The reason the second amendment was written was not to hunt rabbits in the back yard, it was simply to allow the American people to have a means of resisting a tyranical government. Although time has passed between the time it was written and today, the idea behind it and the fact that we have an increasingly powerful government that continues to strip our rights from us and make unconstitutional laws IS A VERY REAL THREAT.
