@TheMonkeyToucher I'm the same! Roger Corman was one of my childhood favorites, especially when it came to the films Comedy of Terrors and the Haunted palace. He always gave Edgar Allen Poe a different look. Same with Mad Magazine. My father even got me interested in the old Tales from the Crypt and EC comics. The art is beautiful.
I lived thru the Cuban Missile Crisis as a child on an Army base.... we all thought we were going to die, rosaries in hand, head between knees, kissings our asses goodbye...:)))
I wonder if THIS was the reason, John Goodman got his role in The Artist...

Good film directed by the excellent J. Dante.
John Goodman masterfully interprets a kind of William Castle, even though the film has a different name.
