I had the CYMA Thompson but I didn't really liked it cuz it looks way uglier than the beautiful Marui Thompson. Anyway my barrel broke, after allmost a year of using. from what I've heard it's very common on the Thompson, both the Cyma and the Marui. You know anything of this? And maybe you might have an idea how to fix it? I'm thinking of bying a Marui Thompson soon.. :)

I don't like Tokyo Marui, I bought an M4 from them and the barrel started wobbling sideways (or anyway you nudged it for that matter) and just trashed it, I suggest to all people looking into airsoft guns to pick any other manufacturer other than Tokyo Marui, I think they just got so into the money that they brought in that they stopped caring about the quality of their products.

Lifehost, I am just wondering how you did the reinforced bolt plate on your thompson. I saw that you, in one of your pictures, had put a thin metal plate on the back of the bolt. I have the CYMA thompson and my bolt broke so I did the same thing. But the thing is, I can't move the bolt plate anymore, because it gets stuck due to the gearbox. How did you managed to do this? As I can see in the video, you CAN move the bolt

I had to use the thinnest piece of metal that I could, a piece of tin that I found somewhere. I used the same Bolt screw so it didn't post too big of a problem, but the thin piece of metal was the only thing that didn't jam the Bolt. Use the metal and some lock-tight and it should stay. I advise everyone to do this anyways before the bolt breaks in the first place.

Depends on the capacity of the hi-cap mag but usually about half ish of its capacity ? My 600 round Ak mag empties about 300 on one full wind so im just guessing here but i would say quite a lot, if you just keep winding whenevr youre not firing, you should be ok :P

What actuly does the "hop up" do?

When the gun is fired it imparts a backward spin on the BB, thus "lofting" the projectile through the air. There's usually a knob or wheel to turn to regulate how much spin you want. Cybergun is a Frenchy company and they suck ass. ICS, Marui, Classic Army are good High end airsoft guns, but I'm sure there are more. Echo1, JG, UTG are good Low-end weapons that are Marui clones. I hate to break it to you buddy but the real M1A1 Thompson has whats called an "open bolt' that means when you load the mag and cock the bolt it locks back and when you fire the weapon the bolt travels forward bt that is still pretty cool. I would still do that to my Thompson.

Yes, the REAL Thompson fires from an open bolt. This is an airsoft gun. Not everything is 100% accurate. The bolt on this gun has absolutely nothing to do with rounds being chambered.
