  • I can't remember the last time I was Unhappily wasted ! :-)

  • Great, stoned or not

  • LOOKING A BIT STONED I'D SAY :]

  • Comment removed

  • Could hear them all day without getting tired!

  • Notice how much happier the performers looked back then compared to the ones who are "popular" now?

  • @powerpaw2 You're so right about the performers during the late '60s and early '70s who looked like they were much happier performing that the so-called "stars" of today. (And they didn't have to grab their crotches to get attention, either!)

  • RIP Rob Grill we love you and will always cherish your music!

  • I have never seen such a hot group of guys in my life!!!!

  • So funny when Rob looks quickly away from Warren about 20 secs into the video. It's as if he was going to crack up if he looked at Warren any longer. Love this video! Anyone know what show this was from?

  • @julesyhedgehog Good question! The stage set doesn't look familiar....

  • @julesyhedgehog Would have to be after 1972 when Coonce and the others left the group. This is the lineup that lasted until 1975, when Warren and several others left. So somewhere between 1972 and 1975. Given the way they're dressed I'd guess 72 or 73.

  • If u hate ads thumbs up

  • why...i don't understand why....i've only ever loved one man...i don't understand why it can't just for a moment be easy...why ?

  • I've always thought this tune, since the time I was 4 years old when it was big hit back in 1968, might be fun to be remade (but not sure which group or band could do the remake) and make a fun promotional video of it where they show the guy running around in a monastery with a nun who he's trying to corrupt. LMAO!

  • I am so in love with everything about this video!

  • @heftyann I so agree with you!

  • About 12 years ago I won a radio contest from KGOR in Omaha and I got sit at a table in front of the stage for his concert and meet him. He was so great to me. My husband took my picture with Rob. I have loved his music since I was about 10 years old. That night was a memory I will always treasure.

  • WOW. This is how I most fondly remember the Grass Roots - one of my favorite groups in high school. Going to see them on Monday 8/29/2011 at the MN State Fair. I know they won't be the same without Rob, Warren, Rick, Dennis and Creed, but I'm looking forward to it anyway. Does anyone know what this venue was? Totally staged, or a real performance? THANKS for sharing this!!

  • I finally got around to loading the Grassroots onto my ipod. Thought I'd look at some old videos and found out Rick and Rob had died this year. May they rest in peace and may God bless them for the joy they brought all of us. LOVE, LOVE, this clip. I noticed in many of the videos they appear to be having a lot fun. I wonder, as another poster did, did Rob and Warren remain friends? Couldn't find comments from the other members on their passing, why? Thank you for positing the clip!

  • @jlflynn1107 You are welcome and that's a good question! I would suggest addressing the forum on the Grass Roots website. (Rob Grill used to own it and now it's managed by his estate.) There are many knowledgeable fans there who may be able to shed some light on Rob's and Warren's relationship in recent years. If you find out anything interesting, please post it here!

  • @bze2nlz4 I wonder if Creed and Warren attended their bandmates' funerals?

  • @jlflynn1107 I read that Warren continued to help with the management of the group after he left, which makes me think they were still friends. I also read an interview with Creed Barton. He says he still talks to Warren lots. He says that Warren's voice was the rock and roll drive of the group. He said Warren still has a great voice, and he continues to try and get him out to do some singing with him, but says Warren always says, "I don't do that anymore!" Too bad for us! :(

  • R.I.P. Rob Grill

  • They aren't just lip-synching...does the fact there are no cords to the guitars give you a clue this is totally over dubed? Most released videos are...they just tell the band to show off and have a good time. They add the sound later during editing. ; ) Great song from the past with a damn good looking lead VOX with that sparkling white GLEEM smile ; )

  • @LacyStockings The give away is it sounds exactly the same song as recorded 5-6 years earlier. The drummers not even in sync with the rolls.LOL

  • They look Stoned.

