  • Excellent commentary. Now this is the way a railroad video should be made. Love it!. One question; How long is the DVD?

  • @MrRailfreak Approximately 42 minutes

  • Glad you liked the preview. There is much more to see on the full DVD

  • That was great footage. All those factories shown along the tracks, thats what made America strong and great. Now the traitors send all those valuable jobs to communist countries and other countries with "sweat shops". This is a nice video of a distant memory when America was great.

  • The D&H turntable was in the Bevier Street Yard. That highway bridge is indeed Rt 81. Now that yard probably sees 5 to 10 run through CP trains over the line to Albany to the East. The Erie, Lackawanna, and D&H all converged in Binghamton. The Lackawanna Depot remains, and the D&H roundhouse is long gone

  • Nice job Jhnz33! I'm looking forward to some Buffalo and NF area action!

    Henry

  • @cp256

Thanks Henry. I'm still on the hunt for more footage.

  • @JhnZ33 Great video's!! I love the narration by this former railroad man. Even though this was a downhill time for many of these railroad's, it was still fun to do this type of work. I work for CSX now and the fun is being taken out of it. Over the last 10 year's it has been going from being done the smart railroad way, to the corporate way. Is this gentleman still alive?

  • @CSXtrackworker

I'm glad you liked the previews. Yes, Bill is still with us although up in age.

  • @JhnZ33 That is good to hear. I have worked with a few of the old timer's before they retired from the railroad. They are some of the best guy's I have worked with on the railroad period!! Some of them were lucky enough to see the last remenant's of steam before they were gone forever. I too have seen changes in the rail industry, but nothing like them. It is a shame, but unfort technology continues to change the face of the railroad's.

  • @diecastdeluxe

Thanks Randy and I have replied.

  • I think that passenger train is the Erie-Lackawanna Limited Hoboken Chicago

  • HI - this is awesome -- would you be able to sell DVDs of your work?

I was very little during the LV's last days. We moved to California - then moved back to Rochester/Victor in 1979 and I was shocked the tracks were gone. That began a lifelong LV interest. Just to see this is amazing.

  • @BarbaraZeman

Hi. Yes, you may purchase DVDs of these previews. Please contact me at Sharp316B at netscape dot net for details.

  • Oh, yes, looking at it again. The rear car you can barely see it. But look at the roof. It's a Budd Car roof, not smooth like the Pullman built coaches. The Observation cars of the Phoebe Snow and the diners were built by BUDD. The diner on this train is a old Erie heavyweight.

  • The Erie had good track because they had passenger service. Which was faster than 60! The train passing I think is the eastbound "Phoebe Snow" great shots. Really enjoyed it.

  • Will there be any further footage LVRR Buffalo division? Volume 3, 4, etc...

  • @blkzdiamond

I am currently gathering footage for Volume 3 which will cover Sayre to Buffalo and the Niagra Falls branch including Suspension bridge and interchange yard with the CN. I have close to 1/2 hour of footage so far, but I am still looking for more to complete the volume.

  • @JhnZ33 Put me on your list, I'll be glad to buy a copy of that too!

  • Wow, thanks so much for this post.

  • @drum3433 You're quite welcome
