  • @000jacb Mine do too - I had one pick up the sound of my cell phone ringing - very confusing, lol. It only happened for one season though before it was replaced with other sounds.

  • his voice is not harsh. i love the sound. it would be a joy to hear that everday.

  • @SaxxonThespian Thank you! I am quite proud of him.

  • he is beautiful. love his singing bless him.xxxx

  • What a lovely Canary and I love his song. Next video ask the dog to wait his turn;) LOL

  • just lovely! thanks for sharing with us!

  • great- my birds love to sing along

  • James Serpell, director of the Center for the Interaction of Animals and Society at the University of Pennsylvania, says, "Parrots are the primates of the bird world. They aren't content to sit on a perch and sing." If you love birds, contact a bird-rescue group in your area to learn how you can foster or adopt (and properly care for) abused or neglected birds.

  • I like better the canary singing in the backgrown.

  • the sound is litle low,but I read to it's because you need new camera :D,nice canari after all.

  • i wish i could shoot this bird

  • Very nice, I have an American singer, he sings really nice. I want to get a waterslager one day

  • American Singer canaries are the greatest birds ever. Mine lived for 13 1/2 years, was the healthiest, most exuberant, adaptable pet I've ever owned. The pet shop owner warned me that it might take 2 wks. for him to adjust & start singing. He sang his head off in the tiny cardboard box on his way home from the shop! He drove all over the USA w/me, propped up on a pillow in the front seat w/a lap belt around his cage, looking out the window & singing. His long song was simply breathtaking.

  • Spanish Timbrado is the best ? Maybe individuals but not all . Some timbrado sing like mockingbirds in love . Nah American singers are medium range , more pleasant to the ear.

  • iYİ YETİŞTİRMİŞSİN AMA SİGER BIRAKTA SİNGER ÖTSÜN MERAK EDİP MALİNUA SESİ DİNLETMİŞSİN GENDE BAZI MALİNUA NAMELERİNİ İYİ KAPMIŞ BRAVO TEBRİKLER

  • Sorry guys i dont like his voice , Timbrado is the best..

  • i love how this bird sings hopefully mine learn how to sing like this too

one of them can imitate some of the sounds too, even before this video :)

  • This is facinating. Love the combination of songs! I have an American Singer who after his last molt sang like sparrow because we them all around our urban home. I am currently boarding two other canaries, a fife and a waterslager. I am hoping he will imitate these guys instead of the freaking sparrows!

  • Very cute! Nice singing!

  • Thank you! I have babies in the nest that I hope will also sing this special way.

  • Very nice song. Interesting that he added the tours. I have a Singer and a Timbrado. They're both listening very intently to this rather than singing along as they do with most canary videos.

  • Thank you for the compliment on his song.

And Fear Not, friend. That is a SHOW cage, just a temporary stage to spotlight his singing. All my birds spend the majority of the year in a full-flight aviary to keep them healthy and happy and ready to raise splendid new babies!

  • Amazing sounds...but so sad to see the bird confined to such a small cage and can't stretch its wings. When a bird is in a cage......all of heaven is in a rage!!

  • His voice does sound harsher because of the video quality, it's softer in real life. That's true of all the birds I've posted here. I need a new camera!

He is not a cross, both parents are closed-banded American Singers. Of course somewhere in his background it's possible there was a cross. But you're right, he will never develop a proper waterslager tour.

I just think it's interesting that he spontaneously began trying out these watery sounds. I enjoy hearing the new songs they volunteer!

  • The thing that i dont get is :

WHY DON'T U TAKE AN WATERSLAGER DUDE.

I dont like it 1 because your bird has a very LOUD Voice(because it hasn't the wright blood to have a nice voice)

2 ur bird will never remember the hole song when he'll finish the mute and u'll be forced to make the CD again and again for very long time.

3 is that this bird is 100% crossed with waterslager, because the American singer has not the ability of imitating the water tours that well, so dont cheat bro.

  • Thank you for your compliments. He is one of my special birds. I am wanting to get a better clip of him singing a more sustained song.

How old is your bird? If under two he is still developing his song. Even if older try playing songs to him you like, he might add them to his repetoire. They especially learn new notes when they are molting. They may not sing during the molt but they are listening!

  • I love the color of this singer ! I know its the song that is important in singing breeds but the looks don't hurt either huh ? I was sold an American singer ( green foul color )from a A.S. " breeder " but it sings just like a Harz roller . I got jacked !

  • thanks for sharing
