  • The slower the reaction the larger the crystals in any crystalization process correct? Thx 4 post! :)

  • @Rubberbandman200 you can make it your self with vinegar and baking soda just do a YouTube search on how to make hot ice

  • fake

  • @MrAleper

    not.

  • How do you do this?? Do you just turn the sodium acetate into a liquid and then drop a crystal in? Or do you have to add water once it's a liquid or before. Can someone please tell me the procedure?

  • @nirvanafan7777

Create a saturated solution of sodium acetate in hot water. Then allow it to cool. Since a warm solution can hold more solutes than a cold one, the solution will become supersaturated. I done right the sodium acetate will crystalize as shown in the video.

  • does that work with sugar or something?

  • i just did this experiment in my chem class.. it was awesome.

  • @zhanhui do you have any clue were to buy sodium acetate, not on line please respond

  • @rubberbandman200 sorry babe, i don't. i did the experiment at school.

  • did i really just read mesages of a college guy and a 12 yer old argue on youtube?!

  • fake, he probably used After Effects.

  • @armandolara94 not fake. if this super saturated solution is disrupted then it comes out of solution and creates..this hot ice. so i would recommend taking a chemistry class so you can watch this and not call it fake.

  • @armandolara94 lol dumbass

  • @armandolara94 ur retarded

  • gosh man this is so awesome

    im so fascinated by this

where can you get this stuff at?

  • arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics...

even if you win, you're still a retard

  • Yeah, and most likely every special competitor would kick the shit out of you.

  • did i tell you, you make me lauch?? i like you man whahahahah

  • bye bye english dude haha

  • hahah yeah i know, but it fun to see someone get totally freaked out by some dumbass childish comments.

  • is hot ice dry ice?

  • had chemistry classes?? ofcourse not, like red forrman would say. DUMB ASS

  • no, coz im fucking 14 only you dick, why cant i ask questions?

  • hahahah yeah so is was 12 and had chemisty you little DICK! sure you can ask question!

  • yeah so why fucking make a big deal out of it you fucking nerd done chemistry already and your only 12 shut the fuck up

  • your the one who is making a big deal out of it!! little fucker! with al your big words watch out for your mommie if she reads it youll get banned from the internet. freak!

  • man shut up before i smash you

  • i wish you did really

  • He asked a question, leave the kid alone.

  • dude its 3 weeks ago......why should i start the same bs all over again i didnt even react to this....my nefew is at the sama acount so!

  • You did react, you called him a dumbass for asking a question.

  • .........read my reation again, i did not react my neffew did he live with us, en therefor can use our pc....

  • "my nefew is at the sama acount" that doesn't mean he wrote it. Can you even spell?

  • nope i'm english it says enough......

  • and.....did you ever heard about ice that is hot?????

  • what the fuck, are you fucking retarded you 12 year old retard. Normal ice = cold. Dry ice = extremely cold. Dry ice isn't real ice it's just fucking water that is mixed with an acid that turns it into a solid that LOOKS like ice, but is warm.

  • lalking about retards how is you mom?? she raised you dude dry ice is co2 in a sollid state!! no acid involved or what so ever!! dude pretty smart for a 12 year old huh...douchebag!! chek wikipedia dry ice!! if you dont believe me!!!

  • Learn to spell retard, I never said anything about acid.. and you're thick as fuck for a 12 year old.

  • wow and you also have a bad memorie...dude why should i spell things right you understand what i am saying so dont be a bitch! i'm not a ginger english tea drinking fag boy so i dont give a shit if my english is bad!!

  • hahaha uhm......i rather have a h5n1 than beying an english talking tea drinking douchebag....a good enough reason?

  • The most famous people in the world are English speakers and drink tea, like Bill gates, without him you wouldn't have this fantasy world to try act tough. For the record, Bill Gates created the computer.

  • for the record bill gates did not invent the computer Tommy Flowers did and it was an american, bill gates "divelloped" windows, and i dont work with windows i work with apple douchebag pay atention at school or wath tv (what a german named Paul Gottlieb Nipkow invented)

  • You can tell you're getting angry and freaking out replying 3 times. Also I don't go to school anymore, so whats the point in telling me to pay attention. With you're grammar you act like you've just started Primary school.

  • hahahah thnx google maps:P but why would i spell corret for you?? do you like algebra so mutch? you get horney from it?

  • No, its just hard to understand what you're saying. And if you're not 12, why spell worse than a 12 year old?

  • i really don't care what you think. oke you need to do some better research before you say something, i might make an ass of myself, but you do to.

  • You started this, I'm finishing it, any further crying and commenting I just won't reply..

  • shut up faggot

  • you shut up you fucking fag why defend him, im just fuckn asking that question and he calls me a dumbass

  • Hot Ice isn't dry ice. Dry ice is extremely cold, while Hot Ice is.. Hot :)

  • wow hot ice........really you are stupid.......wo really!! give me your msn whe can talk over there!!

