Read the book "Red River Rising" by Ashley Shelby. Scientists at the University of North Dakota predicted the flood, but the Grand Forks Herald wrote such a harsh editorial that the scientists basically shut their mouths about their prediction. It's all in Shelby's fine book.
same here kinda. i had to go to illinois with my aunt. my dad stayed cuz he worked at the commissary. but i didnt get to see him for a few months either.
God...I remember this so much I was 7 years old, I remember having to leave to fargo to stay with my grandparents..my dad had to stay in town because he is a firefighter..and my mom had to leave to the airforce base...I didnt get to see my parents for like 2 months.
