omg why the hell can't someone make a current generation game like this so much potential being wasted.

Kids these days don't even know this was like the 1st game I can remember similar to GTA where you could kill random innocent people and steal their money.

This game is the closest thing looking back at the 16 bit era as being as big as a mmo you never ran out of johnson runs some were recycled yes but it had serious replay.

The SNES version is totally different. This version is not a linear. Its my favorite in my opinion.

They're ghouls not zombies. In Shadowrun there is a virus I think it's MHHVV but I don't recall what it all stands for, human, metahuman, something virus. Basically when people get infected they become other creatures, humans often became vampires, trolls would becom ghouls, etc. That's why there are ghouls in the middle of the city, it's a virus.

i love this game. it rocked me so hard when i was a kid. But now its fun killin everyone

i saw one for the SNES and tried it. I HATED how you had to move, stop, move cursor and then shoot. It just sucked

The SNES game was basically a revenge story wrapped around 1 character and an awesome game in its own right. The genesis game was closer to the actual pen-and-paper RPG (which ive never played) and had flickerbook animation making it allmost impossible to play at times, the freedom the game offered was nice though.

So in summary then:

SNES= Great

Genesis= Rough but had potential

Xbox 360= Decent counter strike rip-off thats not worth $60

I played it for the Sega Genesis, and I feel it was one the best games ever made. The only game I hold up high like this is Zelda. this game was so in depth for a genesis game, I was really impressed!! ABBACAB!! LOL

i played shadowrun for the sega and it was a great game, me and my brother never owned it but rented it many times before we actually beat it. i played the snes version and thought it wasnt as good as the sega version. by the standards of 1990 1991 this game was way ahead of its time, there was no other game like it. reminds me of gta for its time.

The 360 version is like counter strike except you can use magic and tech like in the old shadowrun games (although some stuff is different.. but that's because it's a FPS and not an RPG) IMO the new game looks promising so far, so hold your judgment until you play it.

this game was much harder than the snes version i like the option to choose a samuari/decker/shaman it was way more of a mercenary style game where the snes version was more story based both are great games

Uhmm..The SNES version of this game seemed quite lacking. The user interface was more was clunky and the matrix interface reminded me of the old ATARI 2600 TRON games. The Sega Genesis version is obviously superior in all respects.

There is also a anime-styled version of Shadowrun for the Mega CD - but it's a very rare game as far as I know.

if you play this with genesis emulator GENS you can speed up the game so it doesn't take as long.
