  • If you want to teach Mario the piano come on my chaine. Video simplified and played slowly so that you can see notes.

  • Chuck Norris can do this with 1 foot :)

  • godowsky would approve : )

  • HE'S A WIZARD. :O

  • It's master hand!

  • @TheWhale55 Lol. I've been thinking of redoing this video with a synthesia overlay to show how it works. Now I need to add "wear a white glove" to the plan.

  • @RigorMortis999 If you do that.....no, it's out of my imagination how awesome that would be. Seriously.

  • Wait what. One hand only? I can't do it even with 5 hands...

  • This is really very impressive!

  • if only you had like 12 fingers than you could tell physic to po

  • never have i seen using less hands as more difficult...

  • i cant do it with two hands!!!

  • If I don't look at the screen, it seriously sounds like two hands. Or nine hands.

  • Considering I barely have the ability to play this two handed, I'll pass on learning it... For now. Still, amazing job. I've watched most of your other videos and they are amazing. You're easily one of the best piano players I've seen on Youtube.

  • lol, if you want to know whether this is real or not you should:

    1. Look at his hands (or in this case his hand) and follow his fingers

    2. Look at the sheet music that he made

    3. Look at the difficulty of his other videos

    4. Think about why you are the only person commenting that it's fake

    5. Check what he has to say about it on his channel

  • Dude! =^o

Man! Now I feel ashamed for not being able to even handle the coordination for this piece with two hands. T-T I really oughta' start practicing more...

  • now play it with your left hand >;3

  • You're the boss !

  • simply awesome

  • Ô.ô

    You are amaaaaaaazing!!!

  • wow... that is awesome ... thank you

  • i gotta ask, i sorta got confused wen some of the sheets say "roll", uh, is that aimed at xylos? cuz i cant roll, or hav tried but failed. must b cuz im a noob

  • Yay Mark, this is terrific.

  • For gods sake, there's SHEET MUSIC. You can try it yourself if a video is somehow beyond your ken.

  • @NicholsonDen i dont think so

  • HAHA who is stupid enough to call the video fake when the arranger/performer is more than happy to supply sheet music!!

    Comment FAIL

  • Real Skill (tm).

  • hahaa it sounds good, very good, HAHA i can play it on bass, WITH 2 HANDS!! i need the support though so if anyone could watch it for me i'd appretiate it :) i need it to grow.

  • This is brilliant! I don't know what people are smoking, calling this fake and all. Awesome job!

  • nao sei se acredito nisso

  • Way to go Mark ;// Uncle Ed

  • Yay Markle!!!!

  • Kickass!

  • Fantastic! Way to go!

  • I wouldn't play better, even with 5 hands and ten years of training! xD

  • Frig, I can feel my hand cramping up just watching you!

  • dude... thats amazing.... great job... this is for the epic win.... try the imperial march next XD

  • Can't believe all the people giving him a hard time. Mark is the real deal. There is no fakery here. I've seen him play this with my own eyes on our crappy piano, so I know what he's capable of on a half-decent instrument. Unfortunately, the world is filled with jealous people who wish they could play even one quarter as well as you! Rock on!

  • I know the guy

    He works in my choir

  • You have some awesome talent! I wish I knew how to play piano better, I seem to have a really hard time reading music. Also, to all the faketards, get a life and learn to do something useful.

  • Well done! I usually listen to Godowsky's left hand etudes, but this is the first time I've heard something arranged for the right hand :)

  • Wow, you're familiar with the cream of the one hand crop and you still like this? ;) Thanks... really. To satisfy your curiosity, I used the right hand rather than the traditional left because in this piece, the bass line is a single note, whereas the treble constantly has two. This favors the thumb-finger orientation of the right hand. The left hand seems more suitable for multiple lower notes or chords with an single note upper melody, or for arpeggiation.

  • Indeed, I've just given a run through your arrangement and it does lend itself quite well to the right hand due to its natural form. What I did realize too, is that I ought to train stretching my right hand more, as the very first chord of the song which is easy as pie for the left hand, ends up being much hard for me to play with my right hand cleanly (most notably, to stretch enough as to avoid misplaying the octave under the pinky along with the ninth).

  • Why should he prove you wrong at all? Its YOU who should prove you're right. If he or any other one needs to "prove" they are right to every single troll with their endless theories (one more silly than the other), he wouldn't get any rest.

If you suceed showing he has sped it up, We will imaginary thow him in a big, imaginary fire.

