  • Nice introductory video, I'll check out your others

  • The sound is excellent now

  • *after watching* SCIENCE HOMEWORK: MISSION COMPLETE

  • This still has a serious design floor, the receptacle in the pig doesn't hold enough distillate to get me drunk.

  • What the hell? All you need is a pot with lid, plastic paint bucket. and a piece of copper tubing and you are making fuel alcohol or moonshine. All that glassware must have cost $1,000USD for a thimble of alcohol.

  • @dickmartn

Where in the video or title does it say anything about alcohol?

  • @dickmartn I hope the plastic bucket isn't part of the still. You don't want plasticizers leaching into your distillate.

  • =0 this is sooo wrong! You have no clamp for the the round-bottomed flask! that's the most important clamp

  • The round-bottomed distillation flask is clamped (see 1:06) and the 'pig' is attached to the distillation kit by an elastic band. Perhaps we should've used a yellow clip there, though... Yes, it probably should be clamped for extra safety, but the use of a rubber band allows for easy rotation of the pig.

  • @lowlevelpanic999 Yea it's there, it's just a low clamp that comes off the base of the heating mantle.

  • I don't understand why there is no means of cooling the fractionating column.

When I've fractionally distilled ethanol, you had to run a minature condenser at the top of the column to create a temp. gradient as you travel upwards.

w/o a means of removing heat (and with the column itself insulated), how does one effect a temperature graident, travelling up the column?

  • fractional distillation utilizes different boiling points and thermal equilibrium.

  • no dumb ass if the fractionating column is to cold then the fraction would condense in column its called reflux retard

  • leave him, we all know his a retard in youtube, i think e haven't learned alloys yet, i think he tries to think his smarter than anyone else by telling us what he just learnt from his class.

P.S. even though i am the owner of the company called 'MultiDeathLord' i am pretty much young (only 14 going to be 15 on january 28 2010), i still got to revise for my separate science highest level for tomorrow exams....... wish me luck....

  • @envolopettly Uh no it's called being a nerd....

  • @envolopettly And you couldn't have said that without calling the person a dumb ass and a retard?

  • Thanks for all these uploads. I really enjoyed them.

  • Perfect. thx a lot. My teacher doesn't want to explain anything about the lab. This was short and straight to the point. AT least I understand what will happen 5/5

  • the sound works for me

  • I can hear it

  • We've played this on a number of computers and the sound does seem to work. Not sure what's causing the problem. Let me know if you sort it out.

  • the sound works
