  • Why do you have corals in your freshwater tank? I see a ghost knifefish so it must be fresh but I thought it was bad to put coral and shells in freshwater...

  • @Pocketmouse05 whyNOT

  • @Pocketmouse05 Probably plastic or some other artificial construct.

  • @BladeShepherd

no, it's real coral... I only put it in because I thought it looked good with the white sand

  • :P Star Trek music!? And, hand fed fish?! I'm in heaven!

  • What is the scientific name of the fish that is swimming upside down?

  • Isn't the black fish blind?

  • @thehamsterlover100

yep, but it uses electricity to find food:)

  • @ruckaisawesome what is the black one's type called?

  • @xTallimx

    black ghost knife fish

  • @ruckaisawesome can you please explain how this happens? I find it hard to believe :/

  • @bashira345

well... u see, the bgk lives in the bottom of amazon river where the visiblity is very bad. So instead of using sight, they use small amount of electricity generated with their special organ to maneuver around and find food

  • @ruckaisawesome so it is somewhat like how some types of shark help find there food by detecting the electrical currents produced by things like fish

  • @findthecomputerroom6

    yea.. kinda like that

  • @ruckaisawesome interesting... but how do they "control" the electricity?

  • Nice crazy fish! Im tempted to get one from my LFS. Do they hide much or just always stick to the glass? I heard theyre adaptable to freshwater. Hows theyre activity level? Im thinking on adding one to my Polypterus n Datnoid.

  • @f2warbound

thx:) mine never seems to hide, It tends to float upside down on the surface and always very active especially doing feeding. Mine's been in freshwater for a long time without any problem now. How big's ur datnoid though? The dat might eat the crazyfish if it's too big.

  • @ruckaisawesome Thnx for the response. Ya I see them always floating or hanging on the glass @ the LFS I hope it grows big enough to not become a meal eventually. Dats only 4" Polys are 6" ATM so it will be fine for now. I think they look kewL I will read up on them more. i want to add more predatory fish in my tank.
