rim? did they not see odom legally block parker's layup & have it called a goaltend? or did they not even watch the game & only catch the last second of sportscenter & start bitching about how the poor little spurs were "robbed". the whole "crawford was officiating" deal is being overblown by the media anyways.

  • typical l.a fan. look, odom goaltended, no question. fischer's shot hit the rim, but genius do you remember the rest of the play? duncan had the ball anyways! now, a last second play, refs probably won't call that, its shitty. it was not a shooting foul, but they should've called it. it was evidently a foul, barry made a smart play, fischer made the commitment to attempt the block. bad ending to a good game.

  • Agreed robertsteffey barry traveled, fisher shot hit the rim. I disagree that stars get extra treatment that is why Kobe shot no free throws that game. They were being just calling the game fair on both sides of the ball.

  • it wasnt a foul cuz fishers feet are on the ground when barry SHOULDERS FISHER! so offensive foul? no...no call was the best call...these guys should just stick to football or basseball and get some people that actually know basketball...these guys are deuche bags.

  • how come for every1 that says it was a foul nobody even acknowledges the play before? skip bayless on 1st and 10 said that the refs handed the spurs game 5 but the refs gave the spurs that last shot it was painfully obvious that the shot hit the rim plus the spurs get away with fouls all game long

  • barry traveled...........And Fish shot hit the rim....Barry shouldnt have had the ball.........Your not going to get that call at any level except the NCAA this year.

  • Barry didn't travel... if u look closely, you see that somebody passes to him, pump fakes, gets hit, then shoots

  • It was a travel he caught the ball pivoted with his right foot and then took a step with his right foot before he dribbled :48 travel

  • Barry should have had the ball just as much as anyone else on the floor. Blaming it on Barry is bullshit considering the Spurs had all their highest percentage 3-point shooters on the floor which would include Brent Barry.

  • Its als oclear as day that ginobli fouled sasha on his pick.

  • game 5 its over no way kobe lets game 6 happen guts no need to beat a dead horse its over move on

  • We heard from the horses mouth, the NBA said it was a foul. End of story.

the NBA chose the lakers to win like they chose the spurs to win last year, like they chose Jordan to win all those other years.

It's a business, and fans are just cogs in the process. get real.

  • Ya and Fisher's shot hit the rim that would of reset the clock, the refs are just old dudes, but i think what lost the game for the spurs was lack of rebounds, shooting up bricks from the 3 point line all game. but go lake show.

  • When Barry pumped, Fish jumped to Barry's right, blocking a right side pass to open man and Barry's shooting hand side. As Fish went airborne, Barry moved away to his left. Thats his path. Under basic rules II2A, an offensive player can't change his path to his right and move into the path of an airborne player. That is a faulty plan for drawing a foul under the rules. Especially when Barry should be making a play, not traveling & lunging into a defender that had just hit the rim ending the game

  • all of u need to shut the fuck up and stop living in the past and focus on the future yeah it was a foul but yet barry was traveling so what it was handled adequately i agree just shut up and get ready for the next game in L.A.!!!!!!

  • The Spurs, in truth, wouldn't have had a chance to tie or win the game in the final two seconds if not for a fortuitous non-call on the previous possession.

Television replays indicated that Fisher's shot with 6.9 seconds to go grazed the rim before bouncing out of bounds off Robert Horry's leg, meaning that the Lakers should have had a new shot clock instead of asking Kobe Bryant to hurry a fadeaway jumper after the ensuing timeout.

  • The NBA acknowledged Wednesday that a foul should have been called on the final possession of Game 4 in the Western Conference finals, which would have given the San Antonio Spurs a chance to even the series.

With the benefit of instant replay, it appears a foul should have been called," NBA spokesman Tim Frank said.

    -YAHOO SPORTS

  • fire joey crawford he didn't call a foul because he hate spurs remember what he did on tim duncan

  • Absolutely ridiculous that the NBA allows him to officiate any Spurs games. It was a foul, clear as day.

