I remember the bus to Bangor when I was a kid. We were poor and it was the way you got to downtown. The magic of spring in Maine...winter beautiful but always seems too long..still...Cold vinyl seats and the sun that warmed them up through the window
Thank you, Patty, for sharing your incredible gift. This song reminds me of my late mom. We took the bus everywhere when I was was a kid. She even wore a kerchief.
Does this song make anyone else feel like crying because it is simply one of the most beautiful songs you have heard? Wow is what comes to mind when I hear her sing and then the piano--just wow--mind blowing really!
not only does it make me feel like crying, but more often than not i actually do... when she starts in with the "sun, sun, sun..." I lose it every time.
"Burgundy Shoes" We wait for the bus that's going to Bangor In my plaid dress and burgundy shoes In your red lipstick and lilac kercheif You're the most pretty lady in the world Sun The bus driver smiles, a dime and a nickel We climb on our seats, the vinyl is cold "Michelle ma belle", the song that you loved then You hold my hand and sing to yourself Sun sun Sun sun Sun sun sun sun
@mistermut It makes me think of my mother, too. She always wore bright lipstick and scarves over her hair when we went out and she loved to sing. She passed when I was 12.
this is so beautiful! I'm not crazy about "Children Running Through"... it's taking a long time to get close to. I'm much more fond of 1000 kisses but this song and Trapeze are just so touching, like "Rain" or "Nobody's Crying".
I'm seeing her tonight for the first time in concert, I can't wait!
I don't know what it is about this song, but it makes me cry every time I hear it. It's such a simple, perfect evocation of my idea of a child's mind.
My favorite thing about this song is how there is a moment of capturing childhood from the little girl's perspective...when she just repeats the word "sun", well, it's like taking ecstasy or something...takes you back to when the blue sky was just enough, a miracle all by itself, beautifu bit of time travel...sure i appreciate that stuff NOW, but there's nothing like those innocent eyes of the little one looking at it...
reminds me of my mum in the seventies , i miss you mum ,everyday

This song always reminds me of when my mom and I would go on random day trips when I was a kid. Love it.

yup, I'm a f*ck*ng genius, ;P
- Just backing you up on the "sun" instead of "listen", that's all, since it's my favorite song by Patty

yeah i love it too :)

I don't believe she's singing sun - it's listen. This is one of my favorites that she does.

She needs a better sound check. You can't hear the vocals clearly enough on this.
