ShadowMakerOfMasks thanks so much for the vid, this helped me out a LOT !!!!
i just got myself my first airbrush kit and it came with the tc 20 compressor.. but i have a few problems that i couln't find a proper answer to on the net and hope you can help.
there is some water in the moisture trap that doesnt come out when i push the nozzle like thingy at the bottom of the trap. is there any other way to take it out?
Thanks for posting video! had a question about the regulator, just bought it and seems like I have to turn it 10 times to get from the beginning to the end. also I can't get the PSI above 23-25. Does your regulator hit the 30 mark?

I'm consideirng a regulator myself, thanks. I was thinking though, under what conditions would you want a lower preasure as opposed to just painting at 20 psi and just regulating the material? Does the lower preasure give larger droplet size?
@mrtrek64 I'll be honest here; I haven't got a darn clue! Haha! I usually just mess around with the needle sizes and different PSIs until I find a right place. I usually crank up the PSI up to 60 because I work with latex. It dries rather quickly in the needles making the painting process, in it's entirety, quite frustrating. If you're working with inks, that very well may be the case, however, I know nothing outside of latex. Hope I helped! (If I did)
I also have this compressor just bought it! and using for cake decorating. Do I need to adust my psi? Or can I just plug in and use the thing..I have had it over a week and the manual is terrible.. Or can I just plug in and use? sounds silly but I keep hearing stories of how u can damage the guns..Thank you xx
@StrawberryFlower2009 Oh very cool! Oh your project will definitely require a lower PSI. 5-15ish I would say. As far as the airbrush, If you're doing letters, you will definitely want to use the smaller needles as well. Sounds like a fun project; I wish you the best of luck on it!
@SeGaSaTuRn1994 To be completely honest, I'm not entirely sure. I have experienced a problem similar to yours, so if I come across a solution I'll be sure to let you know.
@ShadowMakerOfMasks I have the same air compressor and I really like it. Sometimes, it gives me a similar problem. I don't consider it anything major. Just take a break and let the compressor catch up. It only takes about 3 seconds.
hi. i have jut bout an air brush set cam with compresor and everything. wanted to know when painting models what would be the best psi to use. i do gundam models.
@answerer1 Hi there! Oh the models you paint are relatively small so I wouldn't go over 15. You definitely want to use the smallest needle, that being 1, and test the paint out on a piece of paper before beginning to spray the model. Used to watch Gundam back in the day! Damn good series! Best of luck with the airbrushing!
I remember the manuel not giving the clearest instructions on anything in-particular. Personally, I'm a visual learner. I need to see to do. Once I did figure it out, I was like: "Wow, that's just sad." Haha! I figure some people might overlook the manuel so I decided to post this short video. Quick answers to small problems.
I think we have the same exact compressor. I was going to ask, shouldn't have to take out that class on the bottom to clean it? If so, how do you take out the glass tube?
Yeah this one seems to be pretty popular haha! Hmm, well I haven't used it enough to know if you would need to or not. Is it causing any problems for you?
No but it seems like the instructions say that we have to reset that thing on the bottom after every use. But in order to do that, they actually show a picture of the glass tube taken off. Weird enough, it does not tell me how to take it off.
That's odd. I never do keep the instructions haha. That's a habit a need to ditch. Well I've had this compressor for 5-6 months or so and I haven't run into any problems yet. I wouldn't worry about it too much. However, I'd do some more research, just to be safe. Sorry if I couldn't help!
good video... i know you didnt make the compressor but question about the regulator, the nob needs to be up right, but when i screw it in to that position its not screwed in all the way. if i do screw it in all the way its upside down, did you have this problem?
It most certainly does! Hmm, I'm not sure if I've had that problem before. Sometimes the regulator falls down, locking it., but no problems besides that. So the direction in which you screw it is, in actuality, the opposite of the setting you wanted? I've never heard of that before. Maybe I misinterpreted. Though, if I'm right on the money, I'd call the manufacturer, pronto. Sorry if I didn't help!
Hmm. Can't say I've messed with air tanks. Sorry, I'm not quite sure what to tell you. You don't have steady pressure? Does it skip a beat every once in awhile? Mine does the same damn thing. I guess I'd better start looking into air tanks, if they'll solve the problem. Sorry I couldn't help.
Hey im a beginner too, was just playin with mine and found out my airbrush only sprays properly on 60 psi (4 BAR) so best to check out wat pressure ur airbrush works at first. Nice vid though man : )
Oh right on! Another person to enter the world of airbrushing haha! It's loads of fun! Ah I have the same problem haha! Wanted to go as low at 15 PSI for some fine details but it splatters if it's that low. It works best 40+. It's a darn shame, but hey, it works! Haha! Thanks for dropping by!
Anytime! Just spreading the knowledge haha! I've had the same grieve for the longest time. Looked everywhere for this simple solution, never did find it. Being a visual learner, I figure that many other people are visual learners too so I put up these short videos to help! If I run in with any other problems with my compressor, I'll put up another little tutorial. Glad I could help!
I still can't turn the knob when i unlock it. I have exactly the same kind of compressor as you have. Is there anything else that needs to be adjust? some screws? what about the red ring that is right under the knob? Am i doing anything wrong... ?
Ah I had the same problem at first. It's kind of hard at first, but you basically just need to turn the knob back and fourth a couple of times to loosen it up. The knob should be loose after a few turns. I don't think you'll need to adjust anything else. I haven't a clue what the red thing is haha! Sorry! I don't believe you're doing anything wrong. Hope I helped!
Yeah they do get heated pretty damn fast haha! The noise is worthy of complaints from the neighbors haha! Oh it's a bummer. Oh that sounds just like what I need! Quiet, and good for airbrushing multiple layers of paint. Good stuff! Maybe somewhere down the road, when I get more experience with the airbrush, I can look into a Senco! Thanks for dropping by!
Right on! You're already one step ahead! Haha! Hopefully it's not a loud one like mine! Haha I'm surprised the neighbors haven't come knocking on my door with a handful of complaints! Haha! Thanks for the comment!
Just for airbrushing. Airbrushing is commonly used amongst mask makers specifically because airbrushing can give the illusion of depth. When you paint masks with an airbrush, there are techniques that can be used to make the mask look incredibly realistic. I'm looking into that right now and hopefully I'll be painting Abomination with a realistic paint scheme in mind. Should be awesome! Haha. I recommend airbrushing, but, it's not a necessity. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks haha! Yeah dude, I haven't been able to do a full project involving an airbrush, but hopefully, I will be. Soon! Haha. Oh right on dude! Are you going to be taking an airbrushing class in college? That'd be wicked!
oh i never knew they had a class just for airbrushing, im going to the Art Institute of Santa Monica so im not really sure if they have that particular class there.
Yeah I heard the classes are out there, what schools they're in is unknown to me haha. Oh awesome school! Well either way, you're on your way to your FX career! Haha! Have a good one!
i have the same compressor did yours come with an o ring for the part that is betwine the compressor and hoze mine is leaking air

hi,do you know what side to connect the air regulator to the air compressor?
the air regulator says input and output.
Do you connect the air compressor to the input connection of the air regulator?
thanks

paintballbmx19 1 year ago
@paintballbmx19 I'd say 15-20. Though, it depends what you're doing. Fine detail may be as low at 5-10ish. Hope I helped!
