The Land of the Night Journey and the Ascension (Al-Isra' and Al-Mi'raj)

2) During certain eras ignorance and atheism dominated most societies save for a few number of believers who followed the Messengers as happened during the time of Prophet Noah, Muhammad, Abraham, Jesus (peace and blessings be upon them all). 18)If the Jews think that their presence in Palestine is the fulfillment of the promise, we have to ask them why has the fulfillment been delayed for 2000 years? We have to admit that Israel has gained power after Muslims engaged in fighting one another, deviated from the true path and abandoned the principles and teachings of Islam.
19)We will never regain our previous power and long lost glory and succeed in gaining sweeping victory over Israel until we return to the true path and place our full trust in Allah.

I feel sorry for anyone who buys into that view of Jewish people in general. The reason Jewish people believe in a state is their faith in G-d's promise and that after the Holocaust, people did not trust the world with their safety. My people too were holocust victims & despite being the second highest percentage of people murdered by Hitler's regime, we have not been give eith acknowledgement or recognition. actually zionism means returning to the holy land. zionism in general says nothing about establishing a "STATE." this was only one view-point known as "charterism," (since they wanted a charter from the Sultan), which eventually prevailed, obviously. but there were other forms. many early zionists looked favorably on the Arabs and wanted to live like them. others were opposed to establishing a "state" because they were anarcho-syndicalists who wanted to live in local, autonomous collectives

With all due respect to the posting, I don't think that this presentation was factual and was really biased. There are always two sides to every argument. It is when we hear both sides and sift through the stories and the facts that we find out what really happened. I think if we could do this more, than we could make a lot of progress. The blame game isn't going to get us or our children anywhere.

I don't intend to change history. As a matter of fact, there were many instances of violence against Jewish people in Arab states before, during and after Israel came into being. There was an exodus of 800,000 Jews from Arab lands after they were run out from them. So, I would not paint the Arab countries as these wonderful humane nations with great records

I just want to say I believe in peace and I don't bash anyone. To get at the root of this problem, we need to hear from all sides. Personally I am Jewish and I just wanted to say that I believe in a Jewish State, but also in a Palestinian state. May someone tell me in a calm manner why the Jewish people cannot have a state of their own?