  • You're a faggot fat ass American then? Go grow some balls and start puberty 12 year old.

  • no american......dutch but i'm currently in england in whitehaven.....and youre not talking to my 12year old neffew so you grow some balls en pay attention at school dumbsh*t

  • Haha, you don't even know where Whitehaven is, and also, you're 12, so that means you're still at school. I've left.

  • and also... I finished school last year..

  • near cockermouth and workingten, south of england faggot, im not 12 my neffew is dude buy some glasses!!

  • So you searched Whitehaven on Google maps :) Nice, but its Workington, oh and if you do live in Whitehaven, name the biggest shop in Whitehaven town which shut down because of bankruptcy.. Now google "How to spell"

  • Awsome but what's the point of slowmotion nd reg. It looks all the same??? :p

  • I love that stuff

  • what would happen if you put your han din there during the reaction? and what would happen if you touched it after the reaction?

  • I've made the solution and done both :)

Your hand just gets hot in you put it into the solution during the reaction, it is hot ice after all

Nothing happens if you touch it after the reaction, it just feels solid and hot =)

  • nothing..sodium acetate is harmless to touch.. i make it at the factory i work at in the UK .. its just like salt ..its stings when its comes into contact with a cut and thats all, unlike salt tho.. i wouldnt recomend eating it, its horrible when some of the dust geting in your mouth, you can taste it for hours afterwards :)

  • if a lake reacted like dat :D

  • it would be cool if u put all of those cristal thingis in a lake imagine dat 0_0

  • Supersaturation is a state in which more solute is dissolved into the solvent than would ordinarily be possible at a given temperature and pressure. This can be achieved by heating a solvent, dissolving the solute, then allowing the mixture to cool.

  • i believe supersaturated has a slightly different chemical makeup that delays crystallization

  • whats the difference between supersaturated and normal???

    but its AWESOME anyways!

  • u can get this stuff on ebay for about $5.00 a pound

  • Yeah i know its AWESOME!

  • you can get this stuff of ebay nigga

  • where can you by the crystal things walmart, sams, albertsons

  • just to let you know, aqueous sodium acetate is vinegar

  • just to let YOU know, vinegar is Acetic acid which is entirely different from Sodium Acetate. Not even close.

  • @tychomagneticanomaly Just to let YOU know, adding baking soda with vinegar, then boiling it, will create a thin layer of sodium acetate as the sodium bicarbonate looses it's carbon atoms and attaches to the dilute acetic acid.

  • @hideyyo "the sodium bicarbonate looses it's carbon atoms and attaches to the dilute acetic acid."

    ???

  • @vmelkon if u want help with making sodium acetate message me, i can show u i made some tonight for fun.. and such

  • @tychomagneticanomaly add some NaHC03 or Sodium BiCarbonate (Baking Soda) and viola Co2(Carbon dioxide) H20(water duh) and NaCHOO- Sodium Acetate is formed FTW! then just super saturate some good distilled water or something and yay!

  • Does anyone have an approximation of the water to sodium acetate ratio?? I have tried this several times and it just won't work and I don't want to end up wasting all my sodium acetate.. Could there be any other reason why this won't work besides the mixture being too diluted??

  • Are you heating the water? You don't just mix it, you have to supersaturate it.

  • about 1:1 works for me

once you try it and it doesnt work you can reheat and add more sodium acetate

when you do get it to work you can just put it in your microwave oven heat until liquid and put it back in your fridge. it should be about the same amount of liquid so if some water boils out just add just enough to replace it

    i hope this helped

  • haha

  • where can i download this video??please tell me...i really need it for a chemistry project!!!:Dthnx

  • Hi, people who have Ms. Paik

  • hello lol

  • sup lmfaoo

  • i have ms paik who are u?

  • Are you kidding? That's what a supersaturated solution is. It's a solution (in this case water & sodium acetate) that was boiled to allow for more sodium acetate to be absorbed into the given amount of water so once the one final crystal was added it started the chain reaction of crystalization (NOT FREEZING) of the original solution.

  • guys please dont believe what you really see... although what he did was plausible he pre-diluted the water in the caontainer with a lot more of the sodium acetate that he dropped in. When that one small piece of sodium acetate dropped in the super saturated water of sodium acetate it just began the chain reaction of crystilation due to an exothermic reaction in which the water gives off a lot of heat therefore allowing it to freeze.

  • what do you think a supersaturated sollution is? The same thing happens in the atmosphere, it may be at 101% capacity, along comes a current of air and disrupts the sollution and boom! you get storm clouds and rain. Any super saturated sollution is highly unstable and can come out of sollution very easily.

  • he holds the crystal like it is a mini nuke

  • whoa...

  • not really it looks cool im gonna try it...

  • what a dumbass comment.

  • get a decent name, achmed has been overplayed. and get a life.
