  • saw one of these sirens in Grand Ledge, MI. I was wondering what type of siren it was.

  • i live about 10 minutes away from one of these sirens, in jersey, about 5 minutes away from Philadelphia

  • @hootergirlsrhot Philly!!!!!!

  • what kinda siren is that in backround, its white, and looks like a deformed model 2 and is in the backround

  • @trainz675 i believe those are weather instruments

  • @trainz675 Those are housings for weather sensors, that one likely temperature, humidity and/or barometric pressure. The housing lower on the left may be another such sensor or it may be a cloud cover or dew point sensor. The anemometer (wind speed) is barely visible at top.

  • because there are antennas??

  • Notice the Model 2

  • @bulldozer950 Thats not a Model 2. It's not even a siren.

  • @bulldozer950 Actually I didn't....because there isn't one.

  • how come in the Usa they have sirens and in canada they dont can u help me ot with that soccerdude7330

  • You know whats funny, that almost all sirens look 10X smaller than they really are.

  • what kind of air raid siren is that ? it looks like a weird motor

  • how do u set a tornado siren off dude!?!?!?!?

  • There's one of these in an old all wooden structure Chinatown here in the California Delta called "Locke". Although I don't know if it's still operable.

  • Could you please tell us waht the manufacturer is and the model number is?

  • This is a Denver M420 series 2

  • to protect it from vandalizm

  • how old is this siren

  • that sound something like the siren in cambridge springs

  • Well, for someone who lives in the fucking country, you would think she knows when they test that thing. People are stupid. Just like when a store says "closed" they still walk up and pull the door handle only to discover its locked

  • Ah, so you're one of them Yankees up there north? Wow.

  • Soccerdude, do I have permission to SPAM him? With his foul language?

  • Sure, because he seems to hate southerns like us!

  • @bait28,lol i lived in illinois once but now i live in iowa.

i think the south and the north are the same too.

    makes no difference to me.

  • ORLY? LOL

  • @Jared1452

I'm from central PA myself, and you're right about there being lots of rednecks. Hell, just about everyone I consider to be my friend is, and proud of it.

It's really nice not ever being more than a mile or two from the woods at any given time, and it seldom takes more than 20 minutes to get to BFE from wherever you are. Gotta love PA.

  • i agree.that woman's an asshole.that or shes drunk.or she could also be on drugs...

  • With the Hamsters on meth lol.

  • hahaha that takes me back to when I lived in MS hearing that guy talk

    " TORNADO SY-REEN"

  • if you listen closely, you can fainly hear a 2001 off in the distance

  • yes, and you i think, can also hear something in the distance wind down

  • @DigitalEagleInc it's the same 2001 that's in my 'Lebanon Siren System Test' video. It's at Gay and College Sts.

  • Have twice as many ports as todays sirens but are driven at half the speed.

  • Haha. The Lady and your dad at the end were funny.

  • Hot damn! Thanks for uploading this!

  • There's one of those in north Texas! but its dysfunctional.

  • would that be Lockhart Texas?

  • Eric green has a pic of it

  • you know whats cool? ACA P-50s! There huge!

  • these things are 6ft long,2ft tall/wide and weigh 2145lbs, made entirel out of cast iron. The p50 weighs much much less.

  • Germantown in Memphis, TN has four ASC P-50's. I would love to go hear and record those some time..

  • my neighboring city has 12 of them! YAY

  • Dude get some vids of them. That would be sweet :D.

  • i'm planing on it. that and an aca howler and allertronic 6000

  • @bait28 I cant wait for you howloer video

  • yeah i know. our aca t-135's are supposed to be 8 ft in diameter and wiegh over 3 tons and are made only of fiber glass. with a 50 hp motor

  • Ive got a copy of the patent for this thing

  • If you listen, you can hear the slip clutch when it starts. (banging soung)

  • that is an old one alright. is it painted brown or is it rust?

  • rust

  • Why so? I'd be glad to hear it each month to gain trust in it and know that it will warn me of a real emergency situation.

  • Hi, can you tell me when this siren was built?

    It looks old.

    thanks

  • 1915-1930's

  • wilson county?

  • Yes, Wilson County, TN. This EMA building is actually located in the city of Lebanon.

  • Is that a Federal Signal Siren or a American Signal Siren

  • It is a "Denver Siren" made from 1915-1930

  • what a beast

  • Five stars for such a rare specimen!

  • sounds like an sth 10 on wind down

  • Excellent video of that siren, Charlie! You should be a siren tester. :D

  • Great siren. And um..... you might want to check your description for a misspelling.

  • You must be nuts to notice that!

  • cool my uncle used to live in denver

  • Excellent video Charlie!

  • I love that CLICk sound right before it goes off, gives those around a chance to run or cover there ears! Great video Charlie.

  • @DigitalEagleInc That would be the slip clutch mech. They would "Jump" when the siren was engaged to avoid busting the shaft in cold weather. Google "Denver siren" in google's patant search. There is a diagram of the siren towards the top.

  • Cool video, Charlie. So that's what a Denver siren sounds like.

  • Dang Charlie, that is unique. It has its own shelter protecting it from the weather!!! Very neat.

  • sounds gooooood !

  • Great video, Charlie! That siren sounds cool! Excellent job setting it off! :)

  • Nice!