  • joel crawford wanted dead or alive i give million $ to a person that brings him to me!

  • first of all i'm a celtic-laker fan.. but how can you call the '99 (east conf finals) larry johnson 4pt play and not call this last play a foul????!!!! daaamn, can we check who were the refs calling that '99 game?

  • i like the way ginobili looked at berry after the miss. "wat the fuck are you complaining about, lets get the fuck outta here"

  • im a huge spurs fan!!!!!!

it was a foul, but i have to admit the lakers probaly would've won because they had some bad calls to. i agree with sports caster on the left about last year with the suns

  • Ok... damn it with all the stupid comments. Here is my conclusion: This is not an issue. Lakers won fair and square. Here is my reason: Barry travelled ok? You dont deserve to watch basketball if you didnt see the travel. P.S. Great respect to the SPurs for not making excuses. I applaud them. Not so great respect to the whining fans who wont shut up. Now, if anyone has an answer to what I just said, make sure it MAKES SENSE. ( search "Barry foul or travel" to see it more clearly)

  • Barry travelled. This is no issue. Check his feet. If that's not a travel, then you don't know basketball

  • Yep, and Barry traveled before the foul as well. His pivot foot moved up and down. Lots of non-calls at the end of the game. Was Fisher's call more serious? Yes, but don't blame it on the refs. No game is going to be perfectly called. I say it was handled adequately.

  • NBA is rigged. They want a Lakers vs Celtics NBA Finals. Its so obvious!

  • hey youngturks, How come you guys dont make a video with the title.."Did the shot hit the rim the play before? because it did and that should of ended the game..why dont you guys talk about brent barry traveling before he took the shot? he move both feet before taking the first dribble, talk about that please.

  • Watch the game and you will see that the call was balanced

  • The NBA F'ING SUUUUUUUUUUUCKS!!!!! I really LOVE the game of basketball but I'd rather watch the WWE than the NBA. I told ALL of my friends that if they watch they'll see the NBA favor LA & Boston in the playoffs. What happened?

Kevin Garnett shoves a ref (automatic suspension according to the NBA rule book) but nothing happened. Last night the Lakers got a lucky, lucky, LUCKY call that probably won them the game.

  • i remember Game 2 of 2008 NBA FINALS

    @ Boston 108, L.A. Lakers 102

Celtics 38 Free Throws, Lakers 10

Leon Powe 10/13 FTs made for Celtics, Lakers 10 FT attempts

ridiculous and called a fixed game?

Lakers could have won it and should be a Game 7 for that. sucks and too bad.

  • i remember la lakers vs the sacramnto kings when kobe elbows bibby to get the ball

and i remember in 2008 vs the utah jazz, the lakers finished the series with over 90 fouls.

    talk about rig

  • yea, i remember that lakers are very fortunate of not getting a foul there in G6 WCF 2002 vs sacramento kings.

i think the crowd believes many refs are cheaters of something. they just don't boo on visitors for fouls or something, the refs are.

that's why Joe Crawford was suspended for 2007 Playoffs for throwing out Tim Duncan for laughing in the 06-07 RS. Tim Donaughy is probably be close to get to prison; actually the game in 2002 ur talking about.

  • Yeah, they are inconsistent fouls. The ref were pretty much helping the Spurs throughout the game except that last play, because they are in the home court, and they are "afraid" of the boos from the crowd. Was that a foul? Sure, but if the refs were consistent, that call wouldn't have matter either way because they would be down by a lot if it wasn't for the refs in the first place.

  • Basketball is a fatally flawed sport.

Arbitrarily enforced fouls that are almost pure judgment calls, the extreme scoring parity seen in almost all games (only the last two minutes of any game matters), etc.

There is no reason to like such a flawed sport.

  • finally somebody said it!!! thanks tyt!!! spurs are a bunch of floppers.

  • Go Spurs! :)

  • fuck the lakers.

  • the ref had money on the lakers, can you blame him for not calling the foul??

  • Do you agree that there were inconsistent fouls called? Let us know at theyoungturks(.)com
