I was only a little kid back in the 50's, but my mom loved this music so I heard it everyday. Now at 63 I just love it. The music of today is really awful. It's not music..just pounding of the guitar and nonsense. Thank you for posting this.
They had good music back in the day, that's for sure. They also had nice cars. Not so sure about what was fashionable though (i.e., clothing and hairstyles), in my opinion.
Oh what a great tune! Whenever I hear a cover, I immediately change the station!! When the Sisters covered this song, I put them on the same list I later added jane fonda to!
Unfortuneatly, the Moonglows were victims of Allen Frieds payola. If you look at the credits on some to their records as to who wrothe the songs, Havey's name is on there along with Fried. He never wrote a lick of the song, but got credit.
@mrooster721 Wow, do have this wrong! Freed took these guys from Louisvlle and shaped them into what arguably became one of the two or three greatest vocal harmony groups of that entire era - the other two being the Platters and the Flamingos. Yes, Freed took songwriting credit, but that's how it was done then with a bunch of kids who had no money top pay for promotion and publicity. Freed showcased them and Harvey Fuqua, who died recently, gave Freed all the credit in the world.
Love The Moonglows, Harvey Fuqua is one of my idols, but its Bobby Lester singing lead on this, with the passing of Harvey last year, i think Pete Graves is the last member living, RIP Bobby, Harvey, Billy & Prentis
haha damn i remember when my man was here all he do is sing this song . hella missin him . alloldies reminds me of him . love u baby . Ignacio Gonzalez 02.14.1990-01.14.2011 . always and forever .
@momwitatitude I am w/ ya on that one and I will be 40 something! I agree w/ another posting who mentions that the music of this era (including 1970s-1980s) was and will be 4 ever the very best compared against the trash wannabes of this age. I grew up listening to so much of this and other genres of music. So cheers to you for great taste in music!

@GumatzPotrzebie I am w/ ya too! You can listen to what ever you want to listen to and say whatever you want to say! We can be any friggin' age that we want to be and have an account. I realize that this has become a dictatorship...but damned! I love those born before 1975. But even then.....
Maryleslie100. Doo wop is way before my time, yet it is my favorite music. Any feeling person becomes young again in the face of it's sweet, unabashed intensity. After all, that is the way we experience the world when we are young. And good doo wop takes us right back there whether we are 24 or 70.
Its amazing how these songs transformed into the songs we have today in which there is no respect for girls, and other people, truly, i think the music today is a disgrace and shouldn't really have the privilege of being called music.
The Moonglows are the kings of Doo-Wop! Harvey Fuqua is my idol it saddened me when he passed away in July the man was a genius and was responsible for, The Spinners, Jr Walker & The All Stars, Marvin Gaye, Ann Bogan, Shorty Long, and Johnny Bristol, not to mention New Birth in the 70's, i think 2 of the Moonglows are still living, Pete Graves and Alex Walton, Bobby Lester aka Robert Dallas died in 1980, Billy Johnson died in 1987
These were the "good old days"! I was a teenager, crusing on friday nites, all the drive-ins, cool cars and hot chicks! This music takes me back to an entirely different era. I am Blessed to have been born in the 40's and grown up in these times.
I'm only 26 and I have always loved doo wop. I wish that this type of music was played more on the radio as it used to be. I'm mexican american and I grew up listening to doo wop. i love it and always will. way better than music nowadays. for sure!
Soul singer, songwriter, record producer and record label executive Harvey Fuqua, who founded the R&B/doo-wop group the Moonglows, and discovered singer Marvin Gaye and others, died Tuesday, July 6th in a Detroit hospital at 5:15 PM EST. He was 80

@JennelleBelle Fine. Thanks to the internet, you have an unlimited supply of this music and can dress however the hell you want. And, thanks to freedom of choice, you can refuse all of today's social, technological, and medical advancements that make our lives easier. Here's to shortened lifespans, African American and female suppression, the constant threat of nuclear war, and good music! Times sure were simpler then....

Really takes me back in time if for only a moment. Nice to have that short trip considering half the time I forget names now, forget where I put my reading glasses 10 times a day, etc. For a short time we are 20 again!!! Thank you Doo Wop!
@maryleslie100 I am 62 and remember these songs playing on my sister's record player. She is 4 years older than me. This is the best music ever. Always remember maryleslie: Age is not a destination, but a journey in life. Age is just a number.