  • @RedDeadKitain I'm pretty sure they are :)

  • @RedDeadKitain Very stoned :). I just found out Rob died.in July. RIP Rob.

  • @RedDeadKitain they aew

  • @RedDeadKitain these guys are the best !!!

  • I just love seeing that smile on Rob's gorgeous face. Miss you babe...

  • My brother who has since traveled beyond this world loved this group. Remember sitting listening to all this groups songs. Real memory.

  • My favorite band too of that era!! Hope Rob is still playing his music in HIS universe....

  • inspiring, great mates at a great time....

  • Rob is just sooooo dam gorgeous here....fab eyes, you can see the laughter in them lol! How they kept from cracking up I have no idea. Thanks for this one.

  • I think they are laughing because they are lip sync-ing. Don't you think?

  • @marthaamydear Lip-syncing was pretty standard for most bands doing tv performances back in the 60's-early 70's. And without that 'dazed and glazed' look, which is what I see here in those beautiful eyes! I was a teen back then, so this is just my opinion :)

  • @marthaamydear-Yes - check Rob's lips the first two times Warren starts to sing - he's saying stuff that cracks them all up. Great smiles! I wish there were more clips from this era.

  • @lovedthe60s I totally agree!! btw, I marked this as NOT spam :)

  • They all look too happy if you know what i mean. LOL Great videos!

  • Since Rob Grill passed away, I've been watching many clips of The Grass Roots. I've loved them since I was a teen. I really hope that Rob & Warren remained friends over the years because it looked like they were pals in the videos. Anybody know? I haven't seen any quotes from either Warren or Creed since Rob's passing.

  • I was 9 years old when I heard this song for the first time. This was the second record I ever bought after The Osmonds. I love this song!!!I Just wish the youth today could have lived through this time. Just BEAUTIFUL music was being made back then by musicians. The Doors, Grassroots, Guess Who, Jefferson Airplane, The Who...I want to go back in time...and be 10 again. And not 50!!!

  • @ViralAries I am SOOO with you on your post! :-)

  • Rest In Peace, Rob Grill. He died just last week. A great loss from a great band.

  • Damn I am getting old....I was 16 and loving life...I remember them on The Midnight Special.....

    RIP..Rob

  • Yes, Rob looked like he was having a good time, and I'm so glad. Rob WAS the Grass Roots, and I'm so fortunate to have seen them several times. I just listened to an audio recording I made of the guys when they appeared in my town last year...probably one of the final shows for Rob. He sounded so good, he put his heart and soul into his music. Rest in peace sweet man. I love you...

  • More often than not Rob & Warren did look stoned, especially Rob. But they also always looked like they were having a great time! Love those guys......

  • The memories...RIP, Rob Grill

  • Rob Grill passed away today. RIP Rob and thanks!

  • This is so good to see. This is how we all were at this time.Great pot/music and happily stoned and nothing is or was wrong with that...We all did it....Think of the times....Damn do I miss them..The really "Happy Days".

  • Rob is the most gorgeous man i have ever seen...my my my!!!

  • Damn, Rob Grill--I don't remember you being this hot!

  • MY GO DTHEY LOOK SO DAMN SEXY HERE WOW I WANNA GO BACK IN TIME LOL PEACE ANGEL

  • I love this band. I love them even more when they are smiling. :) Rob looks better with his five o'clock shadow, than just a moustache. Gives him a sexy look. When they were laughing, I was too. haha.

  • Since Im here,I watched the video & I always thought these guys were ,how can I say this? Not quite this handsome. These are some fine looking men! The lead singer has got an incredible voice.I expected them to look like wild hippys,& I ended up getting guys that look as good as Player.Fine by me! Do these guys still tour?

  • @SmokinMo11 LOL, you better reset your password and keep Grandpa away from your stuff!! What you could do is just remove that comment and I can remove mine, but I'll leave it up to you. The lead singer of the GR's is Rob Grill. Other members have come and gone since the late 60's. Fun fact: the original lead guitarist was Creed Bratton (from 'The Office'), but he left in '69. cont...

