  • awesome work

  • Its got everything except grid recording. Remake it with grid recording and you got the ultimate machine.

  • Is this good for progressive rock and jazz fusion? I'm not into popular styles of music and more into performance based music

  • @numanuma20 Hey man, you need to check out the OCTATRACK by elektron..theyre about the same price...

  • The interface is not uggly green like the mpc and for me its a new look I like the beat thang is crazy I want to buy one

  • It is a sampler similar to the mpc yet for me this one tops the mpc on because of so many features example you can connect a midi keyboard and it will suply bus power. It can works around 2\ 3 hrs with out beeing connected to electrict outlet they have a bunch of tutorials too

  • @megamanel787 you might want to do a side by side comparison of the features, right now you're a little ill-informed... props to the beatkangz for gettin it out though.

  • the question no madafucker answers the only important question, is this thag a sampler? is it?!?! if not is worthless shit

  • Dj rasadon aka rasadon from the two time winning Arrested development sayz.

Can't wait to see this product on the shelves, it's been awhile since a beat machine actually accommodated a drummer/dj

I like the capability aspect of having touch capability on hand when I'm djing. Not to

Mention my full library everywhere I go so

My production can take flight whenever I choose. Awesome! And a great ticket price.

    Two thumbs up1

  • Maschine already beat you guys man. At least 5 yrs late.

  • $1000? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha poor ass street hustlers. Get the fuck outta here!

  • @kaybronson100 street price ended up being $1499 at best buy lol... smh

  • i've held and messed around with the thang first hand (because i did the final product photography), and this joint is solid. it is heavy, but the feel of bangin on the pads is golden. im no pro with hardware but as someone who has a deep appreciation for beatmaking and even a desire to create beats, this joint is aces. i need an all-black beat thang. that's word. done talk!

  • love how it looks and the features the build quality is solid cant wait to earlier 2011 to cop this, real slick unit and the outputs sound real thick.

  • I want to connect Beat Thang Hardware to my Head and it makes the beats in my mind!!!

  • Software now VST. We had the hardware version at the Battle of the Beat Makers, the way AJ was rocking it, you could see a lot of live performance applications and the lights just made the unit stand out, he wasn't searching for anything just hammering out beats. It just looked and sounded like a production station. It feels solid, road worthy, and with 2 32gig SD slots, do you really need to bring your hard drive with you to the studio? VST compatible software controller surface beat machine.

  • When is this "thang" coming out???? Damn, it's been like 2 years and I'll i've seen is some software that gets some horrible reviews!

  • im not sure i trust akai mpc il wait to c the real people try it before buy it and also the new technology break a lots evryting that shiny and full of light break you dont need example...

  • I brought a Streetboxx for like 200 bucks and it had too many weakness but i made it kick. Now there is a Beat Thang that runs for a grand? I copped a 500 because the streetboxx served its purpose. why would i pay a 1000$ for this and the Mpc1000 is the same? I have to see this shit in motion by a pro using samples chopping and breaking it in to be sold on it.

  • I must say the beat thang is phat! I cant wait till it drops.I have the beat thang v,and i use it all the time.I think the B T V needs few more features like,Auto-Sync,Re-sample and time stretch.Unless it already has it.

  • @bc2358 Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. :)

I also think a lot of people have gear they look upon as being already in a different league in direct comparison... like the MPC5000, MV8800 and for many even MPC1000s etc. This Beat Thang is supposed to sell for 1 grand, which is quite a whole lot. With the exception of the portability factor, there's loads better for one grand or less, especially if you consider secondhand gear.

  • they should add a CD drive like the MV 8800 id pay more for that feature

  • For the people hatin on the name, they got a custom shop. What numbers do you want on it?

  • Now this is how you do some proper marketing! :)

It is indeed looking better than before, curious to see where this will end.

  • This may be a dope production unit, but Jesus it's hideous, and they could not have thought of a more lamer, cheesball name. It's got some nice features, would like to hear some beats churned out of this thing.

  • @nicaphish

check my channel, you can hear four full songs w different artists i mess with produced with it... it got a little ways to go but its not too shabby ;)

  • @nicaphish I dont think it's terrible looking, but the style and name is just part of their marketing. They're targeting a specific 'urban' demographic, but if you can get past that it looks like it has potential. All the features anybody would want, plus lots of sounds built in. Sounds great to me.

  • I am in. I will try one out

  • For sure, I'd love to try one. Based on first impressions when moneys tight with people and they have some stout competition, they made a horrible one.

  • akai can kiss my ass...

  • Im really curious what the A-D is like on this thing when sampling. That, and its time correction/shuffle/shift facilities. Also, it appears to use a grip of power for all of its fancy lights and shit, I wonder how long its internal ion battery lasts?....If it could hold a significant charge for say 5-6 hours that would be impressive.

  • @shonsteez: Are you nuts? Those lights are just leds, those hardly use any power at all and this machine is as portable as these type of machines can get. The lithium ion battery is very much just like a laptop battery and will last for hours for sure. I think 6 hours minimum, but probably more.

  • i only got one thing ta say... LET THA HATERS, HATE!!! IM GETTIN IT.

    da relic

  • @slikdarelic: I think most haters are really just very skeptic, but you're right in thinking this Beat Thang might be something really serious after all.

  • God Damn Man!!! I WANT ONE.. but When is it coming out???

This was mad boring where's the life of the party??...Where's Kang BoomBAP?? will ya'll please post Boom doing another vid with the hardware?? PLEASE???!!!!

  • real-time time-stretching and pitch shifting options in the 8 octave keygroup.

  • and who the fuck is that reggaeton singer???

oh it's aja, the president ROFL.

  • PLEASE make it real!

  • Cnt wait to get my hands on one
