@skirocer that's standard actually, haven't seen any pro do anything other than that build. You max Astral first for lane control and added base damage for last hitting, it's usefullness in teamfights and ganks is also great. Essense aura second for the mana pool and aura for you and your team. Ult whenever you can and Orb last. If you go Orb/Essence you leave yourself very vulnerable because you bypass Astral.

1) IG played WR as a support, not a farming windrunner thus she was underleveled unlike when you're playing her as a semi-carry.

2) Getting focus fire is not a necessity, WR players should conserve mana even if she opted for arcane, the mana issue is still there; for the same reason as #1 (low leveled hero)

Hmmmm, I don't think WR is OP, no more than a pudge or a potm is OP. The 2 great things about windrunners are that firstly they are very versatile, no items or heroes will ever make WR a useless hero. Secondly, WR has a lot of potential but needs quite some skill to play, which is why I mentioned pudge and potm, in a sense WR is only OP when its in Chuan's hands xD, otherwise, heroes like Lycan are much scarier :P. Hence, ppl may do a respect ban of WR against IG, but otherwise they won't ban WR
