  • This was awesome. Id love to see more artists do some acoustic hip-hop. Love the tone and feel of it.

  • @giverson516 MPC 1000, I think

  • Does anyone know what drum machine he is using?

  • YES

  • POS has so much talent and power in his music, i was at one of his shows a couple months ago and the energy that was coming from the stage was almost unbearable, goosebumps like no other..lol

  • that was fucking amazing.............

  • whoa, its been a year since i watched this video, i could say it really changed my music life, ever since someone commented "oh he used a sample of Underoath's song "its dangerous buisness walking out your front door" ..that day i got into metalcore and that heavy ass shit.....to the person that wrote that comment thank you and to P.O.S, you pretty much broke the boundries of underground and heavy music...keep doing what youre doing.. thanks man (:

  • POS is ruining my life doesn't really seem like a song that should be played acoustically, but he pulled it off none the less. i really like the acoustic version.

  • He lyrically amazes me. Shits raw.

  • just absolute raw talent. amazing

  • he has so much skill its crazy you dont just learn how to be that good

  • He is my favorite all time rapper with the exception of Slug and AD3K

  • what kind of drum machine he uses in this video? anyone...?

  • @heee2 its some kind of an mpc. search mpc 2000 and you'll find some nice ones

  • Dude. I have the same guitar. NICE!

  • this shit made me cry the first time i heard it

  • Stef has more talent in his little finger than any other so called "artist" in mainstream hip-hop

  • what do you call that box thing he uses for beats

  • @XxMurasamexX I'm sure it's some kind of Drum Machine, not sure about the specific brand or model, though.

  • it's a sampler.

  • it's a sampler.

  • Love'd it

  • goddamn that boy is that real shit

  • P.O.S. is legit as fuck.

  • That's crazy. POS is so incredibly talented.

  • i love this stuff...

  • He is an incredible artist, and he makes it seem so effortless. That's how MPLS does it!

  • thats haaaaaard shit.

  • That shit just looks too hard, thinking of the words (fast) and that rhyme while playing the guitar isn't the same as simply singing and playing the guitar. Props for the man.

  • for never doing this before POS gets mad respect...Every song i know from him and doomtree are great!

  • this has real potential with a little practice

  • just sitting here watching him set up is just like making me antsy for the awesomeness that's about to ensue. lol. XD i'm so stokeddd, i'm on the edge of my seat. i love acoustic performances. =DD

  • Does he sample it in the original? Cause this sounds just like the original but on acoustic. Even the beAt sounds the same.

  • @mattbnugka i would IMAGINE he does. but i cant say for sure. most guys on rhymesaysers do. lots of djs

  • this is just hilariously awesome.

Especially how he just kinda builds a beat on the fly. So much win.

  • this song has sample from the band underoath haha

  • what song?

  • It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door

  • @alifeatwar i don't hear it at all

  • what beatbox is that

    ????

  • crazyyyy talentedd =)

  • Talent! See you next month buddy!

  • Sweaty ass palms, lol

  • POS is one of the most talented people in music. Everything he produces, leaves me in awe. Also one of the nicest, down to earth people. Talked to him a bit at Warped, and he was so incredible down to earth, and approachable.

  • @longhornfaithful Yah man, I talked with him for a bit at Warped one year. I saw him while watching gallows. He was super cool and is incredibly talented.

  • @longhornfaithful agreed wholeheartedly. Heartfelt music such as his, is far too rare. Met him at Warped too ironically, chill ass dude. No ego, just a human being with a huge heart and a brilliant mind.

  • @longhornfaithful Look, I tried to sit down and give this every amount of attention I could, and I still couldn't come close to think this is in any way talented. All he is doing is playing two chords (power chords mind you) and rapping over some generic drum beat.

    This is some talent

  • @ArkVel Have you seen anything else he has done? He has amazing flow, and his lyrics are the best I have ever seen in a hip hop artist, and some of the best I have ever heard. Not only that but he puts on one hell of a show, and makes some killer beats. Also making an acoustic verison of a rap song on the fly, not talented? I personally think so.

  • @ArkVel checkout his 3 albums and then say if he has talent or not.

  • @ArkVel the talent lays not so much in the instrumentation, (even though most people couldnt do what he just did), but in the lyrical content of the song itself.

