yes you are allowed inside, but no filming or picture taking is permitted as it is a mausoleum.

taj is not a muslim monument, it is has no religious connotations. it is a mughal monument and mughal is a cultural family line that was secular. architecture is persian-indian mixture with indian (ie. muslims and hindus) architectures building it. the white marble stone and other stones came from rajasthan and indian craftsman did this. dont bring religion. islam discourages arts and crafts, painting to some extent.

Tourist pours down their money each day to visit this muslim master peiece of art but india has done little to preserve this jewel. i hope they drop the prejudice and start preserving muslim history of india.

dont spread your narrow minded views around the world. India in general has a bad record of upkeeping its historical heritage, not just muslim...they failed to upkeep hindu varanasi, budhist bodhgaya and for that matter any one of its heritages. quit being rabidly muslim.
