  • I might be a know-nothing when it comes to the finer points of auto mechanics, but I never understood what the appeal of a manual transmission was...maybe I'm just lazy, but the idea of having to constantly switch gears while driving (especially in a city)...seems really annoying. But what do I know...I don't really even know how to drive a manual....primarily because I've only even had automatic (even my cherokee is).

  • @sonbuhitsunei Well, first a manual trans is typicaly more durable than an auto, gets better fuel economy and, is a better car for people who know how to get the most performance from a vehicle. I have been a commercial motor vehicle instructor in the past, and now just drive. I dont find 18 gears all that difficult to master. I honestly think autos are for people who are too dumb to learn or too lazy to master driving. Impo. Its just too easy to teach "mash on the throttle to go"

  • @sonbuhitsunei

Honestly, reliability. That is pretty much it. And its more fun for some people. Autos are great for 4x4 due to the weight at the bottom of the car keeping it more stable. And the fact your foot is free to control the break better.

Manual is a bitch in traffic.

  • needs a diesel

  • They put this on dino and its around same power 3.8 lol. Diesel kills pentastar!

  • what a fucking dumb cunt, whats with the dumb ass questions? i bet u did not know what he was talking about when he was on about ratios...

  • You can order european 1.5 diesel patriot motor get 30mpg in wrangler!

  • buying a new Rubicon in April and I cant wait

  • f the pentastar i want the 2.4l turbo diesel. 200 hp and 340 lb/ft torque not to mention it gets 26 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.

  • @Shabbernigdo , I aggre with you.....Does someone know why Chrysler does not sell the DIESEL version in the USA?.

  • @RFB2903 there are a few reasons. 1. chrysler is afraid to step up and be the first to introduce a small diesel into the amreican market.

    2. the epa make is retardly hard to pass a small diesel into the market without it having a ton of emissions equipment on it in turn making it have a stupid high price tag.

there for a while ford / chevy / nissan were all looking into releasing a smaller 4cy diesel for there mid size trucks but all of them have either scraped it or put it on the back burner.

  • @Shabbernigdo what makes it really funny is that the diesel replacement for these vehicles is stronger / generaly more reliable / get much better fuel mileage while producing less emissions and is just plain better.

  • @Shabbernigdo , thanks for you answer. I live in Chile, already have a 2007 Wrangler Rubicon Unltd. but with the mods. the poor efficient V6 3.8 is just not enough, other people have the 2.8 diesel sahara with much better results. I don`t know why Chrysler don`t sale here the Rubicon diesel as they do in Europe, I'm looking for the possibility of buying a new diedel one and change the equipment (including axles !!) from my Rubicon.

  • Ford's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 that puts out 365 and probably more efficient, although I love the additional power this new Penstar makes, Jeep is still way behind in the HP wars and economy that ford has, maybe Jeep will make something more competitive soon? Then again Jeep makes the best off road vehicle ever, I do want a 2012 regardless of the lack of economy and power.

  • @adsabine1 your saying Jeep but it's actually the Parent Company, Chrysler Group's Pentastar V6. Which Chrysler does indeed plan to produce a 3.0L Direct Injection Turbo Charged 360 HP Pentastar V6 as well as a 3.0L Direct Injection Twin-Turbocharged 420 HP Pentastar V6.

  • @prettymuchright Do you have insider knowledge on the more powerful motors coming to Jeep? I would be very exited to get one of those more powerful motors, that beats the 260hp by a lot.thanks.

  • @adsabine1 Do you really want twin turbos in an offroad vehicle?

On the road, I agree, but off road, I think not.

  • @alnebular As long as the torque curve is good, I have heard that the Ford 3.5 ecoboost has a flat torque curve, the advantages are a lighter engine, better power to weight...Better economy and more power, sign me up, traditionally I would agree with you because turbos used to be peaky, not a direct injection motor, maybe I am wrong? Anyone with a lot of knowledge here?

  • Better acceleration now with this V-6 Jeep, I presume???

  • About time, much stronger engine and better transmission. Do want. ;)

  • This was a long awaited engine.

  • this looks like a Philippine made wrangler ..it looks an old design

  • New engine?

    That's it?

  • @macman1138

And new transmission, slight body tweaks, new interior & new options including new colors..

  • @jamesjr934 I don't think there's any interior differences from 2011 from looking at it.the other main difference is you now have a choice of 3.21, 3.73, or 4.10 final drive and there's a 2 mpg increase. ...

  • @mahatmacoatmahandbag and 80more horse power and 85 pounds more torque

  • @macman1138 he does say the 5 speed transmission is new for 2012.

  • Additional torque???? Doesn't the 2012 wrangler have more HP but the same torque as previous years?

  • @Syrius187 The previous 3.8 V6 had 202 HP and 237 Lb-Ft of Torque.....The new Pentastar 3.6 V6 in the 2012 Wrangler puts out 285 HP and 260 Lb-Ft of Torque so and improvement of 83 HP and 23 Lb-Ft of Torque.....Not bad in my book.

  • I want.