Hey, make your own "Sped-up-hair-movement-simulation"-Video and show us the truth which lays hidden to us lesser blessed.

  • Comment removed

  • no its not sped up

  • if you speed up the sound becomes stretched... this is not the case

  • It sure looks a bit like it's sped up, but we all know he can play much harder things than this, so why would he speed it up?

  • Why do you need the other hand free? Haha just kidding. Keep rocking, piano man.

  • Hours and hours and weeks and months of training lol

  • O Snap! One Hand NO HE DIDN't! lol

  • looks sped up

  • You are a one handed star.

  • Mark! you rock man! > 43,000 views in 4 days...wow!

  • not quite Horowitz and Stars and Stripes but pretty sweet nonetheless!!!

  • oh I love this!!

  • Well, not bad.

But I do the same with one finger.

  • that was totally awesome. good job!

  • Grats on the the work you put into this. Sounds great, one handed.

Just ignore all the haters, you dont have to go down to their (stupidity) level.

  • I like it. But then again, I'm one of those thousands of people who play this theme on the guitar when I'm bored.

It does sound a little fast, though.

  • Pretty cool. Starts to sound 'off' at about 54 seconds though. Probably because of the notes that got shuffled or what not.

Definitely not fake though. If it was, it would be flawless. Still very good. Much better than me. :(

  • Wow, that is freaking epic!! Actually to me it sounds even better than the original...I'm just saying~

  • Amazing.

  • You know, you could look at the sheet music to see exactly how it works. It's not like there's a link right in the video or anything.

  • @rbdgirl12 what junks can't do will not fit in the situation for normal people, Mr/Miss useless.

  • @rbdgirl12 Your name tells me exactly what you are.

  • Trekt op niks. Wel goed dat hij het kan met 1 hand

  • awsome work keep it up and you will get further then Belgium news :D

  • Impressive. Clearly not fake, well done :)

  • those pesky laws of psychics... :)

    nah seriously very nicely done!

cant figure out why ppl would call this fake :S

  • It's just jelous people who can't stand the fake that someone is better than them (At something they don't even do) so they call it fake.

    Basically, welcome to YouTube,

  • I meant fact* ....-stand the fact that...

  • Also, you appear to have made both Kotaku and Joystiq, for what that is worth.

  • you know your classics! nice

  • Let's see you play it with no hands and then I'll be impressed. Kidding. That was great!

  • I'd give it a shot, but everyone would probably say it was fake...

...and for once they'd be right.

  • @RigorMortis999

you're in the belgian news =)

    Gratz!

  • O_o

    Link?

  • @DVSKE007 ook geleze in hln ? :P

  • you could have dusted your piano :p

  • 1UP!

  • Too bad this song has been done to death huh?

That's impressive to play with just one hand.

  • AWESOME!

  • Very nice, a bit loss in the tempo department here and there but its acceptable considering you're playing with one hand xD

  • looking foward for ur next video

    ff battle theme perhaps?

  • jaja nice

  • I sir, am impressed.

  • woooooow con 1 mano o.o increible eres un maestro bravo!!

  • its real

  • Super Performance!

  • Lol funny ;)

  • If you break your right hand, that would suck.

    Great video.

  • Bravo bravo bratooo !!! 5 stars

  • Blame that on the fact that Mario is all that people seem to watch. Like you, for example.

  • There'll never be enough Maro Theme renditions :P

  • Wow very nice. And you have a lot of pieces that I haven't seen others do. Consider yourself subscribed :)

  • Freaking AWESOME!!! Now try Sonic. :)

  • Fucking awesome man, encore!! Do you think you can try to do Zelda or any other classic NES?

  • 120 stars.

  • Grats man, this is really really good. And Great job making Kotaku, you deserve it.

  • Props on doing that with one hand, GJ!

  • Can't wait for sheet music

  • wow thats awesome.

How many hours a day did you practice?

  • This piece or in general?

  • awesum :P

  • Rigor... that must have set in shortly after playing a few times... anyways, epic work matey.

as ingofreak said, you got a article on the kotaku gaming blog, thats how i found this :P

  • nicceee

  • How many years have you been playing piano?

    this is so awesome ;P

  • 25 years, since I was 2... although a better question would be "How many hours a day did you practice?" ;)

  • you made kotaku.

  • Wow, was that one hand for left AND right hand, or was it just a really intense right hand part?

  • The former becoming the latter :P
