A very nice (and expertly English-subtitled) Pigua Zhang DVD is now available. Search: " Pi Gua Zhang DVD " on Youtube for the trailer and a link for purchase ;-)
As the proverb says, gods and demons fear pi gua if added to baji while heroes sigh on baji if added to pi gua. I still do not have the idea on what the proverb means. Anyways, nice kata you worked on.
It means that baji is a short power style while pigua is a long power style. the two compliment each other nicely (hence why they'd be so fearsome together) and were probably part of the same style before diverging from each other. at least, that's what most researchers would say.
That was very excellent for a beginner.. you seem to have natural martial art skill within you.. too bad you are not near me I love to train spiritual warriors. Good luck in all you do an many blessings, be well.
I'm not used to this style but pretty good form for being your first....I am fifteen and practice Tang Lang Chuan (Praying Mantis)...Northern Longfist Shaolin....Good to see someone with a passion for real "martial arts"...
ah no i think you did not , it did come up on a fanzi search though , i guess youtube is a bit over eager to promote so their search engine is not totally accurate ;-) good pigua, where did you learn it? (i'll bring a pigua learnig vid out in the future with techniques from Bai Laoshir from Xi'an . greetz G

Good form. I pretty ignorant in Pigua but I like how it looks. Feeling your progress is one of the most cool part of training. Good luck!

Really good job for your first form! Your teacher must do a really good job enforcing the basics. Should post a follow up video ;)
