The all terrain is a closer competitor for the power wagon. A diesel engine would not work for high speed off road. Its too heavy, the truck its self is too big and heavy. The raptor is heave at 6000lbs. The all terrain will be over 8.

The only thing that might qualify as the most "real truck" is the powerwagon, but it's intended for a completely different use than the raptor. With minor modification (e.g., suspension lift and tires), there are other trucks that will outperform the raptor on certain types of terrain, but overall I agree with your statement, especially if we are talking about stock trucks that are ready to roll.

But take that thing crawling on tight forest trails like we have here in the PNW and suddenly the raptor is way out of its league. For that kind of driving you would be a lot better off taking the money you save by not buying a raptor and instead build spend the extra cash building up a Tacoma. @ralvis20 They don't produce that truck. You have to buy a dodge, then take it to mopar so they can bolt on $20,000 worth of stuff. After that, it still isn't as good as a raptor. But it is the closest attempt. Doesn't have the electronics to back it. No high speed rear locker, and the suspension isn't valved like the raptor.

But when both are put side by side they come out pretty even :) I like the idea of Raptors, just hard to like them when you're a die hard Ram fan ha. @titan709 Mine was $46k and with some slight mods, yes it would no problem. And you would do it loaded with luxury. A bowler doesn't have heated leather seats, voice activated nav, sunroof, backup camera. One raced the Dakar almost stock and did incredibly well.
@rh1n01 i hope you put the bolt in frame brace on the truck before you do that or youll bend the frame up all the frames on these truck have a weak spot right over the top of the rear axle its not a if it bends its a when on these trucks
@BlitzHKS Oh don't even go there. over 9/10 people have no idea what causes the frame to bend. I have jumped the crap out of mine, ran it through miles of whoops over 2 feet deep, raged through the dunes, and not a single bend. Do your research first. And I would like to see how ANY other frame from a truck holds up to what the raptor does.

Wow, it got water in it being in the water for that short of time, i've had my 98 Grand Cherokee above the fenders stuck in water for about 5-10 minutes before we got it out and didn't get a drop of water in the interior.

@titan709 Mine was $46k and with some slight mods, yes it would no problem. And you would do it loaded with luxury. A bowler doesn't have heated leather seats, voice activated nav, sunroof, backup camera. One raced the Dakar almost stock and did incredibly well.

I have jumped the crap out of mine, ran it through miles of whoops over 2 feet deep, raged through the dunes, and not a single bend. Do your research first. And I would like to see how ANY other frame from a truck holds up to what the raptor does.

Wow, it got water in it being in the water for that short of time, i've had my 98 Grand Cherokee above the fenders stuck in water for about 5-10 minutes before we got it out and didn't get a drop of water in the interior.
