Have you read anything he wrote? My guess is no. Most of his critics don't bother. They just go on about "he did coke" and "he wanted to screw his mom" etc. which is about as much of a distortion as saying science brought us the atom bomb and AIDS.

Freud's work has subsequently been seminal for an armada of jewish & typically zionist philosophers and intellectuals, who basically synthesiszed Marx & Freud and judaism into social theories promoted very successfully by the Frankfurt School fi.

Freud is especially completely exposed today because of his blatant MISCONDUCT, hypnotically inducing fake memories of child abuse, I say fake, because though reported by Freud as 'memories', they weren't actually remembered by his patients, who reported them only after Freud's constant insisting that they come up

with some sexual stuff, applying presssure on their patients' heads and using ANY...

That this is only starting to be realized today indicates what a fraud the entire field

of psychoanalysis & psychiatry are, and how Freud's work could NEVER have made it in society had not all the pertinent strings been pulled...

It IS being realized to some extent by informed people, but it can't be said that Freud's aura has been relentlessly attacked and discredited...

Thank you for posting this video, it is wonderful to hear Freud's voice. It is remarkable how much influence Freud has had on the human species whether we aregee with his theories or not. I must say that I thunk some are unduely critical of Freud; none of us seem to criticise Alexander Graham Bell for not inventing the i-phone or the Wright brothers for not inventing concord, Many of Freud's theories remain compelling and his influence on psychology and psychiatry has been immense.

like him or love him Freud made a significant contribution towards humanity - his case studies are among some of the most interesting and insightful pieces of literature, still influencing us. Arrogant? - consider the time in which he lived. Context should not be left out - his theories, like all theories, have been built upon and refined, and do influence modern 'evidenced based' psychotherapy. Just look up MBT for borderline patients

Has he proven he succeeded?

Do we know his interpretation of dreams is valid?

I would say that he was speaking sincerely and frankly. He was indeed a neurologist, he tried to bring relief to neurotic patients, he did have an older friend (Breuer) and did discover some important new facts about psychic life. Psychoanalysis did grow out of those findings and was and is a part of psychology. It was a new treatment for neuroses. Freud did pay heavily for his theories and there was and is resistance to his theories.

People did and do think his theories are unsavory and he did acquire pupils. And the struggle to validate psychoanalytic treatment is not over.

Seems like he was spot on. Arrogant implies that he inflating facts to make himself look good. If everything he said was true, then it isn't arrogance. It's truth.

His voice doesn't sound arrogant. It sounds soft and plodding.