  • @SmokinMo11 (cont...) Rob still tours occasionally with the band. He has been plagued with health problems for years, and late last year his only son died from cancer. (We went to see the GR's last summer and he was a no-show, nobody knew why at that point). There's a new lead singer, but sadly, it has become pretty much a cover band. Rob is only making 'special guest appearances' now. Now I'M ranting! Well this was one of my favorite bands, can ya tell?? :D

  • @SmokinMo11 Up until this year the lead singer Rob Grill with the little bit of a beard wow he is so handsome. Rob lead the new Grass Roots after they brokeup in the late 1970''s. He passed away 7/11/11. I'm so sad about it. It's effected me and alot of other fans. I was blessed to get an 8x10 pic of the group and he signed it in person, he was 58 yrs. then. I though to myself wow this man is very goodlooking, it made me nervous. Now, I'm sad and I will cherish this picture.

  • @bze2nlz4 That WAS quite a rant & I can assure you that that comment did not come from me.This is my pc & my lovemonger channel.I have a 76yr old grandpa that is a drunken Heavy metal-head.He's an old feller & ticks-off anyone that doesnt like metalica..lol I apologize for his rant. He's an old vet & always happy, but he's gotta understand that he cant tick off ppl thru my pc.I'm truely sorry that he targeted you.I see that he's taken over my channel as well the old fart! lol Sorry guys!

  • OMG. I was so in love with this band. Rob really had it going on didn't he??

  • I love this but...are they drunk? Stoned? Perhaps both? Especially Rob.

  • @mybabba I had the same thought when I posted this...read the description under the video :D

  • Love the smiles! They always seem to have smiles. I remember seeing them in concert a couple of times when it was Warren, Rob, Dennis, and Rick . . . they had fun. They interacted with the audience and they SMILED!

  • Two of the greatest and sexiest rockers of the 60's - Love Rob & Warren. Thanks for this rare video

  • @S7G11S3 I agree with you totally! They were always easy on the eyes!

  • This is a great video. I always liked their music. Rob just oozes with sex appeal, and he and Warren look either totally stoned or tripping with it......either way they are awsome!

  • This is a great video! I loved them all but Rob was always my favorite. The voice, the smile just gorgeous! They look happy and like they are really enjoying performing whatever the reason. Thanks so much for posting, Rhonda

  • This appears to actually be from 72, with Kailing, Weber and Larson.

  • @fanbulance It did look later than '68. Thanks for the info, I will change that :)

  • Thanks Chris for another GR goody. I am so in love with Rob's smile!

  • @LousFool You and me both♥!!!

  • @bze2nlz4 Such a gorgeous, sexy head of hair Rob has. Some guys just have it ALL!

  • I'll tell ya what! The audio may be slightly off but still this is a great video and great song. I may have only been about 6 yrs old when this song was released but I do remember hearing this a lot on the radio as I was growing up to my teens, 20's and so on. Thanks Chris for posting another gem.

  • **Warren and Rob @ 0:45** I love how they look like they're about to lose it! xD

  • @bze2nlz4 I know! haha. Ah gosh, I wish I could have been there!

  • Thanks for sharing this clip Chris! It's always great to see new footage of the Grass Roots! Yes, Rob and Warren do look very happy! Dennis Provisor didn't join the group until 1969. I don't know where Rick is though! Ron

  • @rwells47 Glad you like it Ron! I was being silly when I posted this...by 'happy' I actually meant 'stoned.' Check out the eyes...Rob in the beginning and then both Rob and Warren smiling at each other @ 0:55. Kinda looks like they'd been 'tokin' up' :D Or then, maybe they were just tired! Anyway, thanks for the info about Dennis..I will change that!

  • @MegaAprilWine Thanks, Christine!
