  • did u no he says i can smell the blood from an australian

  • Look around the the butterfly's wings long enough, and it starts to move O.O

  • @BlueSpiritFire1 holy shit thats creepy!!

  • Saw Eskimoe Joe Live at The Deni Ute Muster this year. Amazing crowd. Sounded amazing <3

  • The start of the song is a sample from the music used in a Thai 'wai khru' dance before a Muay Thai fight :)

  • You screwed up with bit of the lyrics in the description. It should be "If this is what it feels to love". Anyways, it is a brilliant song.

  • it's a pity that I haven't heard about this band before... a.m.a.z.i.n.g.

  • Stood up on chair and danced to eskimo joe at sound relief 2009 SYD

    ESKIMO JOE FOREEEEEEEEVER!

  • i really do not understand what they mean in this song

  • Is it just me or does the tune at the start sound a bit Turk? o.O

  • @MzLeyloshXD because it is turk

  • I'm american and I love them! :D

  • oh my god i love this song

  • I'm from the US and I love these guys, then again I guess I'm hardly anyone

  • Was listening to this (admittedly brilliant) song on the radio the other day and the dj posted the song as "Eskimo Zeppelin". Kashmiresque but still their most rocking song

  • Great song!

  • Beautiful song. Was listening to radio on route to work and dj called them eskimo zeppelin lol. true true, sounds like a Kashmir rip off. No Offence

  • freakin good song. the instrumental with that weird horn instrument was chilling as fuck. good shit there.

  • just heard this song on the radio for the first time in ireland. great sound but not sure if they'll catch on here. hope they do.

  • This song was actually inspired by an Assyrian man who gave the idea to the lead singer and is dedicated to the Assyrians/Armenians of the genocide which was committed by the Ottoman Turks in 1915 hence why they called the song foreign land. The Zurna that is played isn't the Turkish Zurna but rather the Assyrian Zurna (from the East).

  • @assyrian2NV the song is actually based on Heath Ledger dying in a foreign country

  • @assyrian2NV No, i actually saw an interview where eskimo joe said that the song was about heath ledger and his death- they wrote it right after it had happened

  • this album they didnt put much effort in it ...

i wish they did and made a 20 track album with a better name and theme

something outragious cause no1 knows who the the fuck they r out of australia

  • @Hunkyfish20 what are you talking about mate?

  • i hate it how all the aussies have to say "Mate" on the internet, I'm aussie and i Don't do that because it looks dumb.

  • @Hunkyfish20 Enlish people do that too :)

  • @Hunkyfish20 mate, stop you fuckin whingin' mate

  • @Hunkyfish20 How do you know they're not British?

  • @Hunkyfish20 Yeah, because, like, nobody else would say that. Certainly not in the UK or anywhere like that. The only thing that makes you look dumb is that asinine comment. Twat.

  • Clipsal 500 2010, Eskimo Joe opening, FTW!

  • It's Australian - moron.

  • Mate, If you're going to claim that someone is an American, At least do the internet a favour and check our facts, It was formed in Aus, 2/3rds of the band were born in Aus, Oh and by the way, The only reason it was formed was for an Australian competition.

  • this is a great song

  • This is the perfect homage to Heath. He was a true Aussie boy, he never tried to escape his roots like so many Aussies do when they go overseas. He embraced his heritagewarts and all, and made us all very proud. I smell the blood of an Australian, try to understand this if you can. A true Aussie boy that died in a foreign landhe should have died in Australia with his family.

  • you just realised!!!!!!! LIKE NOW that these guys. ARE AN AUSTRALIAN BAND!!! ..... best song though.

  • Woo can't wait to see these guys tomorrow at BDO!!

  • I finally just figured that Eskimo Joe is an Australian band. Gotta love my country now :D

  • Switch off the zurla and turkish drum,(turkish instruments) I cant hear attractive song.

  • durbergerman921 maybe you are missing the trees for the forest.

    Learn some grammar

  • It"so hard for me to learn english grammar (thanks for your help). As a migrant, am positive that my education is few times higher then your father. English grammar has no rulles, therefore you learn by memmories. If I was born here, than you should judge me. Regards...

