  • BEST SONG

  • thesquonkstear, this is the BOMB! Never knew the artist name, because I was young. Thank you! This is "old school", for those who grew up in the 70"s." Thats me!

  • i would have sworn on a stack of bibles that this was a curtis mayfield song! all these decades i was mistaken! i dont even remember this guy! and he is still alive, too! wow!

well, if you only going to have one hit song in your career, this classic is a superb one to have.

  • ROOOOTS!!!

  • There was a time when you could turn on a radio and hear this and other music like it and EVERYBODY loved it! People were more together then than today....and the music played an important part for everyone.

  • what the hell is with the chevy truck with a coffin in the bed? lol

  • Who could say what is with it, but try thinking of it as one of the things that you're not missing if "you may not have a car at all... and just be thankful for what you've got."

  • this is what i call grown folk music....i love it!

  • Yeah, but the late Arthur Lee's version kicks ass. Can't find it anywhere anymore.

  • One of the greatest from the 70s. still kicken ass today.

  • I love this song I play over & over on my Rolls is not a cadilac but this song make feel very hot lol

  • Boy, I remember that song, I really loved it when I a child, we all new the Lyrics to that song, and sang continuously for hours!! Talking about fun!! That was living, back in those days!!

  • this guy took Curtis Mayfleid Classes! And learned well!! He put the 70's in one Classic song!!, everyone was leaning and cruising, no Sun roof top, No Diamond in the back! but i had my windows down, My 3/4" white strips, the ones that tear up at 60 miles an hr, so i had to cruise. I had a Vega! hey! SHUT UP!! at least i had a car!

  • damn this is a song alright

  • I've loved this tune for years, thanks for putting up the full length version. It's a well-placed contender for one of my funeral tunes.

  • I also agree with SadTruth87 today rap is such a pile of shit

  • i agree with sadtruth87

  • aint nothing better then old school.

  • old school rules. Fuck the gay crap. Listen to

  • @car2142 Well said man!!

  • laaaiiiiid baaaaack.

  • Now this is music!

  • Great montage..nice goin'

  • Too true, too true!

  • Arthur Lee recorded a good version of this song on "Real to Reel".

  • What more can I say, this one´s a Monster...

    Greets from BUTch

  • Song's straight up gangsta, images are not so but do a great deal of explanation tho ...

  • yes it's a beautiful song - never knew gangsta white walls were the tires till tonight. After listening to this song since MA did the cover 17 years ago, every day's a school day!

  • Wish today's music had this much soul. A lot of today's R&B sounds unorganized; a real mess if you ask me.

  • Nobody asked you

  • LOL Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to reply. LMAO

  • Same to you for replying back! I appreciate it

  • where'd you get the pic at :34?

  • Can't recall... (but my uncle had one just like it)

  • just be thankful!!!

  • I wish I could find the massive attack version

  • just be thankful!!!

  • its just that few covers surpass the original and to do that with this song is no mean feat. William deserves nothing but the best and that's nothing against the backing group for this song but they are no Massive Attack. Both versions need to be heard and should be on youtube.

  • I'm liking the original more and more and I am thanfull

  • FINALLY found this song! No wonder I had trouble: someone told me Curtis Mayfield did this. Man, he was WAYYY off!

  • I had BIG problems finding it too. I'm glad I wasn't the only one. ;-}

  • @koolaid28 The session featured members of the MFSB group — guitarist Norman Harris, drummer Earl Young, bassist Ron Baker, and vibist Vince Montana — secured by Allan Felder, who also developed the separate adlib back-up chorus with his sister's vocal choir

The record sold nearly two million copies on its release in spring 1974, reaching #1 on the U.S. R&B charts and #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, selling a million copies.[5] With a sound and content influenced by Curtis Mayfield,

  • a great classic, one of the best songs of the 70,s

  • I'm with you!

  • Background pics fit the song perfectly! Geart job!

  • i like having sex to this song.

  • great work the video and the song deserves it. congratulations. peace

  • Woo hoo!
