It's Wassail, and wassail is actually a yummy, warm, spicy, apply drink, like cider. Wassailing is when you'd go door to door singing, and after you finished at each house, they would give everyone a cup a wassail before sending you on your way.

But wassail is not another word for caroling.

It was always tradition when we were kids to pop in the VHS of Claymation Christmas and Garfields Christmas (taped off of the tv) and watch right after Thanksgiving dinner.