  • It's called Zurna in Turkish. Great son btw!

  • Even when you're all alone

    When it's not your home

I smell the blood of an Australian

Try to understand this if you can

  • shot gun voting for this in the hottest one hundred

  • this is time i've listened to a song by a band mixed with a foreign instrument from my culture this guys voice doesnt suite his voice .

  • "this guys voice doesn't suite his voice?" wut???

  • sorry i mixed it up my keyboard wasn't working good i meant this is the 1st time i've listend to a song by a band mixed with a foreign instrument his voice doesnt suite the sound of the flute its a flute thats being played

  • the music video is so cool, from asian ladies to jellyfish, to clouds of blood. and the actual song is kickass.

  • oooh shit yeah i love this song =)

  • lol this is better then indian songs lol indians only copy american songs and replace it with fucking hindi good work eskimo joe

  • um arent u indian, accordin to ur name, so pretty much ur just dissin ur own country, thts pretty sad

  • lol

    sanjayproduction

    is an indian

  • Could be that he is from Pakistan. Then it makes total sense. Or he is just a douche called Sanjay.

  • @gangstadeluxe1 He reminds me of a Jew Nazi! :p

  • Epic song...

  • yes good call uhe0003!!!

  • good song!!!

  • good call uhe0003!

  • good work manaveru, credit must be given when a sample of another song is used, but not when the music is an original recording.

i'd like to suggest that 'foreign land' is not only about heath ledger, but about all australian's who die on foreign soil, including our troops in overseas deployments, iraq, afghanistan, vietnam, east timor...this song is an ode to our fallen.

  • Awesome song. WTF giving credit to an instrument? Its more likely they'd give 'credit' to the estate of H. Ledger than an anonymous Turkish instrument

  • I saw a clip on the TV that they did this song in dedication for Heath Ledger, and his unfortunate death. RIP heathy Boy

  • why would they even give credit for an instrument they used?? Do they thank the country after each song if they play a guitar or the drums?? no...

  • I agree.

The girl who posted that comment obviously has no brains, did the Beatles thank India when they introduced the sitar to popular music? No.

Instruments don't belong to any country, music is for everyone.

  • @BBallman107 True, but if memory serves me correctly the eastern instrument was actaully a sample from a (turkish?) traditional song. If it was a sample from another peice of music then they should probably credit it, otherwise not. Peace.

  • It is given full credit on the album. ie:

""Foreign Land contains elements from Adiyaman performed by Anadolu University Folk Dance Ensemble"

  • Agreed with BBallman107 & FaithlsAnnoyed. Thanks for the song.

  • @Melaliciousdork , whats the instrument called?

  • @Melaliciousdork ...and?

  • WOW!!! this is truly an incredible song.

simply because its SO unique, not like other songs out there that sound like the same thing over and over again. this song is Different and i think thats why I love it so much...and that intro...its awesome!!!

usually i have to listen to songs over & over again until I kinda gain a liking 4 it...but with "Foreign Land" I fell in love it straight away. Good on u eskimo joe! :)

  • youtube "radiofreindly song"

  • And they started up back home in Fremantle! When am I getting the Canadian tour?!

  • These guys should be huge! Why aren't they???

  • Good question....Eskimo Joe are one of the best bands in the world right now, and hardly anybody knows them outside Australia!

    It's stupid.

  • I think I'm the only one from Norway who loves their music...

  • @FaithIsAnnoyed I wish people here in canada knew about them.... I'm tired of brining them up and getting a blank look for my efforts.... I really do love this song...

  • @FaithIsAnnoyed I know them but I dont count cos Im from New Zealand. They are polular here too.

  • @FaithIsAnnoyed Eskimo Joe stated that bands like AC/DC and Airbourne are better than them, but I agree with you, this is my point in their greatness

    1:AC/DC

    2:Eskimo Joe

    3:Airbourne

  • @js1596996409 Everyone hates us west australians. They are from Western Australia.