  • @ArkVel listen to the actual song

  • P.O.S. is life. he got embarrassed but w.e he still is pretty good.

  • well at least he aint so fulll of himself he is never emberaresed

  • I think this could be improved with a little work, he states in the beginning that he never tried that before. It's pretty sick though. P.O.S. is real rap.

  • siiickkkk!!!!!!

  • this is raw...

  • he samples "It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door" for all you people who wanted to know which Underoath song he samples.

  • which underoath song does he sample?

  • Oh my god... sooooooo epic. Keep making this music, for the sake of my sanity and my faith in hip hop.

  • make that our sanity and faith in hip hop

  • dude talented

  • I love P.O.S., but I really didn't like that too much.. he can definitely rap a lot better.

  • this isnt rapping?

  • Thank you for pointing that out. I obviously didn't have a grasp on the concept beforehand, because it's not like I said that he can rap much better than he can sing. Oh wait, yes I did.

But this is irrelevant, because to a point it is rapping.. he took his original song and slowed it down, that's about it. I simply said he should stick to straight rapping, because this doesn't work that well.. it kills his flow.

  • its basically the same tempo. just a bit slower. Most of his songs he sings i dont know what the fuck youve been listening too

  • What songs does he 'sing' to? Yeah, he throws in some obvious pitch changes and does them well, but very rarely have I seen him sing. In fact, the only song I've literally seen him 'sing' is his Why Go cover by Pearl Jam.

I'm not dissing the guy, I really enjoy P.O.S.'s work. I just don't think this worked out incredibly well.

  • its indie acoustic punk rap with a screamo sample. bomb as hell

  • Wat exactly is he using to make the drum beat? i know its a drum machine but what make and model?

  • MPC1000

  • Its definitely and MPC I dont think the 1000 is right becuase of the oak. But maybe a 2500

  • you no where i can find one?? or mayb one that could be used on the computer.. like a program til i cant myself one. if so love to no.

  • its definitely the 1000. this is dope.

  • The guitar chords are taken from "it's dangerous business..." by underoath.

i think that is so awesome

  • i was listening to my iPod on shuffle and i heard that riff and i started singing underoath. but anyways is that for sure where he got it? or the other way around?

  • He sampled Underoath, yes.

  • ILL

  • one of his best performances

  • this is sick everyone

  • 2:45 - Oh it works.

  • I hope in the future he does more of these kind of songs with acoustics...maybe cut an entire album of acoustic remakes of his previously released material - it's easy on the ears and adds so much more weight to it.

  • thatd actually be awesome. he'll probably do that some day.

  • Hes sicckkk man, one of the most talented/musical rapers out there

  • dope as fuck

  • steph, please record a studio version of this, amazing.

  • He needs to record an acoustic version. This shit is raw.

  • this is pretty cool, I think it works pretty well, the regular version is really awesome.

  • what is he using to make the beat? its kool

  • MPC

  • Isnt he sick?? This guy has such an interesting mind to where he throws out these beats and adds a guitar then kills it with some of his amazing lyrix. Well respected poet am i right?

  • this man is crazy sick. punk rock/ rap in an acoustic version. i wouldn't believe it if i hadn't seen it.

  • P.O.S is fucking amazing. and i love how he took an underoath sample for the recording of this song

  • which song did he sample from?

  • It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door

  • get it right. he played bass not guitar. but everything on his records he writes. i talked to him bout it last night in Orlando Florida

  • that shit was muther fuckin heart warming!

  • He sings and plays guitar in a punk band called Building Better Bombs.

  • damn thats gotta be hard.

  • yeah...good song though=]

  • Wow, he can play guitar too! DAMN! Dude is talented, makin the beat and playing guitar and rapping. If you want more acoustic, check out "Always COming Back Home To You" by Atmosphere

  • Steph started out doing guitar in a punk band

  • how does one get to see these little gettogethers?

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmk. wow. never thought i'd see acoustic hip-hop.

  • Slug from atmosphere does alot of it too, check it out, theyre on the same label.

  • Atmosphere is definitely NOT on the same label as Doomtree. Doomtree has their own label. Steph aka P.O.S. has released 2 albums on the Rhyme Sayers label.

  • they were joint labeled with doomtree as well

  • umm-yes they are...

  • Atmosphere is on RhymeSayer,

POS is jointed with Doomtree + Rhyme Sayers

  • this is so cool
