There is a solution to all this health care mess in the Senate. Let's get a bill no matter what and then start leaving the health insurances and give some of that money to sponsor free clinics all over the country. If everybody would do that we will have a de facto single payer in the country.

I lived in UK, France, Italy and the US since 2002. I experimented single payer and public and private options. The US is a failure at 360 degrees.

In Europe you pay taxes (proportional to your income) and you get ALL the services, 1 job and 5 weeks holidays. In the US you pay taxes+premiums (138% up) + loans ($50k for college, I paid $250/year). 85% of yoiur salary is gone with no services (unless you co-pay on top of the premiums) and no holidays ... and work 2-3 jobs to survive

The US DUMBLY allows 3 million immigrants/refugees (thanks to Kennedy) a year (up from 250,000 in 1968), plus anchor babies plus 6 million visa holders a year into America. WAY TOO MUCH. Most of that is thrid world. And we are supposed to pay for their healthcare when they get here?

Reduce immigration back to 250,000, stop refugee program and get rid of anchor baby law, and then we can talk about national healthcare.

Pres. Obama is the 1 who saved Liebermna's chairmship position. He in turn repays the favor by threatening to filibuster with the Repukes in order to stop the Health Reform Bill if it includes a "public option." Recent polling shows that 70% of Americans want a public option.

I imagine if Pres. Obama were to turn a blind eye and allow Israel to continue to build more settlements in the Gaza Strip, he would definitely secure Joe Lieberman's vote on Health Care Reform, with the the public option included. Not only that he also campaigned for Republican Senators Norm Coleman of Minnesota and Saxby Chambliss of Georgia. Thankfully Coleman's been voted out and now Al Franken's in even though he was sworn in 6 months late and Saxby Chambliss unfortunately got reelected and he has opposed Obama's agenda every step of the way yet he was always on board with Bush's agenda.
