At the age of thirteen Laurie Londo made an up-tempo version of this spiritual song "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" with the Geoff Love Orchestra for Parlophone Records (45-R4359) which was picked up by its co-owned American sister label Capitol Records (F3891). In April 1958, it reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and remained there for 4 weeks (#1 Most Played By Jockeys, #2 retail sales), but was to be his only hit record.
I like the modern elements in this song. It could be easily played over the radios...etc. Also the choristers really pay attention to the choirmaster and this helps them to achieve an unique blending of their voices.
I don't think I have ever seen a choir so syncopated in their music. It is as if each one makes the sound exactly the same as the next kid. Each vowel sound and consonant sound is made exactly the same from person to person. Their timing is precise. They must be very strict in their training. They sound as one voice.
Really pretty amazing considering the ages of the boys in the choir and the apparent dedication required to produce this kind of quality.
Beautiful rendition... very nice
