  • 1973's "A Passion Play" was my absolute favorite progressive rock album of all time...Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull did it better than anyone!!!!!!!!!!

  • Never imagine that I would like much more to hear Jethro Tull now then in my youth. Thanks for posting!

  • Les critiques sont des cons. C'est leur métier d'écrire des conneries. A passion play est l'oeuvre d'un génie, et quand les critiques seront morts et oubliés, la musique continuera de toucher les gens.

  • this was a pretty good song. i really enjoy the Hare part. ill have to listen to this a few more times to get crazy about this song. what an epic prog master work though. ill be sure to buy this at the record store for a few bucks. cool stuff good work Tull.

  • das ist eindeutig das beste von tull. auch musikalisch ein hochgenuss !!!

  • les critiques n'ont pas aimé ?... moi j'adore c'est le meilleur de Jethro Tull !

  • I've always wondered what he says at the very end, as it starts to fade out. It sounds like, "Sleep! Everyone!", but that's just what my ears pick up. No one I've encountered has any idea.

  • hail son of kings, cross your fingers in the sky

  • i did not like this at all in 73 at 20 i thought , weres aqualung? now 2011 , i like it

ian also has stood the test of time , passion play stands, my favorite tull lp

benefit and thick as a brick buy anyway without any pot or booze passion play

    is good still thanks ian

  • Aah the summer of 73 trying to convince my dad that this was classical. He'd always hear this blasting from my bedroom(poor man).Lucky for me Close To The Edge paved the way.

  • @TheTherese3

Wore "Edge" out - musta played it 500 x one summer. Parents could not relate...BUT one day came home from high school and saw Dad totally digging my Dark Side of the Moon side 2 LOL!

  • the end is so sick especially with all the apocalyptic imagery!

  • thats is the train from which i came, on the platform of my old shoes"...........ok..maybe the critics were right...lol..jibberish...i think not

  • Love the chords & key changes on "10:08 to Paddington". This track should've been longer.

  • @bagpuss170363 agree, one of the best parts of the song, but only 1 min...

  • genius comes in many shapes and forms..this music moved me in in 1973...and still does today...thanks again aqualung

  • i must admit at first i didn't really liked, but this is fucking genius

  • I keep noticing comments about "Tull fans" not appreciating this album. I have loved Tull for about 35 years now, and and all I have to say to that is what the fuck is wrong with you? lol

  • I believe to be able to enjoy this Masterpiece... you must go trough a long proces... and this is the album you find at the end... Nothing gets better than this.

  • To have the privilege of attending a sixth form knowing that my education will be free for 18 - 21 and beyond was a taken. It was a covenant. Now I weep for this generation. I grew with this music in the background I never knew how lucky I was

  • Possibly the most overlooked and under-appreciated MASTERPIECE of the entire prog era... Thanks for posting!

  • never a more versatile rock artist ! damn shame ian anderson never got the credit he so rightfully deserves!!! definitely my all time fave. and a good man to boot, check out ian anderson house, this is the only rock band that i have ever heard and really loved 90 percent of their work.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 5.03-8.48 my fave Jethro Tull moment ever

by the way, did you know that Skating Away On The Thin Ice Of A New Day was originally meant to be a part of this album?

  • @mircea1910 If you liked that sudden rush of solid rock intrumental as your fav. Tull moment ever, you should also like in Minstrel in the Gallery the sudden rush of solid rock that begins at 2:20 and is there for the rest of the songs' 8:14.

  • This song is really intense. True art, the album itself should be on display in a museum, for all eternity.

  • "A little of what you fancy does you good...or so it should". Love that one.

The acoustic guitar work on this album is really superb

  • Thanks for putting this up - have not heard it in 25 years - parts of it give me

    goosebumps !

  • Here's the everlasting rub: Niether am I good nor bad * I'd give up my halo for a horn.....and the horn for the hat I once had!"......poetic genius!

  • "But my wings have just dropped off....

..the everfire that guards the ever door..."

    Simply the BEST

  • It gets better every time I hear it. This is more than just an album of songs. It is a classic rock masterpiece!!

  • @Shpilkish

    absolutely true.

i played the album everyday for almost 2 years.

i bought the album twice and later the cd.

    MASTERPIECE

  • this is pure geeinus comeing from the least appreicated band of that era. Aqualung1989 thank you gor posting the entire album on utube, without an video that takes forever to download.

  • i need a joint!

  • Very well done. Very smooth transitions between movements. Thanks,

  • no, thank you

  • I don't understand why it was so panned at the time. it's a great album, with great lyrics. this part of the album is my favorite 'I would gladly be a dog barking up the wrong tree...'

  • Side B is Ian Anderson's and Jethro Tull's masterpiece. This work holds up so well, more than three and a half decades after its release. Every Tull fan I knew loved it, including me. Critics be damned! Thank you Auqulung1989 for keeping this music alive. It's been years since I heard it; no more turntable.

  • the best i love this part! lyrics are excellent!

  • Hey thanks for this great trip again. I lost this to a pawn shop about 10 yrs. ago. I think I'll go out and get the CD again!

  • The absolute Tull masterpiece.

  • Neither am I good nor bad, I'd give up my halo for a horn and the horn for the hat I once had.

My all time favourite line from my all time favourite album! Simply love it.

  • Fantastic, very hard to find this anymore

  • Dude, I love you.

  • What an anthem!

  • You're very welcome Juan. I noticed you uploaded quite a few terrific songs, most of which there is actual footage of that particular song from a concert during the time the song was first played (even a few from A Passion Play). Thank you..

  • Well done my young friend!

  • thanks a lot =)
