  • Bad accident but nowhere near as bad as Kubica's.

  • @EpicShinyLapras mate dont compare those 2 crashes. Kubicas crash was harder. but this crash was closer to be fatal. the car rolled on the wall. if it rolled at the cockpit areai it would smash the driver into the cockpit.

  • He was so lucky. A few inches near to the wall and......

At all, a really bad accident. It's quite similar to Marco Campos but with a good end.

  • safety car was already deployed before the crash!?

  • @Homer0Simpson it was deployed due to the startline crash between Timo Glock and Andres Zuber

  • what a horrific crash! This guy had so much luck... and the guy on the wall too

  • kubicas crash was a much harder impact

  • He was such a lucky guy because he survived nearly unhurt...

Now he is driving Indy Car in USA.

  • Why gp2 gets all fun?

  • Now i want a F1 mod for Tony Hawk Underground 2

  • Did he die?

  • Sweet Jesus

  • if i was one of those guys on the sidelines, i would have taken a huge dump in my pants.

  • sick grind, woulda got top marks on a tony hawk game

  • the car actually splitted in two parts it may not be visible but the monocoque got loose from the rest of the car almost completly split

  • They were doing about 120 - 140 mph at the time...

  • oh fu**

    that´s hard

  • moron, look how he rammed into the cars tails... maybe he was trying pass through them, lol... and he was really lucky that the car didn't roll on the wall with his head....

  • He was very lucky that bridge support wasn't closer to the wall, it would have cut the car in half. He's a lucky man.

  • actually no force can cut an f1 or gp2 car in half. yes he is lucky to survive. but he is lucky bcs the car didnt roll on the metal wall just into the cockpit and on his head. also he didnt hit that poll with the cockpit zone.

  • @amokachi31 : An F1 car can be split in two. Well at least the engine from the monocoque. Check out Brundle's crash in Australia for an example.

  • @TheJerryludlow absolutely yes. but u caught the key. cockpit is monocoqu and can not be split. at least in modern times. not the historical f1 cars of bath tubes with 4 wheels and lots of horsepower and flamable fuel like the one that killed Gilles Villeneuve. and many others.

  • this man coud die...if i see right at the time his car hit a cement wall he hit it with his head also...and thats gotta hurt

  • is that Christian Horner at 0:10 ?

  • @F1Onboard08 yes

  • @F1Onboard08 ya

  • @F1Onboard08 :yes. :)

  • amazing

  • The cement wall never done its job did it?

  • it almost hitt those people.

  • MASSIV CRASH

  • did he survive?

  • Yes, that Ernsto Viso and he came away from that crash with minor injuries

  • Everybody in the audience thought the stewards was killed...

    (sorry for my bad english)

  • I was at Magny cours, I saw this in live... That was terrible...

  • All of you guys comparing the speed of this crash vs. Kubicas... you have to take into account the nature of the impact. The reason why this crash stands out to me is the fact that Viso's head came so close to an unprotected cement wall. Kubica's crash was MASSIVE, don't get me wrong, but at least he had some car to protect him. The way Viso ended up on top of the wall could have been fatal in an open-cockpit car.

BTW I'm a huge Kubica fan, so I'm not trying to take anything away from his crash

  • I wouldnt say this was as bad as kubicas. This apppears to be a formation lap, as the lead car is weaving. And they are travelling alot slower.

Remember that Kubica's impact was 170mph and nearly head on into that wall

  • its not a formation lap. The caution had just come out for a earlier incident. The leading cars slowed down and Viso, the driver, didn't react fast enough, hit the car in front and flipped.

  • Yeah, i realised when i watched it again. I cant say i watch GP2 much, but it was because of the weaving. I didnt realise an accident had occurred before :)

    Thanks! (Y)

  • the 2 stewards are so lucky

  • lol there was tons of carnage on the first lap!

  • i take it this was 07, what track?

  • Magny-Cours, France

  • one hell of a grid

  • EJ Viso?

  • Yep, back in when he was known as Ernesto Viso

  • thats not ernesto "ej" viso!! . thats javier villa! .

  • I saw this live, it's Viso

  • oh my bad then .

  • nice grind

  • holy shit!!!

  • he did not died

  • RIP

  • Comment removed

  • @erwinruys What the hell are you talking about man ??? It was Ernesto Viso.

  • Where was this?

Thought it looked like Silverstone? But the corner didnt look quite right?

  • Magny Cours

  • Magny Cours

  • are you kidding me ?

KUBICAS was huge ,sure this one was big big but it was nothing compared to kubicas.

BY the way kubicas impact was around 160-170

  • I do not understand why they have that stupid wall there. A few years ago a driver died in a very similar accident at the same track in a Formula race because he hit exactly that wall you see there with his head while his car was upside down in the air. Very sad, but I hope they learn from that.

  • is that ernesto viso?

  • yes

  • dont be a doughnut, kubicas impact was massive 160mph sennas impact was on 130 at tamburello... this accident had a impac but nothing on kubicas, risk was breaking his neckon the low wall as it rolled over it

  • wow!!!!

  • Wow I'm glad he ended up being just fine. That was scary to see.
